no. 10 adopts some of the energy radiating off vice-captain hoshina, including the ones that are about you. (manga spoilers!)
number 10's face wasn't as visible as it used to be. "hoshina. you have a woman?"
hoshina soshiro x fem!reader
ââ â˘
+ weapon no. 10 is just so interested in you and hoshina soshiro is absolutely livid about this. how did you find out?
+ well. rubs hands
+ when number 10 was turned into weapon after its deal that only hoshina soshiro could wear it, it was the start of the chaos that is to be explained right now.
+ of course, it's known that number 10 is the only sentient weapon that the defence force has ever had to deal with, so if anything, hoshina is forced to go through torment almost every single day, which is something he definitely didn't ask for. a numbered weapon? sure, how wonderful, but a talking one?
+ and one that's becoming more and more obsessed with you by the day?? no.
+ the first time hoshina put the suit on, number 10 was just full of bark and bite. he was too focused on making it obey that he didn't have time to think about you. when he wanted to go left, it went right. when he wanted to strike up, its tail dug into the ground. they got into arguments here and there to the point where the operations team wasn't too sure that this could be carried on any longer.
+ the second time was when hoshina had to fight in a simulation with it. it was a test run and okonogi wanted to see how far his abilities would take him. his twin blades were attached to his back and number 10's tail was, for once, poised high in the air, ready to strike at the provided training dummy. their cooperation was better than before, but it still wasn't enough. they continued to bicker like children.
+ it was the third time when number 10 realised that hoshina soshiro had a purpose. not for himself, not for the defence force but for one individual. they were in the middle of making adjustments to the suit when suddenly, number 10 squeezed and hoshina was forced to inhale a sharp breath.
+ "oi!" he winced. "what do you think you're doing?"
+ "hoshina." number 10's face wasn't as visible as it used to be, but everyone in the room was positive that they saw a smirk bounce off of it. "you have a woman?"
+ number 10 hadn't met you. yet. hoshina wanted it to remain that way.
+ "can i see her?"
+ "absolutely not."
+ it asked him every single day, every single bloody time the suit was on his body. "when can i see this special woman?" "never." "hoh, did you meet her today?" "shut up." "i can tell from the way you're still thinking about her." "i'll rip your vocal chords out, if you even have any." "stop thinking about that kiss, it's disgusting." "maybe i'll have to do it more often to shut you up." "ah, your heart is beating faster right now, are you thinking about herâ" "okonogi! get this suit off me!"
+ half of the operations team believe this to be their form of entertainment. the vice-captain is famous for victimising so many of the new recruits with his endless teasing that seeing him about to erupt under number 10's consistent yapping is actually kind of hilarious. they'd never admit that though. their jobs are still important and so are their lives.
+ word spreads fast in the third division. you try to turn a deaf ear to the obvious fact that number 10 is now infatuated by you. you've brought it up to hoshina before, but he's absolutely insistent that you will stay away from it. for your safety and for his sanity. mainly his sanity because now that he knows number 10 feeds off his thoughts, he makes it certain that if it ever hurts youâhe will. oh, he will.
+ we know that hoshina is stubborn, but number 10 is just a different level. it doesn't bother talking to the members of the operation team, it only converses with hoshina because it enjoys his strength and adrenaline when they're paired together, but now it wants to meet you more than ever. now, whenever hoshina wears the suit, he feels like he's unable to breathe the more he refuses number 10's incessant whining.
+ "but you see her everyday," it complains. is it a child?! is it that desperate for a human mother?! hoshina wants to scream. "let me see her too. i want to see what kind of woman is making you even stronger. maybe it will be the same for me."
+ and he can't believe it, he really can't believe it, but he makes it happen.
+ when you enter the roomâwith hoshina so close behind youânone of the operations members dare to speak. hoshina has his hands in his pockets but his eyes pierce into the glowing blue hues of number 10. it's like a mental battle of who's going to break the silence first, and it certainly isn't going to be okonogi, who's on the edge of her seat.
+ "so, you're the woman."
+ you stand a metre away from the glass, a metre away from number 10, the one that almost blew hoshina's head off from the raid. to be honest, as long as it does its job on the battlefield as a numbered weapon, you don't have the biggest qualms against it. sure, it almost flattened hoshina like an ant, but it's under the defence force's command now, so you think it's safer.
+ "what a . . . " it trails off and you feel hoshina's chest pressed against your back. when you agreed to meet number 10, much to hoshina's annoyance, he had made you promise that under no circumstances would you ever go see it alone. it's weaponised, yes, but that still doesn't stop him from worrying or imagining what could happen if he's not there to protect you. he knows you're very capable, but it's just what you do when you're hopelessly in love with someone in a world where love doesn't stop death.
+ "what a splendid choice," number 10 says.
+ it . . . isn't what you expected, but you'll take it. a praise from a kaiju? a daikaiju too? yes, you'll definitely take it.
+ "let me tell you something, woman of hoshina soshiro," number 10 continues. 'woman of hoshina soshiro'âthe nerveâwhat does he think you are, a human pet that was picked up from the road? "he is stronger when he thinks of you, i believe you to be of great value."
+ you're getting free information about hoshina soshiro from a weaponised enemy. is it a win-win or is it a tragedy? but you don't have time to process this because from behind, hoshina pipes up. "if that's all you wanted to say, it's useless. she knows that already."
+ "then, woman of hoshina soshiro, i have a proposal," it says. you hear your vice-captain huff. "make me stronger and i will never let hoshina fall."
+ it's a big request. it's a big proposal. you'd do anything to guarantee hoshina's safety, anyone's safety in a place where everything is so unpredictable, but before you can say anything, hoshina pushes you behind him and glares up at number 10.
+ "that's enough. she'll do no such thing."
+ "i asked her, not you."
+ "i control you, you don't control anyone around me."
+ and from that day onwards, it's not about making improvements towards the suit anymore or 'how does wearing number 10 feel like today, vice-captain?'
+ it's always, "okonogi, dear, it's choking me." "okonogi, is there any way you can make this stupid thing stop talking?" "hoshina soshiro, where is she?" "i told you, she's not going anywhere near you." "think about that woman again, you're too weak right now."
+ on the rare occasion where you're paired with hoshinaâwell, with the addition of number 10, who is very happyâyou admit that hoshina is faster. with number 10, his accuracy is merciless and he's unafraid to slice anything that comes hurtling your way. this is when number 10 sees your abilities too and it's impressed. it scans your every move, the way you streak across the battlefield and blind a yoju with your weapon. it has an unfathomable amount of pride for itself and user, but bit by bit, it starts to extend that to you.
+ and especially when they win against kaiju no. 12 together. you had helped shinonome from the first division, but after hearing about hoshina's victory, you sprint like never before. he's sitting with his head resting against a boulder, his legs stretched and sword carelessly tossed beside him. you don't know if weaponised kaiju ever get tired, but humans certainly do. so, you dash over, gripping his hand and searching for any major injuries, but luckily, when you discover that he's ok, you envelope him in the biggest hug and you don't let go.
+ "when okonogi said you were losing in a close-combat battle," you say, lips lightly pressed against his neck. "i was going to make number 12 wait for me to kill you first."
+ hoshina laughs, raising his hands to smooth your hair. "i'm sure it would've agreed."
+ "you can't kill me, woman of hoshina soshiro."
+ with a blink, you remember that number 10 is still stuck to hoshina, but you snicker as you pull away, sitting in the gap between hoshina's spread out legs. you lean towards the glow in the centre of his chest. "you'll be surprised, suit of hoshina soshiro."
+ you swear you can hear it grumble. "i am not just a suit."
+ "well, i'm not just his woman either," you reply, shrugging when hoshina looks at you in disbelief. are you genuinely having a conversation with . . . a weapon? "if i wore you, you would've given up being sentient."
+ hoshina grins through his bloodied face. you reach out to gently swipe some off the fresh ones off and he leans into your touch. "i agree."
+ you keep your hand on his cheek. "you think i can tame it?"
+ "no, it'll probably grow sick of you."
+ and you pinch him.
+ "stop performing whatever you're doing in front of me," number 10 warns, but when have you or hoshina ever cared about what it thinks? "it is making me sick."
+ hoshina raises his brows. "hoh? (y/n), dear, please continue."
+ "do not."

