Ikaw
(Elehiya)
Ika’y dumating at nagbigay sigla
Sa buhay kong nakakawalang gana
Kaya wala na akong mas hihilingin pa
Kundi sa tabi ko’y bumalik ka
Masakit man kung iisipin

ICT Weekly Blogs: A gift for the holidays
Tumblr media
Week 8: December 7 - 11
Hohoho! It's almost Christmas! Grab your cup of hot coco 'coz this will be our last ride before our Christmas break. Make sure you leave santa some cookies and a warm milk. And now, for the question of the year: Have you been naughty??
I must say though, I don't really feel the Christmas spirit compared to last year. Probably because of the pandemic and the tons of summative tests we took. Neverthelesss, my wishlist for the gift giving on our supposed-to-be Christmas party is literally ready. But, because of the pandemic, it will be cancelled. Bummer. Nah nevermind, I'll just buy myself a present. I think deserve it.  (So... Mom, please don't get mad if I bail out once the pakage is ready for payment. Just consider it a Christmas gift from you.)
Anyways, my schedule for the whole week is fully packed! I had to do this, I had to do that... it's hectic. It's hard to squeeze one more subject in one day; our headaches might get headaches geez.
Here's one good news though—Tuesday's a holiday, meaning, we don't have classes. But alas, our joy completely vanished after a few seconds. Why?? 'coz we're having make-up classes. Supposedly, our quiz was due on Tuesday, but like I said, it's a holiday. Regardless, we still have that very little glimpse of hope that our sir Peralta will give us an early Christmas gift and let us pass the quiz. We tried so hard to be convincing but no avail.
Before all of that happened, sir Peralta sent the scoresheet for our upcoming quiz. This is also the trigger that made us want to get the quiz over with.
Apparently, our hands-on quiz was moved to Wednesday morning. We had minor complications about the time but it was all figured out. In the end, THE NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE.
I was sweating buckets before class started. I kept reviewing the files we coded, hoping it will give me even just a little bit of information I need to pass our so-called Christmas gift.Minutes after my breakdowns, sir Peralta finally sent the output we're about to code.

Tumblr media
At first look, we can all say that this is just hard as hell 'coz it looks like there are tons of overlaps and whatnot. Well, I'm just as confused as you are. I never even imagined that this will be the outcome. I guess you could say it's on a whole new level. And with a limited amount of time—45 minutes, to be exact, we have to code this entire thing. I'm having doubts I can finish this in time. We have another einstein problem.
I followed sir Peralta's advice to code it step by step, so I just followed the score-sheet and worked my way from there. My hands were trembling as I type in the code. Oh Santa please help me.
There were some flaws in the scoresheet sir Peralta gave us but it was all ok. The part that gave me a headache was those 2 boxes. I really squeezed my brain to find out how box#3 and box#4 works. I can't find the flaw in my code. SO WHICH ONE IS IT?
I constantly did breathing exercises 'coz I'm panicking.
Sir Peralta, then, gave us a hint. I think it's about putting which one goes first. I don't really remember much but you get the point, right?
In the end, I managed to finish it. I adjusted parts of it because the output is different and I had no choice because I was running out of options, so some of the box positions are different from the scoresheet.
Anyways, we can say that this hands-on quiz feels like your whole life is on the line. That means, I have to pass this one way or another.
By the way, I might as well share this. So, if I had a hard time coding this, then what more in the future? How about the apps we use? Their codes must be harder than this; considering I've repeatedly opened tumblr's HTML code plus part of google's embedded codes. All I can say is, praise to all programmers out there! I can truly feel the pain and hardwork you've put up. I wish I have those skills.
Anyways, IT"S FINALLY OVER. A big part of me was glad it was not postponed to next year. My brain will probably rest and remove all the unnecessary information during our Christmas break and that's probably all that I've learned so far. Hopefully not though.
Hang in there guys, hell week is almost over. WE CAN DO THIS! I hope santa will leave a nice present for all of you! Happy holidays! Lovelots! Stay tuned! See y'all again next year! Comment down one item on your wishlist... maybe santa will grant it.

