I’ve seen a couple ficlets based on this prompt. I’d like to propose a slight alteration.

So Hopper doesn’t trust Eddie because he’s a drug dealer who hangs out with their kids. Eddie disappears at a movie night and he doesn’t even notice that Steve’s missing too. He finds them making out. Cool we’re all caught up.

Where it diverges from the initial prompt is that Hopper makes himself known before he fully processes what’s happening. Steve freaks out.

Hopper is the father figure Steve never had, his own father being a real piece of shit. Steve’s super afraid that Hopper’s going to essentially disown him, or use his position as the chief of police to do something worse.

Eddie has to help Steve work through the panic. Breathing exercises and calming words and “Hopper’s not going to do anything. Right, Hopper?” He says it like he’s threatening Hop, and they both know he couldn’t do anything if he tried, but it’s undeniably protective. He’s subtly putting himself between Hopper and Steve.

It’s the thing that makes him realize that Eddie’s not someone to worry about being around. And of course he agrees that he would never do anything about this, keeping his distance to calm both the panicking Steve and glaring Eddie

Racism?

implying that bands led by men of color like fob are inherently less deep in their themes has been my biggest pet peeve with mcr fans. it's blatant that they've never interacted with the source material and they say shit like "pete wentz just writes about partying and being famous" when most of pete's lyrics are of this quality
