I documented multiple cases with @/ EuroMedHR of Israeli soldiers abducting blonde children from #Gaza claiming they might be abductee Israelis. As Israeli forces are nearing my area of refuge, I just actually told my brother’s wife to dye her blonde daughter’s hair black! [@/ MahaGaza on X. 01/07/24.] Read this twice, took me twice Zionists are kidnapping blonde Palestinian babies and pretending they're isra*lis, Palestinians are being told to dye their children's hair black [@/ Lamis_Deek on X. 01/07/24/]
Thank you to a mutual for sharing/alerting me to this. This is absolutely horrifying. Like WHO was it that said blonde and blue-eyed babies were superior??
This also makes me think of white European colonizers kidnapping Indigenous children and bringing them to "residential schools" -which were mass genocide camps. If ya'll even know a little about this history, that's what it reminds me of. Indigenous children were forcibly separated from their families and cultures. They were forbidden to speak their languages and were violently abused, and many were killed in heinous and cruel ways -there are still MANY unmarked graves in the white-settler nation of Canada.
This is beyond disturbing. I can't even imagine the horrors behind something like this. The IOF are depraved.

Between the people who will need to leave Gaza to get medical care due to a lack of functioning hospitals to people who will be homeless as entire neighbourhoods are destroyed, it's hard to fathom the significant toll that will still be impactful for years to come. Never mind the trauma children will continue to have or even Palestinians who can never do what they love again due to becoming disabled... I just cannot stop thinking about it.

When Trump wins, enacts Project 2025, and ends social security, thousands of disabled and elderly people are going to die. I'm disabled and rely on social security to exist and I'm going to die.
i could be unkind to you right now but i won't
let us assume your panic is warranted and this worst-case scenario is plausible. your survival is not a zero sum game with that of palestinian children. they are not dying so you can keep your social security. do you understand that? this is exactly what i mean by joe biden using the election as a bludgeon to continue his genocide. biden is hoping you will be too worried about your rights under trump to oppose a genocide. this is a false binary and you should reject anything that pits your life against that of other human beings. you have eleven months before the election. you can sit here and fret about your social security, or you can call for a ceasefire to stop the hundreds of disabled and elderly palestinians joe biden is killing as we speak. are you going to use your time trying to protect the vulnerable or are you going to use it to condemn them to certain death?
the mistake is to assume either you survive or palestinians do. in fact if more palestinians die, joe biden's re-election will become less and less likely by design. its just how the world works. your future is linked, just not in the way you think it is. if they survive, you survive. if they die—well, your chances are worse, and your survival will be in a much bleaker world where genocide of unwanted populations is widely accepted. this is the nature of solidarity. it strengthens, it doesn't weaken.
you have a choice. either you can let this election threaten you and scramble to protect yourself alone, or you can use this election to threaten biden to protect yourself and everyone else too.

there’s something strangely gutwrenching about the solstice having already passed. there have been minor changes in the “side adventures” of the trio.
they know they’re entering medusa’s house. they go to the arch for sanctuary against echidna and chimera. they go to waterland to help ares and convince hephaestus to stop being like his family. they go to the lotus hotel to get help from hermes.
in the books they’re getting tricked and distracted and losing all of that time on their quest was an accident. but they still made it in the end.
but in the show? they did everything right. they were aware of where they were at all times. but then they go and ask for help.
they try to ask for athena’s help and she lets monsters into her temple because they “embarrassed her.” they try to ask for hermes’ help but he doesn’t tell them until it’s too late that the lotus hotel messes with time.
they basically did everything right on their quest only for their biggest failures to occur because of the gods.
but poseidon gives him four pearls. four, instead of three. one for sally too. but we already know that she gets left behind.
they tried so hard only for the deadline to lapse.

I feel like you can divide the people who play Regina George into “Someone Gets Hurt Reginas” and “World Burn Reginas”. Obviously they’re all amazingly talented and great in the role, it’s just that some have their shining moment in SGH and others in World Burn (because they are both very different songs that require different things).
I think Taylor Louderman, Becca Petersen, Cailen Fu and Olivia Renteria shine better in Someone Gets Hurt, meanwhile Renee Rapp, Mariah Rose Faith, English Bernhardt and Ashley de la Rosa own World Burn.

“If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams”
The martyr, Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya. Reem's greatest fear was not death itself, but rather being remembered only as a statistic after being killed in the Israeli aggression.
She often told her friend Mohammed, "If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams. Tell them that I had undergone LASIK surgery a few months ago and started seeing Gaza with my own two eyes.
Tell them that I want to buy a camera to capture the beauty of Gaza."
Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya is not just a number; she will be remembered. Reem, along with her family, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on January 7, 2024.

i don't know how people don't understand the betrayal that everyone in the global south feels from the way this has gone down, but nobody is more betrayed than those who sincerely wanted and believed in a democratic future. i really want people to wonder how they would feel living in a region where the death of 11,000 children is seen as an international project that all the first-world countries of the world have collaborated on together. the US, the UK, the EU have all come together to encourage israel to slaughter palestinian children. it's not merely silence. it's not a lack of condemnation. it's an active participation. as far as this region is concerned, the democratic future is dead. it was already killed a long time ago. but right now nobody is more empowered than those who never believed in it in the first place. so thank you for the sanctimonious concern about human rights, which we can now gather and bury alongside the fragmented bodies of palestinian children.