ICT Weekly Blogs: Crash landing on my bed
Tumblr media
Week 7: December 1 - 4
Hey y’all! Man, It’s been a week!! Time flies fast on weekends am I right? I didn’t even have time to enjoy my leisure time. Anyways, here’s another stressful ride on my train of thoughts.
My mind is a complete mess right now. My weekend is just fully packed with more modules. From what I remember, I chose online distance learning to escape answering these modules. My thoughts were wrong, ODL is worst—especially in the special science program. I thought I was well adjusted since it’s been seven weeks but nah, my body is ready to give up. I just need to do my best in surviving one last school year in SSP — I hope I will though.
Our ICT teacher informed us that we will be having a 20 item quiz in our upcoming meeting. That was basically bad news for me because, I barely remember the topics discussed last meeting. My mind is just full of random stuffs I can’t even handle. So I prayed for the quiz to be easy—enough for me to handle.  Compared to last time’s quiz, we haven’t really panicked the night before; maybe before our hands-on quiz though.
Quiz day! There were some questions I had a hard time answering. It was on the tip of my tongue but I can’t seem to remember it. In the end, I got 12/20. It’s ok though. I just need to do a better job next time.
After quiz, sir Peralta gave us another practice activity in preparation for our hands-on quiz. The output and code is almost the same as the previous one, so I just replicated the old one. The difference this time is... we need to use external style sheets in coding. I already have knowledge about external files so I can catch up. My big problem while I was coding is... I CAN’T GET IT TO WORK.
Someone eventually got the correct code—Herxie, so I copied it but I still can’t get it to work! I let out a heavy sigh. I paused for a mini breakdown session. I think I was running out of brain cells since I’ve done a lot of trial and errors. My eyes are highkey dried out. Later on, I got teary eyed—probably because I haven’t been wearing my glasses. It’s a little bit irritating so I don’t wanna wear it for today but sir Peralta noticed me and told me to wear it.
After several breakdowns, I finally got it to work. It just overlapped so I thought it wasn’t working. SWEET RELIEF!
Our teacher gave us another practice,  this time we used inline style sheet, but it was quite easy. You just need to create a new <div> tag and adjust the positions. Since I was slow, someone passed the correct code before me but yea, it’s ok. I quite adjusted in the end even though it was a little bit late. After classes, I just laid flat on my bed without any intention on getting back up and finishing the remaining modules.
Man! I wonder what kind of file we need to code in our hands-on quiz. I hope I can catch up. I don’t wanna fail.
In conclusion, I’m bad at programming; what more at JavaScript T^T
Anyways, it’s been a rough ride isn’t it? My train of thought is just a complete mess right now. Can’t wait for our next ride! Comment down your thoughts and the best stress reliever—although I already have mine. So yeah! See you in my next blog! <33

ICT Weekly Blogs: More brainwork!
Tumblr media
Week 6: November 23 - 27
Welcome back to my train of throughts! Did you all had a fun weekend? Mine was... somewhere in between ok and in the verge of losing my mind. Anyways, I hope you’ll continue to stick around!
A day after evaluation day... wow. It’s been hectic! I’ve been stopping myself from overthinking after our teacher sent our blog site links. I knew I haven’t done a great job because I haven’t been paying much attention into designing my blog site. I thought we were just gonna write about our day. NO ONE TOLD ME TO DESIGN IT. It’s not that important tho. I got 98/100 —which is amazing honestly, because I wasn’t expecting it since I’m not that proud. Their site templates are out of this world, you could really say their blogs reflect their personalities. Anyways, congrats!! You all did well! <3
To start off, sir peralta gave us a review about the files we coded. He also taught us the new tags we have encountered the past week. If you read my past blogs, you’ll find out that the <div> ,<em> and span> tags are the ones we haven’t thoroughly tackled because of the lack in time. This day is much more doable since I can follow through our discussions —slowly but surely.