somnophilia with kaiser would includeâŚ
he asks once. âyou trust me that much, huh? to let me fuck you while youâre out cold?â you nod. he smirks and owns that permission. âgood. youâre mine, no matter what state youâre in.â
he waits until youâre limp and dreaming beside him, one arm draped over his chest, breathing slow, skin warm against his.
heâs smiling like a devil when he lifts the blanket and sees you arenât wearing panties. âgod, youâre such a perfect little thing. always ready for me.â
heâs pulling you onto your back with careful hands, brushing your cheek, âdonât wake up yet, baby. iâm not done admiring you.â
heâs using his fingers first. two, slow and deep. he watches the way your body reacts, your hips twitch, your breathing hitch. âeven unconscious, youâre so greedy for me, my dirty little liebling.â
lining his cock up and pushing in with a breathy, satisfied groan. âfuckâso warm. just like always.â he doesnât rush. he slides in all the way, burying himself like he owns the space.
heâs grinding instead of thrusting at first, watching your body melt around him, murmuring,mâi donât need you awake to feel how much you love me.â
heâs worshipping your body the whole time. hands stroking your sides, mouth pressing slow kisses to your chest, your neck, your jaw. heâs not just fucking you, heâs devouring you.
his voice is low, dirty, and intimate for you. âyou gave me this, remember? said i could take you whenever i wanted. said you trusted me. now look at you. letting me fill you up while you dream about me.â
when you moan in your sleep, he loses it. he stills for a moment, grinning through his teeth, âoh? you feel that, baby? you want more?â and then he gives it to you. hard. deep. possessive.
finishes inside you with a groan against your shoulder, hips stuttering as he grips your thighs tight and ruts into you one final time. âfuckâthere you go. take it. you always do.â
he lays there for a minute, still inside you, watching your peaceful face like itâs the only thing in the world that ever made sense.
he doesnât pull out right away. nah, he likes seeing his cum leak out slowly while youâre still dreaming, body twitching around the mess he made.
and when you start to stir? he kisses your shoulder and murmurs, âmorning pĂźppi. you slept so well⌠want me to do it again?â

You. Author. The way you write characters as a yandere was amazing especially the way you write a story. (Especially the hsr fanfics you made)
Is it alright to request a self-aware au! For yandere soshiro x reader where he finds out he's being watched and can hear the reader's voice whenever they watch an anime?
Like the reader knows about him (since they also read the manga) and he has been obsessed with their attention and wants to drag them into his world.
It started as a feeling.
A strange, crawling sensation at the nape of his neck, just beneath the roots of his hair. The kind that made the skin prickle, the muscles tense, the breath catch in his throat. There were no eyes peering from the shadows, no lingering gazes from those too terrified to meet his. This presence wasnât there, not in any way he could define. And yet, it was constant.
Then, he heard you.
A voice, just barely above a whisperâdrifting through the static of silence.
It was so quiet at first that he thought it was inside his head. But then the words came. Clear.
"He looks different in this scene. The shading makes him seem even colder than usual."
The words had no source, no direction.
He turned sharply, scanning the dimly lit room, his fingers curling into fists. No one.
"I love this part. He looks so cute."
Who was speaking? No, where were they speaking from?
It wasnât the voice of anyone he knew. It was smooth, thoughtful, laced with a kind of familiarity that unsettled him more than anything. Because who could possibly speak about him like that? With such certainty? With such knowledge?
If someone had been watching him all this time, unseen, unnoticedâŚ
Then perhaps it was time he started watching back.
The voice didnât leave him.
At first, it was sporadicâfragments of sentences slipping through the silence like whispers through a keyhole. But as time passed, it became clearer.
The more he listened, the more he began to understand.
The voiceâyour voiceâwasnât just talking about him. It spoke of things it shouldnât know. Thoughts he had never uttered aloud. Events that had yet to unfold.
And the most unsettling part? It was right.
The first time he heard you say something about his future, he dismissed it. A coincidence. A meaningless murmur in the depths of his mind.
Then it happened again.
"This is where he starts to realize somethingâs wrong."
He started noticing the cracks.
A shadow cast by nothing. A brief flicker in the air, like a painting losing its color for a fraction of a second.
And then, one day, he saw you.
Not clearly. Not fully. But just enough.
A glitched reflection in a darkened window. A hand resting where there was no surface. The faintest outline of eyes, always watching.
"Found you."
You had been watching him all this time.
Now, it was his turn.
Soshiro was nothing if not methodical. Once he confirmed your existence, he did what he always didâhe studied.
Patterns. Recurrences. The times he could hear you most clearly.
Every story had rules.
And every rule had a loophole.
He began speaking back.
"Can you hear me?"
Nothing.
The second time, he made sure you would hear him.
"I know you're there."
It was subtle at first. The way the air around him seemed to pulse, as if something on the other side had reacted. Had flinched.
The more he pushed, the more he could see, hear, feel. He caught glimpsesâdistorted reflections, the glow of a screen where there should have been darkness.
You were real. And you were so close.
He just needed to reach you.
And he would.
The mission was simple. Eliminate the threat.
But the moment the kaiju appeared, something was different.
The air was wrong. The sky pulsed with colors that had no name, bleeding together like ink soaking through paper. Space itself seemed to bend, and in the center of it all, the beast let out a roar that made the world shudder. The kaijuâs claws tore through the air, but instead of leaving destruction in its wake, it left something else.
A hole.
It wasnât fire. It wasnât smoke. It was nothingness, gaping and endless, edges flickering like static on a broken screen. It crackled, twisted, spread out like a wound in reality.
He heard you.
Louder than ever.
"Oh my godâwhat is that?!"
If he goes near it, will something happen?
The voices hit him all at once, not whispers this time but clear, distinct. As if you were right there.
He turned sharply, his attention no longer on the kaiju, no longer on the battle. His eyes locked onto the tear in space, and for the first time in his life, he felt something close to hope.
This was it.
The cracks in his world had always been smallâfleeting glimpses, fractured reflections, an endless chase with no way to reach you.
But now?
This was a tear. A wound wide enough to slip through.
Wide enough to pull you in.
Soshiro took a step forward. Then another. His pulse roared in his ears. He ignored the shouts of his team, the kaijuâs guttural growl, the chaos unfolding around him. His world was breaking. And this time, he was going to break through. The portal flickered violently, unstable, unpredictableâbut he had always been good at forcing things to go his way.
"Come here."
The moment his fingers brushed the edges of the portal, reality fractured. A sensation unlike anything he had ever felt ripped through his bodyâa pull, deep and consuming, as if something was unraveling him from the inside out. For a brief, terrifying second, his vision twisted and he saw something beyond comprehension.
He saw you.
Your eyes wide with shock. Your breath caught in your throat. The glow of a screen illuminating your face in the darkness of your room.
The static howled around him, but he was faster. His hand shot out, fingers closing around your wrist. Your gasp barely reached his ears before the world lurched.
A force yanked you from your world, dragging you through the spiraling abyss between fiction and reality. You had no time to scream. Everything blurred into a cacophony of white noise, a crushing weight that swallowed you whole.
You didnât know how long you had been unconscious.
There was no sense of time, only a deep, disorienting emptiness. Your body felt heavy, weighed down by something invisible, as if reality itself was pressing against you.
"Are they alive?"
"Shitâwhere did they even come from?"
"They mustâve been caught in the kaiju attack. Civilians werenât supposed to be near this zone..."
"Damn lucky they're breathing at all. Get them back to base."
Someone knelt beside you. A hand brushed against your cheek.
"They're fine. Just need some rest."
Even in your hazy state, your body knew that voice.
Soshiro Hoshina.
Memories flashed in jagged fragmentsâhis hand gripping your wrist, the sensation of falling, being pulled through something.
As you slowly forced your eyes open, blinking against the bright lights above, the truth crashed down on you with suffocating weight.
The world around you wasnât yours.
You were lying on cold concrete, surrounded by figures clad in gears, their expressions wary yet confused. Towering buildings loomed in the distance, sleek and industrial, lined with neon-lit signs in a language that wasnât your own.
This was the world you had watched.
The world that shouldnât have been real.
And standing over you was him.
Soshiroâs lips curled into something that wasnât quite a smile.
"Looks like we found a survivor."
The others exchanged uncertain glances.
"They're not in the registry. No records of their ID or whereabouts."
"Weâll have to run a background checkâ"
"That wonât be necessary." Soshiroâs voice was calm, steady.
He crouched beside you, close enough that only you could hear his next words.
"I already know who you are."
Your body still wasnât listening to you.
It couldnât be real. And yet, the cold concrete beneath you, the weight of unseen eyes on your trembling formâeverything screamed otherwise.
"But... there were no reports of missing persons in that sector."
"Then it mustâve been an error in the reports." His tone was level, absolute. The kind that brokered no argument.
A few hesitant murmurs. Then, grudging acceptance. No one questioned him.
Why would they?
He had planned for this. Anticipated it. And now, he was using it.
You forced yourself to sit up.
"Iâ" Your voice cracked, weak from whatever had happened to you. "I need toâ"
"You need rest."
Soshiroâs fingers curled around your wrist just slightlyâjust enough to let you know you werenât going anywhere.
"Iâll take responsibility for them" he announced. "Theyâre under my watch until we can confirm their situation."
Another silence.
Then, reluctant agreement.
"Come on" he murmured. "Letâs get you home."
-----
The moment you arrived at base, Soshiro barely gave the others a chance to intervene.
"Theyâll stay with me."
"Are you sure? They might needâ"
"Iâll take care of it."
And just like that, you were his to handle.
"Youâre not going to say anything?" His voice was calm.
You swallowed hard, your throat painfully dry. "What am I supposed to say?"
