the canonical stevebucky line that fucks me up the most is from the infinity prelude when steve tells bucky: ‘I’ve told you time and time again, I’m with you till the end of the line’

Irish feminists are reclaiming the ancient sheela na gigs images, which you find on church and castle walls all through the Middle Ages and are thought to ward off evil or promote fertility. All over Dublin, Project Sheela is putting the clay figures in front of symbolic places that represent women’s struggles, such as Magdalene laundries.
Sheela na gigs are particularly numerous in Ireland, but they also exist in other European countries.
It seems that once you see a sheela na gig, it is impossible to let go of it. We may never know the truth about how they came to be, but what matters is how they are seen as symbols now: powerful, important, unashamed depictions of female genitalia and inner strength. Centuries later, this mysterious figure is offering hope still, in all her glory, as a new generation depict her in their own way.