Pine Ridge Reservation is in desperate need of donations. Forecasts are calling for -27° conditions before wind chill and most homes rely on wood burning stoves to keep warm. firewood is in short supply and not easy to come by, on top of being expensive
if you have the money to donate, please consider sending some their way

op of the "you can vote fascism out actually" post turned reblogs off (lol) so i'm making my own post but
it is so egregious and insulting for gringo libs to use the pinochet as a shining example of how you actually can vote fascism away, especially as a chilean myself.
obviously a gringo wouldn't know this but for so many chileans the plebiscite itself was a monumental failure, the triumph of reformism over revolution, the cowardice of the older conservative wings of the opposition who effectively shat all over the people who risked their lives to fight the dictatorship.
let me reiterate: pinochet made a deal. he wasn't defeated, he made a fucking deal. and it allowed him to cement his own policy and constitution in the transition to democracy. this included the binominal electorate system that gave the right wing disproportionate representation in the government, the AFPs which are privatized pensions that LITERALLY STEAL THE PENSIONS of older chileans effectively keeping them in poverty and unable to retire, the privatization of water, the protecting of the military and the militarized police that actually comitted the atrocities of the dictatorship (as well as their income. to this day the copper mining industry provides a percentage of its profits to the military), as well as TOTAL IMMUNITY to Pinochet so he could never be tried at home and a special seat as a lifetime senator. like??? how exactly was this a win?
to this day chile suffers, the police beat and kill people with impunity, multinational corps have stolen our resources and wealth leaving us with nothing, the indigenous mapuche people are still under militarized occupation.
and this isn't even mentioning the collective trauma of our people, how do you heal from being exiled and tortured, from having your friends and family disappeared and murdered, from 17 years of terror and fear from the secret police if there is no justice? if that bastard never suffered any consequences for his atrocities? if the same shit keeps happening under democracy?
white gringos using our suffering as proof for their own agenda and their defense of biden the war-criminal is an insult and spits on the memory of all fallen. váyanse a la chucha gringos reculiaos.

You know, when you think about it Apple kinda feels like a metaphor for someone who was raised very religious and was taught that anyone who didn’t follow traditions exactly was going to hell.
Because she doesn’t do the things she does for herself necessarily, (don’t get me wrong it probably helps that she benefits quite a bit from it.) she does it because she’s terrified for her friends.
This becomes even more apparent in the books when we see how the headmaster puts Apple in charge of Raven, and criticizes her for not doing enough to stop her. Similarly, a large part of a lot of religions is going to convert others, with the idea of saving them from themselves. Apple firmly believes that if she doesn’t change Ravens mind, then she is responsible for whatever happens to her.
Did anyone else make this connection? Idk maybe I’m just Rambling

no thoughts head empty the oppressive stagnancy of legacy in ever after high dragging me round the block yet again
it’s such a shame that we get so little explanation about the actual mechanics of destiny, which is the entire premise of the show, bc it’s so juicy. like what power does destiny hold when you rip away milton’s lies and centuries of assumptions and traditions. esp bc despite raven signing herself as the evil queen in the real storybook of legends, when the snow white fairytale actually happens in dragon games she’s playing one of the seven dwarves and her mother has reprised her role. like how much of that was because of the characters’ actions and how much was destiny pulling on old, familiar threads. keeps me up at night.
a lot of this is probably just like, plot holes and writer hot potato but i like making it that deep, that’s half of the fun. my personal interpretation is that fate is a wild thing that desires repetition and they developed the system of fairytale legacy bloodlines to keep those repetitions predictable and contained, instead of wreaking havoc whenever and wherever they please.
which lends itself to some really juicy exploration of how legacy is a duty as much as it is a privilege, and how to be a princess or a witch or a hero or a dragon is to be the same thing in the end: the lamb destiny slaughters on the altar to sate the ever-ravenous narrative. to keep the flock safe. keep the unknown that prowls beyond the beaten path at bay. because if a there is always a mother who will be cruel, or a maiden who will fall into a sleep like death, or a child who will become a bird, isn’t it better to know who, and how, and when? isn’t better if it’s you, who has known your whole life that you must be eaten, be poisoned, be stripped of your humanity, rather than anybody else, who wasn’t raised to see it as an honour instead of a great and terrible injustice?

something I really love about ever after high is that every character that’s even slightly portrayed as a villain or antagonist actually has a reason for being that way besides “that’s just how they are”. Actually fleshed out, 3 dimensional antagonists arent something you see a lot of in kids shows.
for example, Kitty and Faybelle are mean and chaotic, not just because they want to be, but because they idolize their mothers. They want to live up to their mothers legacies and expectations more than anything else.
Lizzie has been trained her whole life to become a queen know for being bold, angry, and ruthless; making it difficult to express any emotion outside of those qualities. She’s also currently stranded in a confusing world that constantly misunderstands her.
Duchess is cursed with a terrible ending to her story, and will do anything to get her own happy ending, even if it means sacrificing friendships.
Ramona only appears to be a mean girl on the outside, she uses that appearance and rivalry with cerise to protect herself and her family.
Blondie is just very hard-working. She is very set on her goals and will do anything to achieve them. She won’t let anyone get in her way.
Apple has been groomed from birth to believe she must hold tradition above all else. She’s been told many lies by those she has always put her trust in, and she believes those lies wholeheartedly. She tries her hardest to be a good person, but is too set in her ways to see any perspective other than her own.