"Youâve been watching me for a long time, havenât you?"
"I told you, didnât I?" His voice dropped. "I know who you are."
Panic clawed at your chest. "Hoshinaâ"
"Soshiro."
Before you could move, he was already there, closing the distance between you.
"Iâm the only one who knows the truth. The only one who can know." His voice softened, but the intensity never wavered. "Do you understand what that means?"
"It means you belong to me now."
"You canât justâ"
"You donât exist here. No records. No past. No one would ever question it if I kept you for myself."
Despite the overwhelming wrongness of your situation, despite the way Soshiro's eyes devoured every flicker of emotion on your face, you still had an advantage.
You knew something he didnât. What happens next.
Your lips parted before you could stop yourself. "Soshiro, you need to listen to me."
"Oh?" He tilted his head, eyes sharp with intrigue. "Giving me orders already? Thatâs bold, considering your situation."
"I know whatâs coming. The kaiju attackâthis wasnât just random. The next breachâ"
He raised a brow, interest piqued. "Next breach?"
"In two days." The words tumbled out before you could stop them. "The defenses wonât holdâ"
You stopped yourself.
What am I doing?
Soshiro was silent. Thenâhe smiled.
"Thatâs interesting." His voice pleased. "Really interesting."
"Tell me...how exactly do you know that?"
You hesitated. "IâI overheard something."
A lie. A weak one.
"Is that so?"
You nodded quickly, hoping to press your advantage. "It doesnât matter how I know. What matters is that itâs real. You need to prepare."
He hummed thoughtfully, his fingers tracing lightly over the sleeve of your borrowed uniform.
"Youâre full of surprises" he murmured, voice almost affectionate.
You forced yourself to meet his gaze. "You believe me, donât you?"
"I suppose I donât have much of a choice."
Your shoulders sagged slightly, relief washing through you.
After that conversation, everything changed.
The medical team checked you over, confirming what everyone already assumedâyou were exhausted but fine. No external injuries.
But you werenât allowed to leave.
"For your safety" they said.
You werenât even sure whose orders it was under.
The next morning, you were moved to different quartersâno longer the medical wing, but somewhere more secure.
And the first thing you noticed?
Your new room was close to his.
You had tried not to overthink it. Had tried to convince yourself that it made sense for them to keep an eye on you. You were an unknown factor. Of course they wouldnât want you roaming freely.
---
You were getting a grip on things now.
Ever since you arrived in this world, everything had been overwhelmingâSoshiroâs obsession, the suffocating control, the knowledge that you werenât supposed to be here.
But now, you were thinking. You werenât going to be trapped forever. One way or another, youâd find a way back. For now, though⌠staying here wasnât so bad.
You were surrounded by your favorite characters. The ones you had only ever seen through a screen or read about in the manga. It was surreal, almost like a dream.
A dangerous dream, but stillâŚ
You couldnât deny the excitement that lurked beneath the fear.
For now, all you needed to do was survive.
You followed the routine they set for you. Ate when they told you to eat. Rested when they told you to rest. Answered when they asked questions. But you never gave too much away.
And when they finally let you roam, just a little, just under supervisionâyou took the opportunity without hesitation. Which was how you found yourself outside, breathing in the cool night air, your thoughts clearer than they had been in days.
"You shouldnât be wandering alone."
Slowly, you turned.
Soshiro stood just a few steps away, his figure bathed in the dim glow of the hallway lights. His uniform was slightly unfastenedâlike he had just come from unwinding after a long day.
"I just needed some air."
"I see. Though it is interesting that out of all the places you could have gone, you ended up here."
You stiffened. "I didnât mean toâ"
"Didnât you?" His smirk was lazy, teasingâbut his eyes told a different story. "If you wanted to see me, you could have just said so."
"I wasnât...."
"Relax, Iâm joking."
You werenât so sure.
-----
"Come in."
"What?"
Soshiro gestured toward his door, expression unreadable. "You once said you wanted to clear your head, didnât you? What better way to do that than a conversation?"
You hesitated.
Still, you forced yourself to act normal. To nod as if this was just a casual talk.
"Alright."
Soshiro stepped aside, allowing you to enter first.
And the moment the door clicked shut behind youâ
You realized you had just stepped into the lionâs den.
Soshiroâs room was surprisingly⌠neat.
You werenât sure what you expected, but the space was organized. Weapons displayed on one side. Tactical reports neatly stacked on his desk. A few personal effects tucked awayânothing sentimental, but small details that made it feel lived in.
"Sit."
You glanced at him before lowering yourself onto the chair he motioned toward. Soshiro didnât sit right away. Instead, he leaned against the desk, arms crossed, studying you.
"Now that weâre alone" he mused, "why donât you introduce yourself properly?"
You blinked. "Properly?"
He raised a brow. "The others know you as the mysterious civilian who appeared out of nowhere." He tilted his head. "But I know better, donât I?"
Your hands clenched slightly against your lap.
He was testing you.
Seeing how much you were willing to admit.
Fine. If playing along kept you safe, then so be it.
"My name is Y/N" you said truthfully.
No point in lying about that.
"I⌠I canât explain everything. Not yet. But I do know things. Things about this world. About you."
"I knew about the kaiju attack before it happened. And I know more."
Still, he said nothing.
So you pressed on.
"Thatâs why I spoke up before. I didnât want you to walk into a disaster blindly."
"So youâre looking out for me?"
"I guess you could say that."
"Thatâs sweet."
His voice was warm. You barely had time to react before he leaned down, just close enough.
"But you know," he murmured, "I donât mind disasters."
"Because no matter what happensâŚI always get what I want."
You had hoped to see the rest of the team eventually.
If you were stuck here, you might as well take advantage of it, right?
You wanted to meet them. Kafka Hibino, especially.
But Soshiro made sure that wouldnât happen.
"Youâre still under observation" he had said smoothly when you mentioned it. "No need to trouble yourself with unnecessary interactions."
"Unnecessary?" You frowned. "Butâ"
"You're safer like this" he cut in, his usual smirk in place, but his tone was final.
And just like that, the conversation was over.
Your shoulders tensed as you sat back against the chair in his room, frustration bubbling in your chest. You were stuck. He wasnât going to let you roam freely, wasnât going to let you get close to anyone but him.
Your stomach growled, snapping you out of your thoughts.
Loudly.
Your face burned.
Soshiro raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.
"Hungry?"
"Yeah, I should probablyâ" You moved to stand, ready to finally leave this damn roomâ
But he stopped you with a single look.
"Stay."
"I can justâ"
"Iâll bring something in for you."
"I can get my own food, you know."
Soshiro simply smiled, but there was something behind itâsomething firm. "I know."
That was all he said before stepping out, leaving you alone in his room.
No matter how much freedom you thought you had, it was always on his terms.
-----
After your medical checkup the next morning, you were finally allowed to walk back on your own. It wasnât much, but it was better than nothing.
Thatâs when you heard it.
The rhythmic sounds of combat.
The sharp whoosh of a blade cutting through the air.
You glanced to the side and noticed the training room door was slightly open. Curiosity got the better of you.
Slowly, you peeked inside.
Soshiro was in the center of the room, moving with deadly precision. His blade sliced through the air effortlessly, his stance fluid, every strike calculated and precise.
Holy shit.
You had read about his skills. Had watched them play out before.
But seeing it in real life? It was mesmerizing.
The way his muscles tensed with each movement, the sharp glint of his blade as he executed each strike flawlesslyâhe made it look so easy.
You barely realized you had been staring until he finished his set, his blade lowering as he exhaled slowly.
Thenâ
His eyes locked onto you.
For a moment, neither of you moved.
Thenâhis smirk returned.
"Enjoying the view?"
Your face heated instantly. "I wasnâtâ!"
"You were."
Before you could think of an excuse, Soshiro tilted his head toward the room.
"Come in. If youâre going to stand there gawking, you might as well do it properly."
You shouldnât. You knew you shouldnât. But the way he was looking at youâlike he was daring you to step closerâmade it impossible to resist.
Soshiro hadnât moved an inch since calling you in, but his entire presence shifted.
Again, he was studying you. You forced yourself to stand still, pretending not to notice the way his gaze lingered.
"Are you going to say something useful, or just keep staring?"
His eyebrows raised slightly, surprised by your sudden pushback.
"Hah. Brave."
Soshiro leaned back, running a hand through his hair, the amusement in his expression only growing.
"Alright, alright. Iâll stop⌠for now."
You relaxed slightly.
But just as quickly, he tilted his head.
"You flinch too easily, you know."
You gritted your teeth, refusing to take the bait.
"Though," he added lazily, "I donât mind. Itâs kind of cute."
Your face burned instantly.
Before you could snap back, the door suddenly creaked open behind you. You turned just in time to see someone step insideâ
And your breath caught.
"Ohâsorry, I didnât know anyone was in here."
Reno Ichikawa stood at the entrance, glancing between you and Soshiro.
"Forgot something?" Soshiro asked casually, his smirk easing into something more relaxed.
