a whole room of chairs! apparently they are the most “human” of objects, so they are a litmus test of who someone is as a designer according to the Danes.

the two big exhibits at the design museum were: 1. How Japanese design has effected Danish design and 2. A retrospective of the designer of Balmain (one of my favorite designers) in the 80’s so both were very much up my alley.

Nicolai’s cousin Sybille invited me to a friend of her’s house for dinner (yummy Thai curry). then we went to an experimental performance art show in a warehouse and a few bars. it was a very fun night, and I️ learned a lot about Danes including that they don’t take pictures of everything like American youths, so this is the only photo I have.

really excellent brunch at a place a friend recommended: corn pancake with guacamole, sour cream with herbs and spice in oil, a poached egg and lox. also there are lit candles on all the tables I️ have seen here, even at breakfast. very cozy.
