What If New Media, Would Be Replced?
Eve Jay Taboclaon
As I imagine when new media was replaced to print and broadcast media, my thoughts were nostalgic and will go back into 90's. Writing this time is a highly recommended to everybody. Your rants and dramas posting in social media will turn into writing. No more freedom of expression, all the vloggers in youtube were jobless. Imagine, you have iphone 12 but doesn't have internet? Looks boring though. Imagine, memes were printed? Looks cringe for me. We cannot post an advocacy through online, opinionated comments about government. We cannot search articles anymore on google instead you should get books from library. Without new media can ruin everything, however this era was worst than before but think about the changes, we just cant stable forever we can make some changes as a youth. Newspapers is back to use, but higher price as a result of many users.
The time management of ours was truly managed because of new media disappeared. New media can be a barrier of our life routine because it can be addictive to everybody, even scammers can advantage this thing to steal money. Cybercrimes will lessen, also the threats from online world. It was a huge change when new media disappeared, some were happy and some were sad. When printing media was back, the higher price will pay If the modern printers will existed, the ink was high priced. When the broadcast media in on air, televisions and radios will had a rush sale and higher price for that. In conclusion, if new media has not relevant these days print and broadcast media will take the place and it has disadvantages and there are some advantages. @liss142020

Print Media, Broadcast, and New Media
Printmedia, broadcast, and new media was media channels where the source came from. So we talk about here the advantages and the impact of this three.Somehow, the major advantage of the print media is that their static nature allows for indefinite exposures. In theory, someone could study a beautiful magazine advertisement or read through interesting content for several minutes. It contains audience selectivity, flexible placements, involved messages, unlike broadcast media, which have to be quick-hitting, newspaper and magazine ads often include longer, more involved copy. The broadcast has benefit which is wide reaching and audience targeting. A lot of listeners could get the info easily of what you target.Timely message delivery, if you notice in the radios, there's no dead air instead they delivered the message ahead of time.Furthermore, new media is accessible anytime and anywhere. It is considered as a news tool, you can check the news as any time you want. People say conmected and new media is a new tool of communication. These three that I mentioned has the significance of our lives as a matter of fact it can spread important information but in a different way.
What's the great and bad impact in our daily lives in using print media, broadcast and new media? Older generation or our elders trying to accept its nature of new media. Some were glad and some were didn't. New media was a highly influence to our youths to communicate, trends and easy access to see news around the globe, however this can be a bad effect by overusing new media like internet addiction, seeing pornographic content, bullying etc. Broadcast media is mostly tool because its affordable like radios. This can be a great impact to those people were disabled like blind and also elders. So they can listen through radio. Print media was a traditional used by our elders. Furthermore, as a teenager I prefer using print media compared to other media channels. Print media contains legitimate source as well, they distinguish the irrelevant information. @liss142020

"The setbacks of Piracy"
Piracy can be found hiding in plain sight, they are almost everywhere, you might even have one without your knowledge. Music people listen to, movies they watch at home, stuff they buy on some cheap market, and the list goes on. We can't deny the fact that this is how we are, at least in the Philippines. Other countries may be experiencing it worse than us, or perhaps better, or maybe the same. It is not fair for content creators and other similar likings for their hard work to be distributed and gaining profit without the original maker having its share. These problem have been with us for a long time and until now the problem is still with us. How come piracy is still an unresolved problem with the technology we have. Maybe piracy is something we cannot get rid of, maybe it is part of human nature, only time will tell.
Governments, industries, and companies around the world had taken action against this problem. They had done all they can to minimise the problem but after all that, it is still noticeable. The act of pirating someones work has become unethical and immoral as it should be as piracy is similar to stealing. Stealing copyrighted material is punishable by law especially in countries like the United States. Artists and content creators are the most affected by piracy since their work is one the most easy to replicate and distribute. Most companies and industries have done their unique way of countermeasures in order to prevent and minimise piracy of their product. Even with all of that, people still find ways to exploit such preventive measures. We can still do something that may be ground breaking that will make piracy a problem of the past. In the end of the day, we can think of ways of mitigating this problem for a while.