I learned that the  <div> tag is used as a container for HTML elements—which is then styled with CSS or manipulated with JavaScript. Although, I hate the idea of us coding in JavaScript, because it is like creating your own app but more less complex, depending on the features that you want. But I wanted to try it for fun even though I don’t have the knowledge of Nam Do San and his colleagues. They’re from the ongoing K-drama entitled Start-up, go watch it if you want. It may help you get yourself motivated in coding.
 #PROMOTER
(pls don’t reply with RNA Polymerase)
The next tag which is the <span> tag is  used to group elements for styling purposes using the class or id attributes—we haven’t thoroughly discussed about its other uses though but yeah, I really hope I’d do better next time.
Example:
<span class="classname">name</span> or span.name { }
It can be embedded or inline.
But, as I said, we haven’t tackled this type of possibility. I just searched it on google for additional information and a little heads-up. Here’s an example of what we tackled so far:
<span style=“ “></span>
Yes, it’s much easier.
So, I really though my train of thought was going to be a smooth ride. Guess what? SIKE. It’s not. Our teacher gave us a last minute activity to code. I thought it was going to be a take home activity, I mean, I’m already home so is it considered as one? Nevermind.
Using google docs, we were able to access the guidelines. My mind was a mess, I don’t even know where to start? At first glance, the guidelines’ code was really familiar so I searched for the file I currently coded and revised it a little bit. Our classmates kept sending their screenshots of the output but none of them got it right. So I made it my guide on how to get this to work properly.
Then our teacher asked us to purely embed the code. I was like “I used the I.D tag?? HOW?” I was on the verge of giving up but then, i found a way to get it to work using the embedded type of coding. But I still don’t know which tags to use so I created random. In the end, Herxie managed to get it right. Although, I think I may have managed to get it done on time if it wasn’t for our slow wifi.
Anyways, it was just a practice for our upcoming hands-on quiz. Although, I think we’re having another warm-up because we had a hard time.
Ok this wraps up our weekly blog! Stay tuned as we go on a journey on my train of thoughts! See you next week!

ICT Weekly Blogs: What a ride!
Tumblr media
Week 5: November 16 - 20
Hi guys! Welcome back to my final blog in 1st Quarter. Wow, it’s almost evaluation.I can’t believe we made it this far! Have you enjoyed the ride?
Man! What a ride! It's been 5 weeks since our online class started. I’m kind of getting used to sitting in front of my laptop all day. Eye strains are no longer a problem with the help of my anti-radiation glasses. If anyone asks, I broke the first one so my dad had to buy me a new one—he made me pay though. My problem, as of now, is my microphone—they say it’s static, so I hope it will cooperate during my reportings.
In my opinion, it has been a chill week. We had a long weekend and I finished most of my modules so I had a lot of time for recreation—best weekend so far. To be honest, I’m kind of getting adjusted to our ODL. I haven’t been participating that much though because of anxieties, but I’ll get through it sooner or later.
In our meeting this week, sir Peralta discussed the files we coded the past week. To be honest, I couldn’t really follow through the lesson because my phone kept lagging so I couldn’t open the file. Though, I was able to access it before we started to revise the code.
First, we started to code the external style sheet file. Our teacher asked us to change the font colors using external style sheets. I was kind of confused at first but I slowly followed. We also used the ID style tag and the span tag which can be coded using inline style sheets.
We also learned about creating a style class. This class style can be applied to individual tags when needed. To apply this kind of style tag, you need to assign a name for the class attribute and your will insert it in the <p> tag and it will be like <p class=name> where the name is the name of the class.
To be honest, I had a hard time coding this type of style tag but I sorted it out in the end. I was really lost in the middle of coding because I could not follow which file we are about to revise.
We also learned how to code layers. Our teacher asked us to change the height and width of the code in each layer to see its effect on the output. I was constantly massaging the temples on my head because I’m a little bit stressed on what is going on—hence, the GIF I inserted at the top.