Reno nodded, stepping inside.
You barely processed their conversation.
Because holy shit.
It was Reno Ichikawa.
Standing right in front of you.
Looking just as cool as you had imagined.
Seeing Soshiro in action had been one thing, but Reno was on another level of admiration. You couldnât stop yourself from staring.
"Youâre staring again."
Soshiroâs voice was barely above a whisper, meant for you alone.
You suddenly regretted stepping into this room.
Reno, completely unaware of the tension. "Iâll be heading back now. See you around."
You barely managed to nod in return.
Thenâhe was gone.
And the room fell into silence again.
"I see."
"See what?"
"You have good taste."
You werenât sure if that was a compliment or a warning.
Maybe both.
The tension in the air hadnât faded, even after Reno left.
If anything, it felt heavier.
But you didnât care about that right now.
There was something more important to ask.
You inhaled sharply, forcing yourself to hold his gaze. "Soshiro."
His smirk widened just slightly. "Hmm?"
"How did you find me?"
"Find you?" he echoed, tilting his head, pretending to think.
You clenched your fists. "I shouldnât be here." Your voice was steadier this time, firmer. "You know that, donât you?"
Soshiro exhaled slowly, the corner of his lips twitchingânot in irritation, but in amusement. Like he was watching a small animal puffing up to look threatening.
"Youâre here now, though" he said smoothly.
"Thatâs not an answer."
"Itâs the only one that matters."
"Soshiro, I need to go back."
"Go back?" he repeated.
"I donât belong here. You know I donât. Iâ" You hesitated, forcing yourself to continue. "I donât even know how I got here. But I do know that this isnât where Iâm supposed to be."
"You're right."
"Youâre not supposed to be here." His voice was calm, matter-of-fact. "You came from somewhere else. Somewhere you shouldnât have been able to cross from."
He knew.
"I heard you long before I saw you" he continued, voice quieter now. "And when I finally did see youâwhen that portal openedâI knew I couldnât let you slip away."
"So youâ"
"I pulled you through."
A simple confession.
Spoken so casually, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Like it hadnât completely ripped you from your world and trapped you in his.
"Then you can send me back, right?"
Soshiroâs gaze darkened.
That had been the wrong thing to say. And you just realized that.
Your heart was pounding.
Soshiro had you trapped.
One moment, you were standing your ground, demanding answers. The next, he had moved too quickly, too smoothlyâpressing forward until your back hit the wall.
Now, he was leaning over you. One hand braced beside your head, the other resting casually against his hip. His gaze flickered with amusement, but beneath that, there was something else.
"You look nervous" he mused.
"Iâ"
"You donât have to be."
He leaned in. He noticed your fingers curled into fists at your sides. "Soshiro, move."
"Hmm." He tilted his head, considering. "And if I donât?"
The door suddenly swung open.
"Vice-Captain, the Captain requiresâ"
The voice stopped abruptly.
You turned your head just in time to see one of the officers standing in the doorway, eyes widening at the scene before them.
Their gaze flickered between you and Soshiro, clearly piecing together what it looked like.
A knowing smirk crept onto their lips.
"Oh. Sorry to interrupt you, Vice-Captain."
And with that, they slammed the door shut again.
Your face burned. "Waitâ!"
But they were already gone.
The silence that followed was suffocating.
For the first time, Soshiro looked slightly surprised. Then, he laughed.
"Well, that was unexpected."
You wanted to die.
You shoved against his chestâfinally, finally making him back off. "Get off!"
Soshiro chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Relax, relax. Iâm letting you go, arenât I?"
Your glare could have burned a hole through him.
----
You were exhausted.
The day had been too much. The conversation, the way he cornered you, the way people looked at you after the incident in the training roomâ
You just needed sleep.
You pulled the covers over yourself, staring at the ceiling for a moment before finally allowing yourself to drift off.
And you never noticed the door to your room creak open.
Never noticed the soft footsteps approaching your bed.
Never noticed the figure standing over you, watching.
Soshiro stood there in the dim light, hands in his pockets, gaze unreadable.
His usual smirk was absent.
Instead, he was quiet.
Watching the slow rise and fall of your chest.
Watching the way your fingers twitched slightly as you dreamed.
So fragile.
So untouchableâand yet, his.
His fingers twitched slightly, as if debating something.
Then, slowly, he reached downâ
But stopped just before his fingers could brush against your skin.
"Not yet" he murmured under his breath.
And with that, he turned away.
The door clicked shut behind him.
----
The next morning, Soshiro was preparing for his mission when you found him.
You hesitated for a moment, watching as he adjusted his gloves, his expression sharp and focused. He looked cool, as always, but there was something else todayâsomething heavier in the air.
He must have sensed your presence because he turned to you, raising a brow.
"What? Come to see me off?"
You exhaled, shifting on your feet. "Something like that."
His smirk was lazy, but his eyes studied you carefully. "Gonna miss me?"
You rolled your eyes. "I justâŚ" You hesitated, then sighed. "I canât say anything much, but⌠I hope your journey in the future is just like what you hope."
Soshiroâs smirk faltered.
You looked away. "I donât want you to suffer. You have great people around you. I just⌠want things to go well for you."
You werenât sure what you expectedâanother teasing remark, maybe. But when you glanced at him again, his gaze was unreadable.
"Hah."
A soft chuckle, quieter than usual.
He looked at you for a long moment before finally speaking.
"Thatâs a dangerous thing to say, yâknow."
You frowned. "Why?"
"Because now Iâm going to make sure you stay by my side long enough to see if your hope for me comes true."
"Soshiroâ"
"Gotta go." He stepped past you, voice light again. "Be good while Iâm gone, yeah?"
And just like that, he was gone.
Leaving you with a sinking feeling in your chest.
-----
You had spent the day at the base, finally starting to get used to things. Despite the strangeness of your situation, there were people here who were easy to talk toâpeople who werenât constantly testing your every reaction.
So when you found yourself chatting with a small group of Defense Force members, you let yourself relax for once.
Laughing. Talking. Feeling normal.
A shiver ran down your spine, and you felt it before you even turned around.
The weight of his gaze.
You slowly glanced over your shoulder.
Soshiro had just returned from his mission, still in uniform, still looking as composed as everâexcept for one thing.
His eyes locked directly on you.
His usual smirk was nowhere to be seen.
But you didnât have time to process itâbecause in the next moment, Soshiro was moving toward you.
The conversation around you faded as his presence swallowed the space.
"Having fun?" His voice was casual, but there was something off about it.
"Soshiroâ"
"You seem pretty comfortable" he murmured, glancing at the others around you.
"Should I be jealous?"
The people around you exchanged glances, sensing the sudden tension in the air.
Soshiro didnât move closer, didnât touch youâ
But he didnât have to.
Because the weight of his presence was enough to make your skin prickle.
You were his. And now, everyone else knew it too.
The whispers started the moment Soshiro left with you.
You didnât have to hear them to know what they were saying.
They all thought you and Soshiro were together.
And the worst part?
You didnât correct them.
Because deep downâ
You liked it here.
At first, you had been desperate to go back, convinced that you didnât belong in this world. But time passed. You got used to the base, the people, the feeling of being surrounded by characters you had once only known through a screen.
You had wanted to meet them, hadnât you?
And now, you were here.
It was dangerous, sure. But so was real life. And here, you werenât just watching anymore. You were living.
So when people assumed things about you and Soshiro
When they smirked and whispered and looked at you with knowing eyesâ
You let it happen.
Until eventually, there was no need to go back.
But right nowâ
Right now, you had bigger problems.
Like the fact that Soshiro was mad.
And you were definitely about to see him.
You didnât have to go far. He was already waiting for you. The door to his room was slightly open when you passed by, and before you could reactâ
A hand shot out, grabbing your wrist and pulling you inside.
The door clicked shut behind you.
Your heart jumped. "Soshiroâ!"
"Youâre getting too comfortable here, yâknow" he murmured.
"What are you talking about?"
"You stopped trying to leave."
"You havenât even mentioned going back."
"Wellâ"
"And now everyone thinks weâre together."
He tilted his head, studying your reaction.
Waiting for you to deny it.
But you didnât.
Soshiro exhaled sharply, his grip loosening.
"I knew it."
"Knew what?"
"That youâd give in eventually. You belong here after all."
You looked away, heat creeping up your neck. "Shut up."
The room was quiet after you told him to shut up.
But unlike before, Soshiro didnât tease you for it.
He just⌠looked at you.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You really arenât trying to leave anymore, huh?"
You hesitated. "âŚNo."
You expected him to gloat. To smirk and make some smug remark about how heâd won.
But insteadâ
"I shouldâve let you go."
"What the heck?"
He didnât look at you. His gaze was fixed on the floor, his expression unreadable.
"From the start," he murmured. "I shouldâve let you go when I first realized you were here. Shouldâve helped you find a way back."
A bitter chuckle left his lips.
"But I didnât."
You stared at him, completely thrown off.
"I was selfish."
He finally looked up, and for the first time, you saw it.
