for the Q&A's! not sure if this has been asked before but, was there a moment where the twins were separated and they questioned if they could do it themselves? 'cause y'know they always had each other until some point. im not saying it has to be sappy or something but just a second of hesitation of doubt– wondering if they could/should be up to something alone

Yeah i think so!

In the second half of s1 Two gets really desperate trying to keep up with Draxum on his own. His uncertainty that he would be enough to fill in his and Ones roles drove him to kind of overcompensate by conducting his mystic experiments again. He knew that Draxum wouldnt be happy with only Two, so he decided he'd make himself better, which ultimately just got him into more trouble. During that time, I can see him having a moment where he thinks he'd be better off with One, despite their fallout in the middle of the season. Having One there tends to be a lot easier and more certain for Two in general, which is why he was so out of it at the beginning of season 2. It also is just a reflection of all his insecurities. When One was on the run in season 2, i can see him wishing Two was there to help him with his heart. Being on the run probably brought back some memories and made One feel nostalgic. That, and the fact that he was still pretty weak from the armor definitely would've made him think it would be easier/better if Two was with him.

Out of all the brothers and general immediate family (including April), who do One and Two prefer being around? If possible, why?

Two would prefer being around April because he doesn't feel a pressure to "try" with her. With Raph and Mikey, Two gets the feeling that he needs to behave a certain way and live up to whatever expectations he thinks they have for him once he's integrated into the family, mostly about being a good, responsible brother and reliable part of the team. It's the same with Splinter but to a much higher degree, so Two probably feels the most nervous around him. Mostly because of what they went through together in Operation Normal, and how they became close independently of the rest of the brothers, Two doesn't feel that same sense of expectation and pressure with April. One would prefer to be around Splinter because he didn't hurt him the way he hurt the others. He feels less guilty around Splinter than he does around Raph, Mikey, and Two. But he also doesn't want to make that obvious by always being around Splinter, so, ironically, it's kind of rare for One to choose to be around Splinter.

What do you think about "Midnight duo" being another duo name for leo and donnie? Unless you still want to stick with "Disaster Twins".

Midnight Duo is a cute name! We won't stop anyone from using it, but we're more familiar with Disaster Twins and have been using it name from the start so we'll probably just stick with that :)

Wanting to be more active on this blog in between chapters so…

Hey, how would 2-D react if someone told him he shouldn’t be trying to get Big mama‘s approval because he’ll never truly get it as she keeps using him to get things she wants? And well, he doesn’t seem to be seeking the approval of splinter. What if another adult tried to give him approval since they can tell that that’s what he wants.

One’s already pointed this out in The Hidden City Job and Two didn’t take it too well. Some part of him knows that One is right, but he’s so desperate to find his place that he doesn’t care.

Two is still so hung up on how Draxum treated him that he’s not satisfied with the praise he gets from Splinter because it’s not what he’s searching for. Two pulls away from that kind of familial acceptance because he wants to feel useful more than he wants to feel like part of family. What he really wants is for Draxum to notice his skills and usefulness but he knows he won’t get it. It ultimately depends on what kind of approval he’s getting. If he feels like he has value then he’ll continue to do anything to prove his usefulness. If he’s made to feel better about himself then he’ll be uncomfortable and won’t truly accept it for a while.