“The Good and the Bad: How Social Media Affected Me as a Gen Z Individual”
Social Media has a good effect and bad effect to me. As my childhood, I experienced being outside all day long while playing to my childhood friends. That time, there's no internet nor devices to be used. When I reach adolescent stage, my first cellphone came and learned different stuffs from the internet including facebook. It was fun using social media until I found something suspicious like pornographic contents, malicious videos, violence and etc. That was unexpected and I didn't notice while I'm scrolling into my newsfeed, Social Media nowadays are worst than before. Wayback in 2012 while I'm scrolling to my newsfeed it was peaceful and memes were not made to offend someone. As a Gen Z individual, there was an impact of social media as a result of procrastinate and doesn't manage my time in studying. I was addictive from games until now, sometimes my mom will yell at me to do household chores but still didn't respond. Social media changes my everyday routine, sometimes I was using my phone all day and gets lazy to do important things.
However, social media has a great impact to me considering that I can make friends online even though not physically but virtually. Some netizes were toxic, at this point I should follow the netiquette as a user of social media. Social media boosts my confidence to post or show my advocacy and I have freedom to express my thoughts and share everything to public. It affects me to be more productive in my studies as well. While the online class was already implemented, social media gives a help to every students to contact with their classmates and teachers.I find social media was an entertainment to me when I sad, it make me laugh and inspire by reading inspirational quotes. In conclusion, I cannot tell if the social media can be a destruction or a benefit to my life. I am a Gen Z individual, All I can say that you should control yourself your time in social media and your important things as well.

Media and Government. A Love-Hate Relationship
The media has the power to ridicule and mock the government at the same time the government uses the media for political reasons. This was the real issue wayback 2018. An official statement of the President was changed into statement that can offend to everybody. As a result, the ABS CBN network went shutdown. President Rodrigo Duterte accused the network of unfair reporting, as well as of allegedly taking his advertising money in the 2016 elections but then failing to run his political ads. He earlier threatened to file charges against the media company for allegedly defrauding him. The company has denied the allegations of unfair or biased reporting. Aside from that we all don't why the media doing that. I see a "Love-Hate" Relationship between Government and media.
Aside from a negative media let us talk to a strong  relationship between media and government. It has a profound impact on the information to which the public has access. Historically, governments have relied on media to communicate with citizens, and stakeholders around the world, ensuring that they receive the information that will shape their day-to-day decisions, from what to buy, where to live, which school to attend to issues surrounding their health, safety and political views.
In turn, a strong media assesses this information, analyses and instigates stimulating discussions that ensure a nation’s identity is always evolving in a positive and insightful way, and never stifled. It also helps an economy grow by creating confidence in the market through the dissemination of knowledge that is objective and information that is accurate, things that form a key foundation for investment decisions. So, it’s clear that for a nation and a country to grow, they must have a strong and responsible media.

"The Egg"
You were on your way home when you died.
It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.
And that’s when you met me.
“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”
“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.
“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup,” I said.
“I… I died?”
“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.
You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”
“More or less,” I said.
“Are you god?” You asked.
“Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.”
“My kids… my wife,” you said.
“What about them?”
“Will they be all right?”
“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.”
You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.
“Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”
“Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”
“Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”
“Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,”
“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.”
You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?”
“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”
“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”
“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”
I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.
“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”
“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”
“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”
“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”
“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.”
“Where you come from?” You said.
“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”
“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”
“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”
“So what’s the point of it all?”
“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”
“Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted.
I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.”
“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”
“No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”
“Just me? What about everyone else?”
“There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.”
You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…”
“All you. Different incarnations of you.”
“Wait. I’m everyone!?”
“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.
“I’m every human being who ever lived?”
“Or who will ever live, yes.”
“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”
“And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added.
“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.
“And you’re the millions he killed.”
“I’m Jesus?”
“And you’re everyone who followed him.”
You fell silent.
“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Everyhappy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.”
You thought for a long time.
“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”
“Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”
“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”
“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”
“So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…”
“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”
And I sent you on your way.