The guilt.
"You were never supposed to be here," he admitted. "And I knew that. But I didnât care. Because the moment I realized I wasnât just imagining youâthe moment I heard youâI couldnât ignore it."
Your chest tightened. "SoshiroâŚ"
"I told myself I was protecting you. That this world is dangerous and youâd need someone to keep you safe."
His voice dropped lower.
"But really? I just didnât want to lose you."
You didnât know what to say.
Because he was right.
He had been selfish. He had kept you here when he shouldnât have.
But at the same timeâ
You had stayed. By your own choice.
"I should be asking if you resent me for that" he said quietly. "But I think I already know the answer."
"I donât."
"Even though I trapped you here?"
"You didnât trap me." You exhaled slowly, choosing your words carefully. "You gave me a choice. And maybe I didnât realize it at first, but⌠I made my decision. I want to stay."
For a long moment, Soshiro didnât speak.
He huffed out a small, almost breathless chuckle.
"Youâre really something else."
Finally, he let his usual smirk return, though it was softer now.
"Guess that means I donât have to feel too bad about it, huh?"
You gave him a look. "I didnât say that."
His smirk widened just a little.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it."
For the first time in a while, Soshiro felt like he could breathe again.
If you were happy here
If you chose to stay
Then maybe⌠Maybe it wasnât such a terrible thing after all.

"You're not going to believe what happened today," Soshiro said, his cheeks flushed as he slammed the door to his apartment.
"What's got you all riled up?" You replied, setting aside your book and looking up from the couch.
"It's justâŚ" He paused, a rare look of embarrassment crossing his features. "I overheard some guys from the Third Division talking about⌠things."
You raised an eyebrow. "Things? What kind of things?"
He shuffled his feet, glancing around the room before meeting your gaze. "You know, the⌠intimate kind of things."
You leaned back, a smirk playing on your lips. "Ah, I see. And what exactly are we talking about?"
"They were saying that to be a real man, you have to know how toâŚ" He took a deep breath. "Eat pussy."
Your smirk grew into a full-blown grin. "Well, I suppose that's one way of putting it."
"But, I don't know how!" The words tumbled out of him, his eyes wide and earnest. "I've never done it before. And they said it's, you know, important."
You couldn't help but laugh. "You're telling me you've never gone down on a girl, Soshiro?"
"Never had the chance," he mumbled, looking away.
You studied him for a moment, his vulnerability surprisingly endearing. "Okay, I'll help you."
"You will?" His eyes lit up, hope shimmering in them.
"But, only if you promise to take this seriously," you warned, standing up. "We're not playing games here."
He nodded eagerly. "I promise, I do."
The room grew quiet as you approached him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Alright, let's start with the basics."
Soshiro's curiosity had led him to you, his friend with benefits, for a lesson that would take him far beyond the battlefield and into the most intimate of terrains. His heart raced with anticipation, a stark contrast to the calm confidence he exuded when facing a Kaiju. But here, in the sanctity of his own home, he was a novice, eager to learn.
The evening sun cast a warm glow through the windows, setting the scene for a lesson that would not only deepen their friendship but also challenge Soshiro's understanding of pleasure and connection. You could see the excitement and nerves in his eyes, and you felt a thrill at the prospect of guiding him through this new experience.
You began with a gentle explanation of the female anatomy, using words that were both accurate and respectful. Soshiro listened attentively, nodding along as you described the various parts and sensations. His questions were innocent and sincere, and you found yourself warming to his genuine desire to understand.
As the conversation grew more intimate, so did the atmosphere. You could feel the tension building, not just between you and him, but also within the very air that surrounded you. It was a delicate dance of information and emotion, each word and gesture leading closer to the moment when theory would become practice.
Finally, you decided it was time. "Ready?" You asked, your voice low and steady.
He swallowed hard, nodding. "I think so."
With a knowing smile, you took his hand and led him to the bedroom, where the real lesson would begin.
"First, remember that every woman is different," you said, pushing the door closed behind you. "What one person enjoys, another might not."
He nodded, his grip tightening slightly around yours. "I understand."
You sat him down on the edge of the bed, your eyes never leaving his. "Communication is key. Always ask for permission before you start, and pay attention to her reactions. If she seems uncomfortable or tells you to stop, then stop immediately."
He nodded again, his expression earnest. "Okay."
You began to undress, your movements slow and deliberate. His gaze followed you, his eyes widening as you revealed more and more of your body to him. You could see the hunger in his eyes, the raw desire that matched the excitement bubbling in your own chest.
"Now, watch closely," you instructed, lying back and spreading your legs. "This is where it starts."
He leaned in, his face a picture of concentration as you pointed out the different parts of your anatomy, explaining what felt good and what didn't. You could feel yourself growing wetter as you talked, his breath warm against your skin.
As he watched, you began to touch yourself, demonstrating the gentle strokes and pressure that brought you pleasure. His eyes darkened, and his breath grew ragged, but he remained focused, his gaze never straying from the task at hand.
When you were ready, you looked up at him. "Now, it's your turn."
He took a deep breath, his hands shaking slightly as he positioned himself between your legs. His first touch was tentative, but you guided him, showing him the rhythm and speed that brought you to the brink.
You watched as he grew more confident, his strokes becoming surer and more deliberate. You moaned softly, your hips rising to meet his mouth as the pleasure began to build. His eyes remained on yours, searching for approval, and you gave it in the form of a soft smile and a nod.
This was more than just a lesson in intimacy; it was a moment of trust and vulnerability. As you felt the first waves of your climax approaching, you realized that in teaching him, you had also learned something new about yourself and the depth of the connection you shared.
His tongue flicked and danced, exploring and learning from your reactions. Each gasp and shiver of pleasure was a lesson for him, and you felt your walls crumbling as the tension in the room reached a crescendo.
The moment came, and you fell over the edge, your body convulsing as the orgasm washed over you. His eyes never left yours, a look of triumph and wonder in his gaze.
Afterwards, you laid there, your chests heaving in unison, the scent of sex heavy in the air. He looked up at you, his eyes full of awe and gratitude.
"Thank you," he murmured. "I've never felt closer to anyone."
You smiled, stroking his hair. "Neither have I."
The bond between you had grown stronger, and as you cuddled together, the weight of the world outside their private sanctuary seemed to melt away. For now, it was just the two of you, united in a newfound understanding of one another's desires and needs.
The rest of the evening passed in a blur of exploration and passion, as Soshiro put his newfound skills to the test. Each time you reached the pinnacle of pleasure, you could feel the bond between you tightening, your bodies speaking a language that transcended words.
And as the night grew late, and the shadows danced across the walls, you knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in your friendship, one filled with the sweetest of secrets and the most intimate of connections.

Here's an idea, Soshiro wanting to make his gf squirt and taking it as a challenge to do so, not given up till he does it!
jesus why am i reading this just now - nsfw below the cut
anyway, u know that specific type of men who will go into an endless litany about how you won't need sex toys in the bedroom once you start dating them?
i used to think hoshina would fall under this category but im changing my mind. i simply don'y think hoshina's masculinity is so fragile he would say no to the idea of using accessories in the bedroom. not saying he is a bad lover too - far from it, honestly - but i believe that hoshina is not averse to the idea of taking all the help he can get to give you the most amount of pleasure possible.
so, imagine not having any experience at all in squirting - which is totally okay, hoshina would tell you - but who's to say that you actually are not capable of it? hoshina soshiro would even quote justin bieber and tell you to never say never.
it would take a while and a lot of effort from the both of you to make it happen. i can imagine hoshina suggesting sex positions that would challenge your flexibility (yeah maybe you should have really taken those pilates classes) but to no avail.
you know what would work though? good ol' edging. not to be cruel or anything like that because really he was even encouraging throughout the entire act, but hey, after all you are dating the vice-captain of an essentially a military division so i think being pushed to your limits once or twice would be an expected event.
because imagine begging for hoshina to just let you cum already - that you can't take any more teasing - and him saying, "yeah sure i'll let you on one condition."
in the end, your research turned out right - though some people can actually tell their bodies to squirt, you are the opposite. let's just say hoshina gives such out of this world orgasms that it pushed you to do something you didn't think you were even capable of doing, ok?

Can I please request a reader with Hoshina from Kaiju No.8 and the reader gets injured when on a mission? And Hoshina freaks out and gets scared and confesses?
Thank you for writing, I hope you have a great day! <3
The Blade That Protects You
English is not my first language, so if you find mistakes, feel free to contact me!
Synopsis: Hoshina never lets himself think about loveâit was always duty first. But when he sees you injured in battle, he realizes that, for the first time, someone is more important than his mission. Â
Warnings/content: Hoshina Soshiro x fem!reader, 3.707 words
Hoshina Soshiro was a man defined by his duty. The Vice-Commander of the Defense Force, he was a towering figure, known for his sharp instincts and even sharper blade. His calm demeanor and precise movements in battle had earned him the respect of his comrades, and his unwavering commitment to protecting humanity was beyond question. He was no stranger to loss, and he'd learned long ago that emotions had no place on the battlefield.
