Chantal Akerman’s News From Home is such a beautiful potrait of what life away from home used to be like. And I say used because the film takes place in the 70′s, before cell phones and social media completely changed the way we communicate with each other. It is entirely shot in the streets of NYC, the perfect setting to depict the passing of time.
