Cross posting this last story to ff.net and AO3 has been pretty illuminating.

A great many people on ff.net are…unnecessary in their comments.  I’ve noticed a definite uptick in entitlement and irritation with what they’re being presented.  It’s been especially bad since everyone started sheltering at home.  I think everyone is stressed in quarantine, devouring free content like fanfic, and then taking their undirected anger at the universe out on whatever they’re reading.

I’ve deleted SO MANY anonymous comments over the last month.  I don’t do that if people have valid criticisms or are at least polite (or if the review is AMAZING in its level of hatred and I have to keep it up to show Fabs and laugh about later).  So it takes a lot for me to delete stuff.

Plus, I realized today that Avatar was just released on Netflix, so I’m worried there will be surge in negativity on my Avatar fics from a decade ago.

If you follow me on fanfic.net, I am leaving you now.  I’ll keep everything up, but I’m debating turning off review notifications.  However, you are free to come read along on AO3!  I didn’t even mention it over on ff.net, but I’m planning a Displaced sequel.