And yet, no matter how much he told himself it was all just part of the job, there was one person who seemed to find a way into the cracks of his armor.
You.
From the first time you'd been assigned to his team, there was something about your presence that unsettled him. You were strong, capable, and had a way of understanding him without wordsâsomething he'd never known he needed. But it also made things harder. When you smiled at him after a successful mission, or when your eyes met his across a crowded room, he couldn't ignore the strange tug in his chest. But Hoshina was determined to keep his focus, even if it meant keeping his distance.
Love had no place in the world they lived in. The Kaijus attacked without warning, destroying cities and taking lives. There was no room for feelings in a war that demanded everything, not even for someone as important to him as you.
But he couldn't deny it anymore.
As you trained side by side, fought together in every battle, the quiet affection he felt for you grew stronger. And every time he saw you walk away unscathed, part of him relaxedâjust a little. He wouldn't admit it to himself, but the thought of losing you... it terrified him. He couldn't protect everyone, but youâhe couldn't lose you.
Still, he kept his distance, unwilling to allow any weakness to compromise his focus. Until that day.
The mission was clear: a Kaiju had been sighted near a small village, and the Defense Force needed to neutralize it before it could cause any further destruction. As always, Hoshina was calm, calculated, and focused, his mind running through the plans for the attack. His team was ready, including you, his most trusted and capable comrade. You'd been by his side through countless missions, and today was no different. The two of you worked in perfect sync, your movements sharp, your timing flawless.
The streets of the village were eerily quiet as the two of you led the charge. Hoshina's blades gleamed in the daylight, and you were right beside him, every step in sync as you closed in on the Kaiju's location. The air was thick with anticipation.
As they approached the Kaiju's known position, the sense of calm that usually filled Hoshina's chest began to flicker. There was something⌠off about this mission. It wasn't just the nagging sense of danger that came with every battleâit was something else, something he couldn't quite place. Still, he didn't let it show. He couldn't afford to.
The ground suddenly shuddered, followed by the deafening roar of the Kaiju as it erupted from behind a building. It was bigger than expectedâa towering, monstrous creature that crushed the earth beneath its weight. The villagers screamed and scattered, but Hoshina and his team immediately jumped into action.
The fight was intense. The Kaiju was fast, its massive limbs swinging with terrifying force. But Hoshina's training had prepared him for this. He fought with precision, cutting down the beast's appendages with practiced ease. Yet, in the chaos, something went wrong.
A second Kaiju appearedâthis one much smaller, but just as deadly. It ambushed the group from the opposite direction, catching everyone off guard.
Hoshina's heart skipped a beat as he heard a shoutâa familiar voice.
You.
He whipped his head around, eyes wide with realization as he saw you standing in front of a group of civilians, your back turned to the second Kaiju. You were trying to shield them, but you hadn't noticed the threat behind you until it was too late. The Kaiju lunged, its massive claws outstretched, ready to strike.
"No!" Hoshina shouted, but it was too late. In one swift motion, you threw yourself between the Kaiju and the civilians, taking the hit.
His heart stopped.
Time seemed to slow as he watched you stagger back, blood spilling from your side. His breath caught in his throat, a cold panic gripping him. You fell to your knees, your vision blurred from the pain, but your hands still gripped your weapon, desperate to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.
And just like that, everything elseâthe Kaiju, the battle, the missionâfaded away. Hoshina didn't think. His instincts took over, and he was charging forward, faster than he'd ever moved before, his blade cutting through anything in his path.
The world blurred as he reached you. In the blink of an eye, the second Kaiju fell to the ground in a heap, its body torn apart by Hoshina's precise strikes. But none of that mattered anymore. His focus was solely on you.
He reached your side, breathless, and dropped to his knees beside you. His hands pressed against the wound in your side, trying desperately to stop the blood from spilling out.
"Stay with me," he said, his voice more frantic than he ever let on. "Don't you dare close your eyes. Not now. Not like this."
Your breathing was shallow, each inhale ragged as you forced a weak smile, trying to reassure him, but the blood loss was too much. You reached for his hand, your fingers trembling.
"I'm fine⌠I'll be okay," you whispered, but he could see the pain in your eyes. Your words were a lie, and you both knew it.
Hoshina's heart thudded painfully in his chest as he tightened his grip on your hand. He wanted to shout, to scream at you for being so reckless, but instead, his voice broke with something more raw, more desperate.
"Why did youâ?!" he started, his tone harsh, but the words failed him. All that came out was a ragged breath. He didn't know what to say, how to express the panic and the fear clawing at his chest.
You tried to laugh, but it turned into a cough, blood staining your lips. "I couldn't just let them dieâŚ" you trailed off, but your voice was soft, distant.
His eyes were wide as he desperately looked around, knowing that the medics couldn't get here fast enough. This wasn't how it was supposed to end. He wasn't supposed to feel like thisâso completely helpless. The world around him suddenly felt like a blur, the battle raging on as if it didn't matter.
Everything in him screamed to protect you, to keep you safe, but he had failed. He had failed to protect you.
He didn't know when it had happened. He didn't know when he had started caring about you this muchâbut now, as he held you in his arms, his mind raced with one undeniable truth:
He couldn't lose you.
The world around Hoshina felt like it was collapsing. His focus had narrowed down to just one thing: you. Nothing else matteredânot the Kaiju, not the blood-soaked battlefield, not the frantic orders being barked over his communicator. It was just you, lying in his arms, barely clinging to consciousness as your breathing grew shallower by the second.
"Stay with me," he repeated, his voice low, almost desperate. His hand pressed harder against your side, trying in vain to slow the bleeding, but it was no use. The blood kept flowing. You could feel it tooâyour body growing weaker with every heartbeat.
Your hand trembled in his, and you gave him a faint, almost apologetic smile. "I'll be okay⌠It's not that badâŚ"
But you both knew that wasn't true. His eyes searched your face, looking for any sign that you were truly alright, but all he saw was the faint trace of pain in your expression and the weariness creeping in around your eyes.
"No," Hoshina said hoarsely, his voice rough with emotion. His throat constricted as he fought back the panic. "This isn't... You're not okay. You're not supposed to be like this. Not... not like this." His voice cracked at the end, a stark break in the calm façade he worked so hard to maintain.
You tried to sit up, but Hoshina's hand on your chest stopped you, firm but gentle. "Don't. You need to stay still." His tone was more commanding than ever, but his eyes, normally steely and stoic, were full of vulnerability. It was a side of him you rarely saw, and it made your chest tighten.
"You're scaring me," he added, voice barely above a whisper. His eyes were wide with something unrecognizableâfear. Pure, unfiltered fear. "Iâ" He paused, as if the words were caught in his throat, struggling to break free. "I can't lose you."
You blinked at him, unsure if you'd heard him correctly. His usual confident, slightly teasing demeanor had completely fallen away, leaving only raw emotion in its place. He looked down at you with eyes that were no longer the calculated, controlled gaze of a warrior, but the gaze of a man who had lost himself in a moment of sheer terror.
You opened your mouth to speak, but nothing came out. It was as if his admission had taken all the words away from you.
But it was all so clear now. That strange, tight knot in your chest whenever he was nearâthe way your heart raced a little faster than it should when his eyes lingered just a little too long. You'd seen the way he kept his distance, the way he hid his feelings behind a wall of duty. You'd always assumed it was just the way he was, just part of the persona he'd built. But now, you could see the truth in his eyes.
You tried to lift a hand, weakly cupping his face, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath your fingertips. "HoshinaâŚ" you whispered, your voice raspy. "You're⌠you're not going to lose me."
He let out a shuddering breath at your touch, his entire body tense with fear. "Iâ" His voice caught in his throat, and he closed his eyes, trying to steady himself. "I've seen too many people die," he admitted, his voice barely audible. "I couldn'tâ" His words faltered, a tear slipping past his stoic defenses, but he quickly wiped it away, cursing under his breath.
You reached up with your other hand, brushing your thumb against his cheek. "You don't have to face this alone, Hoshina."
He looked at you thenâreally looked at youâand for a moment, it seemed like the entire world had slowed. He felt something shift inside him, something he couldn't explain. His protective instinct had always been there, but thisâthis was something different. Something more powerful, something that gripped him in a way he couldn't control.
In that moment, Hoshina realized he had been fooling himself all along. It wasn't just about duty. It wasn't just about protecting the people he cared about or fighting against the Kaiju. He had been terrified of letting anyone close, terrified of loving someone because it meant he could lose them. But now, holding you in his arms, knowing how much he needed you, he understood.
He needed you, more than he ever wanted to admit.
The medics arrived just in time, and Hoshina reluctantly allowed them to take over. As they moved you onto a stretcher, he stood frozen, watching with his arms still outstretched toward you, as if he could somehow keep you from slipping away.
But you looked at him, your eyes meeting his once more, a faint, comforting smile tugging at the corner of your lips. "I'm going to be okay, Hoshina," you whispered, and even though you were still pale, still weak, you managed to say it with all the conviction you could muster. "I promise."
