Anyone who has ever seen the box of an iPhone, or a brand new MacBook, will be able to picture the minimalist white box with those shimmering metallic fonts. I know that when I open something Apple related, it always feels premium and I get a sense of being an adult (yes I know I’m 22). I think now that I can afford to get apple products the inner child in me who didn’t grow up with them comes out.

Really like the brand packaging that the company “Happy Socks” distributes with each quantity or bundles of socks they sell, I worked in a retail store called Raidar which had these bad boys for sale and I really enjoyed the pop of colour in each weekly delivery, these also really remind me of Christmas and gift giving. I love that each box design is based from the sock that’s within each box which I think is brilliant instead of having a plain coloured box like other branded sock boxes. Wanted to branch off a bit from all of the graphic design posters and advertisements I’ve been posting to show some brand packaging that I enjoy and what caught my eye.

Here is the LORD of WAR movie poster which I think looks class as bullets are used to create a portrait of Nicholas Cage himself, the font used here as well suits the poster very well.

EYE BEE M or IBM depending who you are asking, love this simple icon take on the company IBM, contrast between black and white is also great.

Some extremely clever book covers here, pretty self explanatory on why but if you don’t have a keen eye or you may have a wonky one.
Pisa shows the leaning tower of Pisa with the I.
Paris shows the Eiffel Tower with the A.
London shows the minimal take on a London bus by using LNDN for the body of the bus and the Os as it’s wheels.

I really love old style posters, it gives us a bit of an insight in what fonts were often used and what was the “norm” for proximity, I love the use of wrap text around the centre image, makes the poster look great

Really like this design, I love the way the Blonde album songs are resembling something you’d purchase in the shop and that the length of each song is reflected in its “price”. It’s a brilliant concept and it looks great…. At least in my opinion :)

My favourite thing about this graphic is the font used for the word “KOTA” and the way the image used and the fonts creates a subtle square for this graphic and I also think the colour palette chosen is spot on and really suits the vibe of the graphic. The texture used to me is really nice cause it reminds me of the graphics you can see around the city centre which are usually plastered on wooden walls such as building sites. It also has a special place in my heart as it was designed by a close friend of mine CJ.

Love this old school inspired subscription page from a Thrasher magazine, also love their phrase “A habit you can live with” and the cigarettes are rolled up Thrasher magazines which I think looks cool.

“The Tōkyōiter” is a tribute to both Tokyo and ‘New Yorker’ covers, the ‘New Yorker’ is just over 95 years old with its first magazine being published in the February of 1925, I love this because of how well the colour theory here works, the three colours used work so well with each other and show a great example of contrast. I really like the pop of bright pink in some of the items within the graphic too.

It’s pleasing to the eye the way just three colours are used for the design, the colours chosen are great as its the three colours for the flag of France as this is where Les Misérables is set, the only dislike I have is that the text below “the musical phenomenon” is almost impossible to read because of the colour of the text

Really like this graphic, to me it’s a modern take on old catalog pages from the early 1930s, I’m a huge fan on the colour theory as it’s a reflection of the colours used on the Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97, the only critique I’d have is that it’s only showing 2 of the interchangeable patches instead of the 4.

Really like this due to the uses of different words that are very similar to each other and the end word is the actual name of the Nike model, the design is quite simple not too much going on but it gives off the message it’s trying to deliver.

So I just started a course in Desktop Publishing which I’m absolutely chuffed about, my classmates and I have been set with a task for the duration of our course to upload at least two posts each week to our blog and discuss our likes and dislikes about whatever we decide to post. For example if we love a certain font used or if the colour theory used for the design is terrible. To whoever comes across this and to my classmates, enjoy! #tumblrr #tmblr #tumblrgram #tumblrs #tumblraesthetic #tamblr #tumblrfeed #tumblrposts #tumblr👽 #tumblrpost
