A curl of a smile, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she met his gaze in the mirror. " Adventurous? All things that are beautiful in this world belong to me, including the fashion of other, strange places. I just have yet to discover the extent of my own domain, " she said, seeming for all the world as though she truly believed it too.
" Since these were a gift, I wanted to try them on as soon as possible. And since you seem to have at least some sense for what is beautiful, " she paused, eyes raking over the king's usual attire with an almost-teasing quirk of her lips, " I thought perhaps you might appreciate them with me. " Definitely not because she'd sensed the opportunity to gain his attention, for good or for ill.
an arm uncurled from the other, just to reach up and slowly pinch the bridge of his nose. does ishtar not have her own mirror to- ah, wait. he sees what she's doing. a soft sigh, and the king let his hand fall back to his other arm, still crossed arm, those ever tired crimson eyes staring at the goddess through the mirror. “ yes, they look good on you. ” sure, gilgamesh will give ishtar what she wanted at this moment. “ what ? have you decided to be adventurous with fashion ? ”

She pays him little mind, humming to herself as she sways back and forth before the mirror. She wears an airy outfit ill-suited to the antarctic clime, her arms lined with glittering ruby and gold bangles that click together with her movements. " Like them? " she asks, ever seeking compliments for herself and her treasures. " Parvati gave them to me and I just had to try them on. "

" I am fairly certain I still have a bell and some horn ornaments left over from Gugulanna. Now then, where did I put those ...? " Oh, don't mind her! She's just gonna search for those real quick.

Ishtar watched as her sister got to work, silently pulling another sheet of the paper over to herself. She had made just one of the cranes before bringing it to show to Ereshkigal, and was not confident she remembered all of the folds.
So she started making a dragon as well, as best she could. " It's all just folds, " Ishtar explains, " but sometimes it's hard to tell what goes where. And it's really difficult to keep everything straight. "
Oh dragons sounded fun. How complicated were they? Eresh flipped to that page to study the diagrams with interest. They certainly seemed more complicated than the crane ones had.
"I want a dragon. I wonder if it's as difficult as it looks?" She stole one of the square papers, studying it before comparing to the first listed diagram. "So this goes like this...."

" Just paper, " Ishtar said, grabbing the stack of pre-cut square paper that Emiya had provided her with from beneath her chair. There were many patterns on the colorful sheets, most of them based on traditional Japanese kimono designs.
" Yes, and frogs, and dragons, and even these tiny little paper stars that resemble candies. " She had tried a few of those a while back, and had loved the crunchy little sweets.
Ereshkigal reached immediately to take a closer look at it as she set the crane aside, interested. "What do we need to do it?" It looked like the crane was made of a single sheet of paper, but was that really all it needed?
She flicked through curiously, noting the different shapes and items people could make with just paper.
"A cat?"

"It's cute. I didn't know that mortals had started doing things like this." She lifts it, turning it over carefully for a closer inspection. It doesn't look too complicated... Maybe she should try some? Perhaps in brighter colors, and then she could fill her room– "Where was this book?"
" I brought it with me, " Ishtar said, pulling the book from beneath her chair and sliding it across the table. " There are a lot more kinds than just cranes, but... I thought maybe we could make some together. "

" Is it? " She arches a brow as a drive-by robbery happens before their very eyes. Crimson eyes flick to the small creature, then back to Leanne. " Well, I suppose it's giving an excellent demonstration. In the future, if you wish to provide offerings of food, it may behoove you to know that I prefer fresh bread. "
"Eat it. It's for eating." Did Ishtar never see a real egg before.

STARES.
And with lightning quick reflexes, jumps to snatch the egg from her hands. “Fou!” Gimmie!
Ishtar does not even attempt to stop it. " Fine by me, " she said, lifting a brow as the creature scarfed it down. " I prefer mine gold-plated and jewel-encrusted. "

Ishtar sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. " Always with the bureaucracy... Fine. I will accompany you to visit Roman. It would be best for us not to get separated - there are too many meddlesome individuals here. Something is bound to go awry. "
She just wanted out of the frigid base for a while, and she would not tolerate tagalongs or interference. " After, we will need to procure currency... And I have an idea about where we can attain it. "
"Not sure." There were a few cities they could probably get permission to visit as long as they didn't linger too long, but which one would be best? Leanne considered it thoughtfully.
"I'll go ask Dr. Roman and see if he has a suggestion on where it'd be best to go for shopping. We probably don't want to be gone too long in case we're needed after all."

"Ishtar, it's an egg."
" And? What am I supposed to do with it? " Gives it a little shake.

Hands Ishtar one egg. Just one.
She holds it, lifting a brow in puzzlement. " It's rather small, is it not? The ones I'm used to have this... little stand, with a flared base. "

" Is it? I've said and done much worse, you know, " Ishtar hummed, using one of her arrows to scrape the blood from beneath her fingernails. " When given insult, a goddess's wrath is always justifiable. Who are you, to judge the divine by the standards of mere mortals? "