A Stunning Taekwondo Jin
When Pauline Louise Lopez won a series of medals for the Philippines in taekwondo events in the past several years, much was said about the Filipino-American as a prime example of beauty and skill.
While the 19-year-old Lopez blushes at the compliment, she respectfully brushes them aside like an opponent’s kick, and says: “Somehow, I never think of that. If you worry about looks then you’re in the wrong business because takewondo is a tough sport. And you can get hurt.”
While California girls her age embraced the surf, soccer, or even basketball, taekwondo seemed like a natural fit for the Los Angeles-born Lopez. “My father, Efren Lopez Senior, was once on the Philippine national team. In fact, he was teammates with my current coach, Igor Mella. I was 9 years old when my father saw that I had potential in taekwondo and I just never let go. But if you look at it, my roots are in the sport. And now, my life as well.”
“The sport has taught me so much,” she added. “I really don’t know how I would prioritize school without takewondo. The 5 tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit have guided me in a lot of things that I do. So I place a lot of value on the sport."
After reaching the quarterfinals of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, Lopez began to rack up medals in the Southeast Asian Games and the Asian Youth Games.
“After the 2010 Asian Games, I realized that I could do well in the sport. Even when I didn’t such as that tournament in Egypt, it was all about learning from the experience and improving," she said.
"I think if you accept that there are shortcomings then you know what you need to work on. If you don’t accept it then you cannot correct it. For some, they will say that I came up short. I look at it as a first step and the quarterfinals wasn’t so bad. It’s taking the learnings from that and improving on everything," Lopez added.
Now, the 5-foot-6 teenager has a chance of taking a bigger step – the Olympics. Next week, Lopez and some of her colleagues will compete in the Asian Taekwondo Continental Qualifying Games for Rio at the Marriott Convention Center from April 16-20.
Looking at the biggest sporting event on the planet, Lopez reveals wisdom that belies her youth.
“Every athlete has dreams of winning medals or championships. Everyone would like to go to the Olympics too. But when you’re young, you focus more on the short term goals because you do have to make it first. When you get past that, the Olympic dream becomes more of a reality," she explains.
Lopez adds: “Remember when I said that how for some, making the quarterfinals means coming up short? Well, the qualifiers is not about winning or losing but giving my best and not giving up. I’m there to show everyone my best. And when you come up short, then you get back up and go it again.
“That’s life and one of the basic tenets of taekwondo – perseverance.”

"Anak" (descriptive essay)
Having a mother is a blessing given by God.There's no perfect mother yet she gives unconditional love to her children. She struggles for her loved ones happiness and wellness. A member of OFW is not easy.
Their play focuses on the relationship of a parent and a child who comes accross a trial which concerns misunderstanding due to communication gaps between her daugther and the mother. Her daugther Carla, commit a bad hobbit when she came home. She needs guidance and love, not expensive things fron Hong Kong. It's a moral lesson evolves around the understanding how parents try to make a living for their children. The sacrifices one has to give in order for her children to have a better future and meet their needs.
In this play, both have to realize their short comings and constant communication is a must to avoid these gaps. A parent and a child should have an open communication. Love and peace is the most important to a family.

Marxist Criticism
Base on the story, Alfredo was a lawyer and Julia was a sister in law of the judge. Alfredo and Esperanza was engaged, while Alfredo and Julia has a love affair. When the days passed, Alfredo noticed that Julia was not a rich one. So he left Julia and he went back to Esperanza. When they met again,Afredo's feelings for Julia was faded. Ezperanza still chooses to marry him.
Feminism
Esperanza is the typical woman, waiting for the decision of his man. She's waiting for Alfredo's response and she has no idea that her man had a love affair with Julia. That is just so sad. Women those days were really dependent. Alfredo displays weakness, weakness that should not be shown as a man. And be faithful who you loved.