Thankfully, I was able to learn something new before class ended. It was a little bit confusing but I manifested it in the end. Man, programming is really tough when it comes to coding, especially in ODL. Everyone can agree that face to face learning is much better for everyone but since DepEd is too immature, a lot of students suffered. (Please don’t hate me for saying that.)
ICT, it was quite the adventure actually. We meet problems everyday and yet, we continue to move forward and try to manifest the knowledge we just got. We survived the first quarter in ODL. I couldn’t be more proud of my classmates. We did great actually.
Although, I hope we will do much better in the 2nd quarter since we were a little adjusted to this new mode of learning.
Can’t wait for our next ride together in my train of thoughts! See you in my next blog! Love you all!

ICT Weekly Blogs: Hands-On Quiz
Tumblr media
Week 4: November 9 - 13
Hi guys! Welcome back to another ride on my train of thoughts! It’s week 4 for my weekly ICT blogs! Man, this is a fun journey, am I right?
Time does travel fast when you’re not paying too much attention to it. Unlike any other day, there is one day I haven’t been looking forward to—our quiz day. First of all, I really hate hands-on quizzes, especially on ICT. Why? Because coding gives me headaches. Not only do we need to memorize the correct codes, we also need to properly code it; depending on what our teacher wants us to do. It could be easy as pie or hard as a diamond.
Monday night, the night before quiz day. I was doing breathing exercises to calm myself before going to bed or else I might have a hard time sleeping. I was currently doing my remaining modules when I suddenly received a notification from sir Peralta, our ICT adviser.
My heart suddenly raced like hell. I did continuous breathing exercises before opening the notification.
“download this file. password will be revealed tomorrow.” and a file was attached. “you can try to crack it. pm me the pw para ma-exempt sa quiz” it says.
As usual, the class went nuts. We were thrilled to crack the code because, who wouldn’t want to get exempted? So I rushed to open my laptop and quickly downloaded the file. I was really desperate for exemption.
As soon as I opened it, it just seemed like a normal html file. So I asked myself, “how do we crack this?” , “what kind of password?” and “am I the only one who doesn’t know what to do?” I really squeezed my brain for information while watching my classmates’ chaos. Sooner or later, I gave up and asked our teacher what to do.
Eventually, our teacher realized that he sent the wrong file. I nearly fainted after seeing the notification. Part of me was happy knowing I don't have to push my brain to its limit, the other part of me was devastated for not getting a chance to get exempted.
Quiz day quickly approached like lightning. I was sweating buckets as the time for our ICT class approaches. My heart was racing and my hands are sweaty. I kept reviewing the score sheet sir Peralta gave us because, who knows what kind of website he wants us to code? My heart dropped when I received the link for our google meet.
Quiz time! My hands are shaking as I type in the codes. I felt a little bit pressured when I couldn't find the background code for the header. My laptop constantly lags so I kept praying for it to cooperate. Overall, the position of the text shadow is the one that stresses me most because I have to do all sorts of trial and errors for it to work.
Finally, I passed it right on time. It was really stressful but I felt relieved because it was finally over. I made a few mistakes but it's ok, I know I did my best. One of wishes is that I hope I will successfully finish our future quizzes and assessments. Best of luck to all my classmates! We can do this!
See you in my next blog <3
*****
Here's the result of my quiz. I think I made a mistake on the background of the Einstein paragraph but yeah, there's nothing I can do. My quiz result was 120/135. It's not that bad though and I promise to do better in the future :)

ICT Weekly Blogs: Testing our knowledge
Tumblr media
Week 3: November 2 - 6
Welcome back to another ride on my train of thoughts! We have now survived for 3 weeks in our ICT class!
Man, this week has been hectic! First of all, we've been informed that we are having our first ever assessment in ICT. I don't know about everyone else, but it made me nervous. After all, quizzes, performance tasks, and assessments never failed in giving me a shock. However, I was a little bit worried about our quiz content or how we will take it.
