I believe art exists for the sake of people, as people themselves are constantly changing, day to day. If change is universal, then "Panta Rhei" was born from my desire to continue observing the beaury of the moment. If the earth continues to turn, things will continue to change. That is the orly thing that will never change.
known for his paintings which explore the concept "Ichi-go Ichi-e", translated as *once in a lifetime encounter", Yukimasa Ida is one of the most renowned painters of the new generation of Japanese artists. His first museum exhibition in Japan "Panta Rhei - For as long as the world turns" uses and twists his vocabulary to create a total immersion into his world, hijacking the traditional codes of scenography to celebrate the diversity of a compulsive, bounteous body of work. Encompassing both his abstract and figurative work, his paintings and sculptures, as well as his large-scale and small scale formats, the exhibition brings together all the elements of the artist's language, allowing the visitor to truly access his prolific oeuvre. Yukimasa Ida's obsessive, almost prolific approach is in the likeness of today's fluid, fast-paced, information-flooded world, in which the artist circulates freely with respect for the diverse works art left behind by his predecessors, crossing the history of art, sometimes quoting, sometimes applyng. Bridging abstract and figurative elements with ease, he explores the permeability of the border between the two, switching innately from his paintbrush to modeling clay, from portraits to landscapes. Making his way between the past, the present and the future, with the dexterity of the new generation, the Japanese artist thwarts any notion of style that would limit him to a single image directory. Celebrating his broad and fluid approach, the exhibition brings to light his ! position as an arlist in complete freedom.
