The crocodile wager paradox of the internet
Dear friends of Tumblr,
Today at my school we had an assembly about internet predators and when I had said that most of my true friends are over the internet and they gave me a lecture about how “I don’t know who I’m talking to” blah blah. So please, if you aren’t a predator in any way, please reblog so i can prove a point.

No, kids should not have unsupervised acess to the internet.   Yes, I got that and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.    Its a paradox.

paulo puts it beautifully, “violence is initiated by those who oppress, who exploit, who fail to recognize others as persons — not by those who are oppressed, exploited, and unrecognized.” the inciting incident that has brought out the unfettered wrath and anger in some against white people is 400+ years, 7 continents and millions of lives destroyed. it is a wrath that has been earned over centuries.
paulo also sums up the reaction to this as well “for the oppressors, however, it is always the oppressed who are disaffected, who are “violent,” “barbaric,” “wicked,” or “ferocious” when they react to the violence of the oppressors.” perfectly put. oppressors and those who have joined the oppressors class never see the violence of white supremacy, never see the unabashed, multi-layered, multi-faceted violence of white supremacy. they’ve turned a deaf ear and a blind eye to it but a black person’s reaction to it, if it contains any aggression is the problem. malcolm preached self-defense, not violence for violence sake, but self-defense which may indeed from time to time require violence since you're defending yourself against violence since you are defending yourself against people who would want to lynch you or police who would simply want to murder you with their state equipped state-sanctioned guns. but those who would label him as violent without this context do so in support of those who have been violent against black people for centuries. because their analysis is never pointed towards the murderous white supremacy and white racial hatred that initiated all of this. they are silent about that but those who would defend themselves are labeled barbarians. it’s akin to getting upset when a rape victim pulls out a gun and shoot her (or his) rapist but yet that same upset person never saw and never had a word to say when said rapist was doing all that raping right in front of your eyes. smfh. and why do they do this? because they support the violence of white supremacy in all its forms because they know as white people they are benefiting from it.

I love you being trans I love you trans women i love you gender exploration I love you self discovery
[link to the Reddit post]
[ID: two screenshots of a reddit post on r/offmychest by user awaythrowjessie, titled "My girlfriend made me realize I'd be happier as a woman". it reads as follows:
I am 33, born male, and have had major self image issues my entire life. I hated seeing myself in mirrors, pictures, you name it. I honestly thought it was kinda normal so I just accepted it.
Now about 3 weeks ago I was at my girlfriends house, we have been dating a little over a year now, and have plans to move in together soon. Now recently she has shaved her head to support of her friends with cancer (side note thenl treatments for that friend are going very well). She had since bought some wigs to wear while her hair grows back out. We were joking around as I have male pattern baldness, and when she went to the bathroom I jokingly threw a wig on and waited. She came our, saw me we laughed for a bit and she said "you know I think you'd make a pretty girl" we laughed some more but those words triggered something in me.
Cut to a few night's ago she asked why I've been acting weird lately and I just told her how i was feeling. She said "alright let's do this " and when I asked what she told me she was going to give me a bit of a makeover and put me in one of her dresses and if i liked it then good. I was nervous and asked what if I did like it would she still be attracted to me. She just responded with "Baby you know I'm bi, guy or girl you're still mine." Her words reassured me honestly i love her so much.
Anyways she finished the make up, fitted a wig on me perfectly and got me in a dress and even helped me put a bra on and stuff in a little so i could see what breasts would kinda look like on me. Now I expected to see myself in the mirror, laugh this off and move on right, but I didn't. She did an unbelievable job, like I looked like I had been born a woman, and when I saw myself in the mirror for the first time in my entire life, I liked what I saw. I probably stared at myself for a good 10 minutes before she finally asked me something. She asked what I wanted to be called. After a few seconds I said Jessie, I always like the name Jessie. She whispered in my ear "well Jessie, you look beautiful." And that was it, I knew this was who i wanted to be.
I'm nervous now though, my friends will accept it but my family are, well let's just say not very progressive. But this is what I want.

Ice age children frolicked in 'giant sloth puddles' 11,000 years ago, footprints reveal
Tumblr media
More than 11,000 years ago, young children trekking with their families through what is now White Sands National Park in New Mexico discovered the stuff of childhood dreams: muddy puddles made from the footprints of a giant ground sloth.
Few things are more enticing to a youngster than a muddy puddle. The children — likely four in all — raced and splashed through the soppy sloth trackway, leaving their own footprints stamped in the playa — a dried up lake bed. Those footprints were preserved over millennia, leaving evidence of this prehistoric caper, new research finds.
Tumblr media
The finding shows that children living in North America during the Pleistocene epoch (2.6 million to 11,700 years ago) liked a good splash. “All kids like to play with muddy puddles, which is essentially what it is,” Matthew Bennett, a professor of environmental and geographical sciences at Bournemouth University in the U.K. who is studying the trackway, told Live Science.