He didn't reply, but his heart, which had been clenched tightly in fear just moments ago, slowly began to ease.
The battle had ended, but the war within Hoshina was far from over.
The medics had worked quickly, stabilizing you before rushing you to the base's infirmary. Hoshina had wanted to go with you, but he'd been stopped at the doorâhis commanding officer Mina Ashiro had insisted that he take a moment to recover, to tend to his own wounds, but he hadn't heard a word she'd said. All he could think about was you. Was it enough? Had they saved you?
He paced back and forth outside the infirmary, his usual calm demeanor gone. His hands were trembling, not from fatigue, but from the overwhelming weight of what had just happened. What if you hadn't made it? The thought was enough to send a cold shiver down his spine.
Minutes felt like hours.
When the door finally opened, his breath caught in his throat. You stood there, looking pale but alive. Your side was wrapped in bandages, but your eyesâyour eyes were still sharp, still focused, and that alone was enough to ease the storm brewing in his chest.
You met his gaze, your lips curving into a tired smile. "Told you I'd be okay," you said, your voice still a little hoarse but carrying a lightness that Hoshina couldn't ignore.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The weight of the day hung between you like a fragile thread, but Hoshina couldn't hold it in any longer. His heart still hammered in his chest, his chest tight with the lingering fear of losing you.
He stepped toward you, the words slipping out before he could stop them. "Don't ever do that again," he said, his voice low but full of quiet intensity. His hand reached for yours, fingers brushing against yours with a gentleness that was rare for him. "Don't you everâ" he stopped himself, taking a shaky breath. "You can't just throw your life away like that."
His words were laced with a desperation that you hadn't seen before. It was as if he was speaking from a place deep inside himself that he had never allowed to showâhis fears, his worries, his need to protect you.
You took a small step forward, closing the distance between you. "I don't think I'm the one who's been reckless, Hoshina," you said softly. Your gaze softened as you reached up, touching his face gently with your hand. "You've been holding yourself back for too long."
Hoshina flinched at your touch, his eyes flicking down to where your hand rested against his cheek. The warmth of your touch made his pulse race, but there was something else tooâsomething he hadn't expected. It was the sense of comfort, of belonging, and it was something that he had tried to push away for so long.
"I don't want to lose you," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper, the words almost as if he was afraid of speaking them out loud. "I can't⌠I can't keep pretending that I don't care. Youâ" he broke off, exhaling slowly as if the admission had drained him completely.
For a brief moment, there was silence. You stared at him, eyes soft and understanding. Then you smiled, that familiar warmth reaching your eyes. "You don't have to pretend anymore, Hoshina."
He swallowed hard, his eyes never leaving yours. His heart beat loudly in his chest, and the weight of his own emotions felt like it was about to crush him. But in that moment, he didn't care. He didn't care about the war, the missions, or the responsibilities that had always kept him distant from everyone else.
All he cared about was you.
You could see the uncertainty in his eyes, the lingering doubt that maybe this was all too much, too fast. You stepped closer, gently cupping his face in your hands, guiding him to look at you. "It's okay. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."
Hoshina felt his chest tighten as the rush of relief washed over him. He couldn't help but lean into your touch, his hand slowly coming up to rest over yours, his thumb brushing against the back of your hand.
"You're not going to leave me," he repeated softly, almost as if testing the words, tasting the promise they carried.
You shook your head gently, your voice soft but certain. "I'm not going anywhere."
For the first time in a long while, Hoshina allowed himself to truly relax. It wasn't all fixed. There were still battles ahead, still scars to heal, but for now, he allowed himself to believe in the quiet comfort of your words.
He wasn't alone anymore. And maybe that was enoughâfor now.
The tension between you two slowly ebbed, the space between you shrinking as you stood there in the infirmary. The faint hum of the lights and the distant sounds of the base were the only noise, but it felt like the world had quieted around you both. In the midst of everythingâthe war, the losses, the dangersâthe two of you had found a small, fragile moment of peace.
Hoshina couldn't stop looking at you. His eyes traced the curve of your face, the way your hair fell around your shoulders, the way your lips curved into a smile despite the pain you'd just been through. You were still here, standing in front of him, and that was more than he could've asked for.
His heart, still racing from the events of the day, slowly began to settle as he absorbed the truth that you were alive, that he hadn't lost you, but there was still something weighing on him. Something that had been gnawing at him ever since that battle. Something he couldn't run from any longer.
The air between you felt thick now, charged with the unsaid words that had been building for so long. His fingers twitched at his sides, longing to reach for you again, but there was something more pressingâsomething inside him that was finally pushing him to speak.
He let out a shaky breath, his heart pounding again, louder this time. His gaze dropped for a moment as his hand rubbed the back of his neck, the action betraying his nervousness. You noticed, and it made you smile a little. It was rare for Hoshina to show this kind of vulnerability. For all his strength, for all his calm in the face of danger, this was different. This was him being human.
"I⌠I've never been good with words," Hoshina started, his voice rough. He cleared his throat and looked back up at you, locking his gaze with yours. "I've spent so long pushing people away, pretending I didn't care, thinking it would be easier that way." His eyes softened, a vulnerability in them that only you could see. "But I can't keep doing that. Not with you."
You tilted your head slightly, waiting for him to continue.
"You're important to me," he said, his words coming out slow and deliberate, like he was forcing himself to accept them. "More than I ever realized. When I saw you⌠when I thought I'd lost youâŚ" He trailed off, his breath catching. He stared at you, the depth of his feelings laid bare in the silence between you two. "I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. IâI don't want to lose you."
Your heart swelled, hearing the rawness in his voice. This was Hoshina, the man who had always been so composed, so focused, but here he was, completely open, completely unguarded. And it was all for you.
You stepped closer to him, your voice soft and tender. "Hoshina..."
He closed his eyes for a moment, his hands clenched at his sides as if fighting the urge to reach out for you. The words were there, burning at the back of his throat, but it felt so overwhelming. Could he really say it out loud? Could he put those feelings into words?
When he opened his eyes again, they were softer, more vulnerable than you'd ever seen. He took a step closer to you, and for the first time, the distance between you wasn't one of duty or fearâit was one of connection. He took a deep breath, his voice steady but full of emotion.
"I love you."
The words hung in the air, raw and unpolished but sincere. There was no hesitation this time, no wall he had to break through. He didn't need to hide anymore. He had said it. And for the first time, Hoshina felt light. The weight of the years spent running from his feelings lifted, and he stood there, waiting for your response with nothing but sincerity in his eyes.
You stood there in shock for just a second, the depth of his words sinking in. And then you smiled. It wasn't a quiet smile or a gentle oneâit was something more profound, something that filled the space between you two, something that told him everything he needed to know.
"I love you too," you whispered, and it was as if the world had suddenly snapped back into focus.
Hoshina let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. The tension in his body finally dissolved as his hand reached out to take yours, his fingers intertwining with yours. For once, there was no doubt, no fear, just you and himâno more walls, no more barriers.
"I won't let you go," he said quietly, his thumb gently brushing against the back of your hand. "I'll protect you. No matter what."
You nodded, squeezing his hand in return. "I'll be right here," you replied softly. "With you. Always."
The confession wasn't just a declaration of loveâit was a promise. A promise that no matter the battles, no matter the odds, you would face them together.
And for the first time in a long time, Hoshina believed in something beyond the fight. He believed in you. He believed in this.

ଳ Content: Soshiro Hoshina Boyfriend Headcanons ft. Jealousy
ଳ Pairing: soshiro hoshina x f!reader
ଳ Word count: 700~
If the dictionary was a picture book, his portrait would be next to the word jealous.
Although he claims to be logical and levelheaded and anything but a jealous man, he knew that somewhere deep inside of him, he is a very jealous man--though he may never admit it.
He could be unstable when jealous, but he just can't control it. Does he like it? No, but he canât just pluck it out of him.
Definitely blame you for his jealous tendencies, saying, "he's never been like this before," except he's always been a jealous boy. Always. Heâs just trying to justify himself.
When he likes something, he tends to get obsessed with it, like a kid who tastes candies for the first time and can't get enough. He always wants more, and more is never enough.
He's extremely impatient with you, especially when he's trying to meet you during his break or day off. Why are you so slow? He doesn't have time on his side; a Kaiju could pop out at any moment now.
He hates being away from you for an extended period, especially when he's in a meeting and can't watch out for the wolves of men surrounding you.
It's not that he doesn't trust you. He does. He just doesn't trust the species of men.
You want to train? If it's not with him, he's up and rushing to you to see if it's with a girl.
When he's with his captain, he doesn't act so foolish. But if you're talking to a man and he sees you while he's with his captain, that little interaction would be on his mind until he sees you and the first thing heâd asks you is, "Who's that guy that talked to you earlier?" "What'd you talked about?"
Or when he catches you laughing at a joke made by another man that isnât him, he would sneak up on you and asks, "What's so funny?" with his gaze narrowed and scrutinizing.
