Since people seem to care so much about Meghan’s mixed race heritage, why not talk about a lady of full African descent marrying a prince? So here’s Princess Angela of Liechtenstein (born February 3rd, 1958). She was born Angela Gisela Brown in Panama, and was originally a fashion designer with her brand A. Brown. She is, because of her 2000 marriage to Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein, the highest ranking black woman in terms of title in Europe, her title being Her Serene Highness. She is 11 years older than her husband, and recently celebrated her 60th birthday. HSH Princess Angela and HSH Prince Maximilian have one child, Prince Alfons (May 18th 2001).

 Of course, Liechtenstein being so small and all, the media hasn’t taken a notice yet, sadly. 

I personally really like Princess Angela. She seems very friendly and kind, like how her and husband seem to plant trees every year.

She was in the town to visit the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development’s (AECID) water distribution project which aims to help families who don’t have access to clean drinking water. Doria Ragland Appreciation Post: Mom Always Has Your Back

Thank you Doria for handling everything with grace, class, and beauty. Even though part of your had to be so nervous, you handled it all like you had been having tea with Queen and waving to adoring crowds all your life. You made sure you were there supporting your daughter on one of the most important days of her life, and you did it with style. 

That’s what real mommas do! 

No wonder Meghan (and from what we’ve heard Harry) adore you so much.

Loved the wedding. I will admit, the Reverend’s 14 minute sermon was a bit much lol, but it was still a lovely wedding. I wish Harry and Meghan much happiness. (Now it’s time to wait for Eugenie and Jack’s wedding! Even more love this year!)

That is ridiculous. There is no way H. H. Holmes could’ve carried out the Whitechapel murders. As far as I can tell, he killed in the US and Canada, no where else. These people are pulling everything out to try and make Meghan out to be some kind of monster.

What do you think about Meghan Markle?

I really know nothing about her. I haven’t any reason to think she isn’t a lovely person. I confess her style is a bit jarring because it’s not what one would call quintessentially British, which is what one would expect in a soon-to-be-royal of such centrality. I suppose my standard is intractably set by Kate.

So, I would say she is for us an excellent lesson in the duality of a royal. On the one hand, royals without question have certain duties and responsibilities that come with the role, especially if they’ve chosen it as an adult. On the other hand, each of them is an individual person who should – as we all should – be ourselves within the realms of our responsibilities. That she doesn’t conform to my mental images says nothing of her as a person or a royal.

Besides all of which, she appears to love Harry and make him happy. In the end, that must triumph over all.