Would it be hands-on? Where will we code using css real-time? Or just a simple quiz with multiple choices or identifications? Thankfully, it was just a 20 item quiz. I made a few mistakes, though, because I didn't notice the instruction and used uppercase letters instead of lowercase. Don't blame me; I got used to typing the RGB codes in caps, so I thought it doesn't apply. I got 17 if anyone asks. But it's not that bad, and I did my best, so congrats to the rest of us.
To start off, our ICT teacher gave us a new set of files to code after we took the quiz—14, to be exact. Yes, it may seem a lot, but we just have to type in the code so we wouldn't have a hard time in trying to get it to work.
The only problem is whether you type in the codes correctly; after all, we're not perfect. There's a chance we might have a hard time getting it to work. Regardless, I still managed to pass it on the same day because I don't want my activities to pile up and find myself cramming in the end.
During the discussion, sir Peralta, our ICT teacher, taught us the different kinds of style sheets which is embedded, inline and external. Their strengths depend on how you want to code the file, but as of now, I prefer embedded so that the style codes won't get mixed up with the rest. But as I said, it all depends on how you want to code it.
In my opinion, I was really amazed by the result of the first file. (I'll insert it in the end so all of you will also get an idea of how it looks.) Yes, I coded it but I didn't expect that to be the result. The rest of the files, for me, was not that surprising because I already experienced it last school year. But it was all coming back to my memories, so I hope I won't have a hard time.
There were some new tags included in the files we have to code. From what I remember, it was kind of like an attribute, and its value is the one embedded in the style tag. The <em>, <span> and <div> tags which I don’t really know how to use.
I don't really get it, as of now, but I'm sure I will learn to get used to it somehow. After all, our next assessment is hands-on. Meaning we get to code in real-time. It kind of makes me nervous, considering I always had a hard time coding during our hands on assessments last school year. I may also have a hard time remembering the codes, so wish me luck. Plus, my laptop's been glitching lately, so I hope it doesn't get in the way while I'm coding.
Overall, I think we need more time to understand more on this topic since a lot of new tags are added. Anyway, I had a good time, and I hope to learn more about this journey. To my classmates, let us do our best to survive our last school year in the special science program. See you in my next blog! Fighting!!

Here’s the program I’m talking about. It’s quite pleasing in the eye so... that may be the reason why it intrigued me :)

ICT Weekly Blogs : A fun and stressful week!
Tumblr media
Week 2: October 26 - 30
Welcome back in my weekly ICT blogs! Thank you for staying tuned! Now let us all take a ride on my train of thoughts!
Wow it’s been 2 weeks!! It’s week 2 of our online distance learning and yes, week 1 was hell. I really thought my brain might explode from all the assigned modules and believe me or not, there’s no sarcasm included when I say my soul almost left my body. They may think we have all the time in the world when apparently, we don’t. I don’t blame them though, because I know they have it worst and it’s not really their fault. But I guess our exposure to radiation is too much than usual because the activities we need to do after our classes still requires the use of our gadgets. I think the only improvement, for me, is that my body pains are not that painful anymore.
They were right, we’re just not yet adjusted to sitting for almost two hours looking at our screens. But my head still hurts from all the new information, I’ll just give it some time to keep up, after all, it became dormant for more less 7 months.
In my opinion, every day is definitely not the same and every week is just full of surprises—besides the nonstop modules. To be honest, we received information that our subject teacher, sir Peralta, lost their electricity. To teachers, that’s bad news, but as a student, of course, we rejoiced—I mean, who wouldn’t? We’re still happy knowing we will pay for it later—pay as in, rushed works and overtimes; I sure did because I didn’t get to watch the new episode I’ve been looking forward to, but despite that, at least we received a little recreation.
Alas, our fear came true. Our teacher had to travel 13.1 kilometers to get to school and for us to continue our lessons and yes, I searched the distance. I guess that’s the downside of having an online class. No electricity, No classes. I kind of felt relieved though, because if it wasn’t for our classes, I might’ve had a hard time understanding our lesson if our teacher made us self study.
