No

It depends, really. There are places and situations she feels at home in, eventually, once she learns to trust them, people, too, are perceived with a sense of nostalgic familiarity.

It is rare, however. She learned early not to get all too used to the sense of comfort and safety a home might provide. It can be taken away far too easily. In a way, she both, makes her home wherever she goes, and never finds a place to quite belong (may it be a matter of fact in a given situation, or merely her anxieties rearing their ugly heads), she is restless and aimless, in that regard. She loves to travel, to see the world, but it is a curse, all the same.

It is not all doom and gloom, of course.

She belongs on a stage. Amongst people singing and dancing and drinking and making the best out of a short, fleeting moment of respite they are able to allow themselves.

She never quite feels as part of the crowd; a curiosity to look at, a traveler passing through. A dream, a pleasant memory. A mirage.

Nothing more.

She does belong, in her own way, certainly - but only for a moment or two, never to stay for long. It is not as though she will be gone forever, once she leaves. With each place she visits, she leaves behind new friends, who will welcome her with open arms, should she decide to show up unannounced once more.

'tis not for long, however. No such thing is meant to last. Not forever, anyway.

don't mind him, he's just coming up from behind her and ruffling her hair in a much wilder shape while setting down a plate with her favorite cake in front of her. maybe he got it somewhere. maybe he scammed someone to get the ingredients to make it right. it's funnier if it stays a mystery.

She attempts to complain; at first. The weak protests and mock-annoyance on her features, displayed with a pout, melt away as soon as she spots the treat the preacher offered out to her.

A moment of surprise follows, barely perceivable; then, a smile widens on her lips, charming and sweet.

"You really shouldn't have," she chirps, her tone full well conveying that she would have, indeed, been very upset, had he not kept her special day in mind.

Another mask. Another role she plays. But it goes deeper than that.

She is certain the moment of bewilderment upon spotting the cake has not been registered by the other, of course.

"You better stay and have a slice," she follows up cheekily.

"I would be horribly depressing, to have no one to share a sweet treat with, on my own birthday. Don't you think?"

She figures in this case she has ever right to be making demands.

ooc ✨ actually. i thought of another one. this might just be me, but i never had an issue with personal/non-rp blogs following my blogs. i do not want them to reblog my threads, obviously, but like? i never minded them sending in asks to be answered ic or liking my posts? it was very sweet, if anything?

idk maybe that's just me. i just never had a problem with personal blogs. no, i will not block them on sight, i will be just confused what they are following me for haha

ooc ✨ choosing rp partners based on blog aesthetics, tbh. i don't know if it's a trend, more of a habit, really, but it's such a stupid one. the quality of one's icon graphics does not equate to them being a remotely good writer. in fact, the most amazing writers i have ever known have had super simple blog themes

another ACTUAL trend that bother me a little are icons that make it impossible to see what emotion your muse is supposed to display. mind you, i don't care what you do with your blog graphics. you do you, it's your blog. i just do not really see a point in using icons in the first place, if you cannot tell what in the world is supposed to be happening in the picture, yanno?

☀ What’s your rp pet peeve?

ooc ✨ being repeatedly pushed for replies/being shamed for taking too long to reply. as much as i know that it's polite to answer as much and as quickly as possible, we have to remember rping is just a hobby. i will get to the things i want to write when i get to them. repeatedly bugging me for replies (or even worse, guilt-tripping people over them) only makes me write less, tbh

Being an OC RPer who dabbled into writing canon muses (mostly male canon muses), I can honestly say, there still is a huge dislike towards female muses in most fandoms. And if they are an OC? Even worse. My male OCs definitely got a lot more attention on average, which really is a pity. In that sense, I don't think there is a fandom that is particularly worse than others, when it comes to being open an accepting. It very much depends on the muse.

To compare; at the peak of my activity in the Overwatch fandom, my main (male canon character) blog had over 800 followers and really regular interactions. My biggest female OC blog, at the peak of its activity, had 200 followers at most. You see what I mean?

That being said; my best experiences as an OC writer definitely had been in the SGG Hades fandom. People almost immediately adopted my OC as part of the canon and were super chill and inviting. It genuinely was one of the best and sweetest experiences ever.

i think one of the worst things happening was one of my ship partners deciding, since i shipped with them, they were okay to use my very ace muse for their own uh... gratification in written form. when i told them i was super uncomfortable with that, they carried on, cause 'well, we are ship partners, so it's okay if i do it'. when i put my foot down, they did not talk to me for 2 weeks.

should have broken the friendship up there but. i was young and dumb hah

They were all awkward chuckles, carefully taking one deliberate step after another. Livio was not a dancer, that much was clear, but that on its own did not seem to be the source of his hesitation. He let her have the lead - quite expectedly.

Was he still... concerned? Worried he might hurt her, with every step he took, every move he made? Worried he might to something wrong?

She was not going to call it a "ridiculous" conclusion, when it really wasn't, all things considered.

And yet, contrary to whatever the man may have believed, Spark was of the conviction, he may have been a little too harsh on himself. The manner in which he did not seem to trust his own actions, at times...

None of it mattered now, of course. Or, at the very least, it mattered very little. After all, both of them were too busy to try and not step on each other's feet, to think too much about their daily struggles.

He's quite a bit taller than her - a trait all too easy to spot - and as such, they had to get creative with the positions of their hands, one of her own draped on the man's back, as even on her tippy toes she would not be able to reach his shoulders. Close.

Too close, to call this anything casual. Anything that does not matter.

It had been her idea; she was feeling restless that evening, as it was, and as of late, she had discovered the benefit of keeping a traveling companion for a prolonged period of time; they made for excellent source of entertainment.

The slight static lingered about in the background, as the tiny portable radio set up in the room continued playing; a song from the old world? All the way back from earth? Perhaps. A lovely tune, in any case. Calm and peaceful - not peaceful enough to help her relax, but this... this seemed to do the trick.

Had all of this been a dumb, impulsive idea? For sure.

...had she... longed to be close with him like this?

Perhaps.

Not that she would say it out loud.

No point in ruining a good thing by yappin'. Questioning stuff. Thinking too much.

She leaned in even closer to Livio, resting her cheek against his chest, straining her ears to find his heartbeat. It momentarily seemed to speed up. Good. As it should be.

In the corner of her eye, she caught him looking away - bashfully, most likely - and smiled to herself. This was fun.

They stayed like this for a while, lingering in something akin to an embrace, barely moving, still, if only to keep up the appearances of a dance.

One would wonder... why. Why bother.

"Hm. We'll make a decent dancer out of you, yet." Spark finally decided, leaning back to look up at the other, as the song came to an end. The smile never vanished from her features.

"Not today, though. It's getting late."

And despite the statement, she still did not move away, stubbornly stuck in place, one arm still wrapped around the other.

She was enjoying this. Far too much.

Enough to make her almost... concerned.

To make her question her own actions.

Almost. Not quite.
