Finding out Etho is a good builder as someone who mainly became aware of the guy through the Life Series is so bizarre to me. Generally the strong builders show that off in at least one of their bases over the series, but Etho's singular creations include the wool fort, the snow castle, the gravel shack, and a solid copper tower. Outside of maybe the tower because I've never been able to build a circle in Minecraft, I could have built any of those (in form, not necessarily with the same blocks) and everything I know about building in Minecraft I learned from looking at villager houses and one Grian tutorial I watched in like 2018.

Then I get into the fandom and I see stuff he's built on Hermitcraft or in his survival world and my first response is "you're telling me that's the same guy?"

Apparently he just logs onto the life series and decides he does not care what his base looks like and it's so funny honestly. I know the snow and soul sand at least had strategic justifications, as did the lava walls on his 3L base, but everything else just makes me go ???

The family so absolutely whipped for Etho this episode btw. He faced no consequences from them whatsoever. They talk a bunch about how they should kill him, but they never try. They take their weapons out of their hands when they go to hit him. He trapped their base, killed Gem, tried to do it again, and tried to kill Joel with the Gs and the most they did was like slap him with a piece of steak

People including Grian in the family but not Etho is really funny because objectively, he's been a consistent ally of the team since episode 2, flubbed an easy kill against Gem on purpose, shows up to team meetings, assists with their traps, and shares resources, but We Still Don't Trust Him