To be honest, I quite enjoyed our ICT class for today because we formatted our CSS files real time. Despite having a hard time knowing the correct properties to use, I really enjoyed it. Want to know why? Because I kept laughing at myself for having to use trial and error and the result is still wrong—but I got it right in the end. To be honest, I’m a little lost during our lesson because there are a lot of properties and values I need to remember. I had to push my brain to its limits because my dumb brain can’t keep up.
The pressure is on when our teacher decided to give additional 10 points to the one who got the correct code. I was surprised that style sheets can even do all that. All we need to do is to copy and paste the code but I can’t get it to work. I pasted it in every part of the second header selector but it still won’t work.
Then I realized my mistake, I forgot to copy the property, I only pasted the value, that’s why I can’t get it to work. It was too late for my realization because one of our classmates already got it right, but even if I did, my laptop’s too slow to keep up.
My mind was a complete mess during our class. The one thing I can say for sure is it’s really stressful. I kind of forgotten the feeling of coding and having to use trial and error and getting pissed during the process for not getting it to work, despite that, I really enjoyed it deep inside.
In conclusion, it was a fun journey to begin with. ICT is full of surprises that will totally mess with your head. My stress level in this subject is almost as much as my stress level in math. But it’s not that bad, it kind of okay once you get used to it. And despite the stress and anxieties, I will try my best in this subject. I know we will get through this successfully, especially with the help of our ICT teacher, sir Richard Peralta. Please continue to share your knowledge with us for we are yearning to learn more. I can’t wait for week 3. See you in my next blog! <3

ICT Weekly Blogs: The Start of our Journey
Tumblr media
Week 1: October 19 - 23
Hi guys! Welcome to my first ever blog in ICT! Now, pay attention as we take a ride on my train of thoughts.
As you all know, we have now officially started our online class in this new normal mode of learning and in my experience, I had a very good start. I haven’t yet encountered problems I couldn’t handle. Although, during classes, we mostly suffer from back pains, eyestrains and headaches—though my eyes are not that painful due to the anti-radiation glasses my dad bought for me. Mom told me I just haven’t adjusted to this new mode of learning, though this will definitely affect my body in the future.
To be honest, I’m a little bit nervous regarding our ICT subject because I kind of had a hard time coding in our ICT subject last school year. We had to memorize all the tags, its attributes and values, its properties, how to correctly use it and many more. But that’s not all, we also learned how to code image maps, flow charts and visual basics and I can assure you that we had a hard time learning everything.
We had to fall back every time we received the notification for our quiz because we did not have the courage to take it since we may encounter something new and not included in our discussion.
In short, we need the time to grab our courage because we’re mostly afraid of failing and going in unprepared. And based on the opinions of the former einsteins, it was so hard that it made them cry—that gave us enough reason to get nervous. But after reading the sent file by our ICT teacher beforehand, I felt a little relieved—for now.
To start off, our ICT teacher likes to make jokes which makes our lessons a little less suffocating. They say little laugh could brighten up the mood in just a second and I kind of agree. We started off by learning about cascading style sheets and how to use it in a format. I’m a little bit confused on how to code the property and property value since it’s kind of new and because we mostly use attributes last school year and haven’t fully learned about the other properties and values. The only difference is that we don’t have to validate the file because it also works without the doctype statement.
Besides that, everything is kind of the same and I didn’t have a hard time coding the given activity since I already have some experience and we only have to recreate the code. But I think I’ll have a hard time memorizing the different properties since my brain hasn’t fully recovered from the 7 months of lockdown.
Overall, I think I also had a pretty good start in our ICT subject and I wish it will remain consistent. But you know what they say, “No pain, No gain.” Of course I expect it to be a rough path. I may not get it from the start, but I will work hard to survive it. I’ve faced countless problems in the past and I believe that this is just another situation I need to face in order to grow and surpass my limits.
That’s all! Thank you for taking part in my ICT journey! See you in my next blog <3
