anyway can we talk about cas growing his hair out?? it's not something he thinks about until dean mentions how long it's getting and cas looks in the mirror and runs his hands slowly through the lengths and smiles and says "yeh. it is". And then he keeps letting it grow because it's his hair and for the first time in forever cas doesn't feel temporary anymore. he doesn't feel like he's just waiting for the next time he'll be ripped away from the people he loves. he's real and he's here and his hair is almost brushing the tops of his shoulders and it gets in his face and he has to wash it more often and the tangles seem to appear out of nowhere but none of it bothers him bc it means he's alive and he's carving out a place for himself in the world and a home in his body.