Bonus:
Soshiro didn't consider himself the jealous typeânever. And even if he was, he would never admit it because he was logical, levelheaded, and far too disciplined to let something as trivial as emotions get the best of him.
At least, that's what he keeps telling himself.
And yet his jaw tightened, and his arms crossed as he watched you laugh a little too hard at something your fellow recruit was saying. He wasn't even aware of his brow, which often twitched as he stood there.
But still, it wasn't jealousy. Definitely not, he keeps telling himself. He was justâŚannoyed. Yeah, he was just annoyed. Irritated. Perhaps a little cranky from waking up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
That has to be the reason why. There was no other possible reason.
But then, why couldn't he tear his gaze away from you? Why did his stomach coiled every time that recruit raked a hand through his hair, grinning at you like you were the only person in the room?
He's definitely flirting.
"Oh? What's this?" Kikoru's smug voice resonated from beside him. "Is our Vice-Captain Hoshina jealous?"
"I don't get jealous," Soshiro huffed, but the way his fingers curled into biceps said otherwise.
"Mhmm." Kikoru hummed, not even pretending to believe him as her gaze bounced between you and her captain. "You're definitely cutting poor Sota's limbs with your eyes, right now."
"No, why would I? I'm justâŚkeeping an eye on the recruits."
At that, Kikoru rolled her eyes. "If you're so worry why don't you just go over there and say something? Y'know, like what you always do," she pointed out, definitely mocking him, but Soshiro was too occupied to care.
Instead, he rolled his eyes as he muttered, "I don't always do that," but he was already rolling his shoulders, already shifting his weight.
Three.
He flexed his fingers.
Two.
He exhaled sharply through his nose.
One.
He began moving. His legs carried him across the room before he halted beside you and draped an arm over your shoulder like he owned the space next to you. Like he had every right to be here.
"Hey, babe," he said, loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. "Oh, and who's your friend?" He regarded the man next to you as if he hadn't noticed the man before.
You immediately stiffened at this as you mentally prepared yourself. You knew exactly where this was going and couldn't help but exhale slowly before you gestured to the recruit. "Vice-Captain Hoshina, this is Sota. He was just telling meââ
"Wow," Soshiro interjected, nodding like he had been listening. "Sounds like a funny guy. Haha." He pretended to laugh, though it sounded artificial. "You've definitely got to tell me those jokes, Sota-san.â
The poor recruit blinked, clearly uncertain if he was being offered a death sentence or if this was genuine. "Uh⌠of course, sir?"
And before he could stop himself, Soshiro was already saying something stupid. Something along the line of, "Say, we've never sparred before, right?" and Sota immediately paled, his vigor no longer there.
"N-No, sir?"
"Ah, well we should fix that someday." Soshiro smiled as he pulled you closer. Yet he isn't jealous. He was just curious about Sota's ability to fight. Besides, he is the vice-captain, after all, and nothing is better than training his recruits, right?

soshiro hoshina wasnât the type to get competitive. he liked a good challenge, sure, but he wasnât out here looking for rivals or anything.
but when he overheard a few officers talking about youâthe vice-captain of another defense force unit, someone just as skilled in close combat, someone whose swordsmanship was on par with hisâwell.
he got a little curious.
which is how he ended up making his way over to your division under the excuse of an inter-unit training session, hands in his pockets, that ever-present easygoing grin tugging at his lips.
âheard youâre pretty good with a blade,â he drawled, watching as you tilted your head at him, unimpressed.
âheard the same about you,â you shot back, spinning your sword once before settling into a stance. âwanna test that out?â
yeah. yeah, he liked you already.
and after sparring with youâafter clashing swords, matching your footwork, watching you grin when you nearly got himâhe realized he might like you a little too much.
âdamn,â he muttered when you finally knocked his blade from his hand, breathless but grinning.
ânot bad, hoshina,â you said, resting your sword against your shoulder. âmaybe next time youâll actually beat me.â
his heart did something weird.
âŚoh. oh, this was bad.

HANDLE WITH CARE .á
⊠â in which soshiro hoshina finds himself getting treated by his favorite nurse, you.
⊠â includes: soshiro hoshina x gn!reader. fluff. cw: mentions of blood and injuries, inaccurate use of medical terms ?? sorry i just used google uhm. wc: 990. established (secret !!!) relationship. reblogs and feedback are much appreciated !!
⊠â note: i became obsessed with these two that i might just write a part two of reader treating him after the tachikawa base raid arc actually.
soshiro hoshina does not play favorites.
when it comes to his subordinates, at least.
when it comes to the medical team assigned to the tachikawa base, however, that is when he plays favorites (though you would never see the vice captain of the third division actually admit that; he prefers calling it his âpreferencesâ). whenever he finds himself in the baseâs infirmary, he will always look for you. and when heâs lucky, which on most occasions he is, then heâll have you treat his wounds. itâs just something that hoshina has grown accustomed to whenever he finds himself there. nothing more, nothing less (a lie).
you were a special case for the vice captain. there was just something about the way you handled his wounds compared to others. call it picky, but he just prefers the gentle treatment that you give his wounds. (how come hoshina constantly prefers to be treated by you when others would treat him the same? isn't that part of your job in the first place?)
(the answer is simpleâitâs simply an act of soshiro hoshina asking for some quality time, even if heâs all bruised and bloody.)
âiâm almost convinced that you do this on purpose sometimes.â
soshiro simply grins at you. you werenât entirely wrongâbut itâs not like hoshina asks himself to get hurt when he goes out on missions in the first place. he could handle himself pretty well; he has the high position of being the vice captain of the third division, for christâs sake. but perhaps it is inevitable that even the vice captain would come out of a mission unscathed.
âi like the concern from you.â
you give him a lighthearted eyeroll, to which he only grins even wider. "i'm sure you do," yet that grin slowly dissipated as he winced slightly at the feeling of the alcohol touching the wound near his eyebrow. âsorry, did that hurt too much?â you asked him, worried that it mightâve stung too much for his liking. this type of close proximity was normal for you and him. after all, itâs not like this is the first time your face was this close to hisâthough those are times when hoshina feels rather affectionate with you rather than in pain due to some wound he got.
ânothing i canât handle, love.â he says, recovering quite fast from the alcohol sting. he was then met with a gentle tap on the lipsâhoshina knows it was a warning from you. âwatch your words, vice captain.â you say, applying a small gauze pad to his wound and securing it with paper tape.
âcanât really help it when you look so pretty up close, sweetheart.â
you ignored his remark but soshiro could see the smile that tugged on your lips at the petname. you then moved on to his next wound, which is on his left shoulder. his expression softens as he watches you inspect his wound, a small amount of guilt bubbling up inside of him. âthis is gonna need a little stitch,â you sighed, grabbing another cotton ball, pouring the right amount of alcohol on it, and preparing to gently dab it on the wound. âand this might hurt a bit again.â you give him a heads up.
âlike i said, itâs nothing that i canât handle,â he reassured. whether itâs you heâs reassuring or himself to convince himself, neither of you really know. he hissed slightly when the cotton ball came into contact with his skin; it was barely even heard that he hissed in the first place. but you noticed it; you always do. you would notice everything about the man before you and he would do the same.
after cleaning his shoulder wound, you proceeded to prepare to stitch it up. there was no one else in the infirmary at the moment; it was now only you and hoshina there. he silently watched you as you quickly arranged the surgical suture. and even when you started the stitching, the deafening silence was still comfortable.Â
soshiro gently raised his right arm since it was uninjured and used his hand to smoothly tuck your other strands of hair behind your ear. you looked at him, raising an eyebrow at his gesture. he smiles at you in return. âyour hair might get in the way. we donât want my stitches to have your hair stuck in them now, don't we?â
you quickly finish up the stitch and put gauze on top as well. âiâm sorry.â soshiroâs apology is as genuine as it always is whenever he gets treated in this same room. âiâm starting to feel quite better now, though. couldnât do it without my favorite nurse.â he continues, as he grabs ahold of your unoccupied hand.
he hears you chuckle at his words as you interlock your fingers together. âavoid arduous training or activities for a good one week and youâll be good as new.â you said, sighing as now youâre finally done with treating your boyfriend. âeh? no fair. i have to go help the rookies train the day after tomorrow.â
âiâm sure captain ashiro would let you off the hook in the meantime, soshiro.â
âoh, weâre on a first name basis now?â he asks, and this time it was his turn to raise an eyebrow. you bring your other hand up to his cheek, caressing it as your thumb grazes his cheek bone. he leans into your palm as if it were a reflex. âweâve always been on a first name basis, dummy.â you say.
âmaybe all of my pain could go away if you just gave me a little kiss, you know, as your vice captain.â
ânow thatâs just abuse of authority. do you ask other nurses for a kiss too?â you pouted.
âthatâs why your my favorite nurse.â he replies, clearly emphasizing the word âfavoriteâ as he steals a kiss from you.
yeah, vice captain soshiro hoshina definitely does not play favorites.
