Hello there! I'm Princess Melody Rylen of Grenlen. Though don't you dare call me a princess, stick with Melody. Puts us on better terms. I'm seventeen years of age and the cousin to Prince Eric of Denmark. I've lived with him since I was fifteen. I'm trying to accept my demons but it's not always easy. As they arise as often as the tide. Ooooh, please don't be a stranger! I promise I'm not too intimidating | [ Member of Disney Writers Roleplay. AU Melody. Please read my rules and headcanon]

────────── ”Hiya pals, and happy almost-summer!”
Anxious about the audition process of a group? Well, have no fear!
To kickstart a great summer, Disney Writers Roleplay is initiating a temporary *NEW* and *EASY* audition process!
Simply send in your audition, without even having to ask, and you’ll receive a response the minute one of our four moderators are online (which is very quick because the moderators are in 3 different timezones)! It cuts the wait time off by a whole lot!
NOTE: Some elements of the audition process are still in play!
You must, of course, read the rules thoroughly.
It must be a character that is not already taken in the group.
The audition sample should be 3 paragraphs, minimum, preferably with dialogue.
Sounds pretty neat, huh? Remember, you don’t have to ask before sending in your audition! Pick out an available character, and just pop in your audition!
We hope to see you reeeeal soon!

So, I have moved over HERE. And I think I’m going to keep this url here, still undecided about it. :3 I just needed a clean slate and better organization and things. BUT here are the things I’d like to keep:
Relationships/Dynamics because I think it’d be weird to “re-meet” all of you again, unless Mel hasn’t met you the first time around.
And Threads. If you feel like we should continue a thread just let me know and I’ll reblog it on that account and we can continue it.

"Pardon my staring, you just looked familiar. Like I've seen you before but cannot remember where."

"What? You want an autograph or something? You’ve been staring at me for the past three minutes."

"I’m from a place called Destiny Islands…it’s very small…and no one’s really heard of it from what I know. Everyone I’ve met elsewhere so far has never heard of it, at least." Kairi replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She wasn’t even sure where she was at this point. Each new land was a new adventure, but an unfamiliar one.
" . . . I've never heard of that . . . " She told the firey-haired girl. "But it sounds wonderful though." Melody smiled reassuringly and continued to led them to the parlor, taking a swift right before continuing. "This is Denmark, the Kingdom you're specifically in is ruled by the Cousin Eric. I'm Melody by the way."

"Well, yeah. Sort of." When he and/or his brother were messing around. Getting up to mischief. Doing the exact opposite of what they were told. Things tended to break. Totally on their own though! "I think I’ve brok- I mean A few vases have just jumped from the table before.” Good save Dash. Good save.
"Perhaps sound cheer them up? You know, give them words of encouragement each morning. -- They might not jump as much. But then again, they could -- I couldn't quite tell you for certain, but reminding them how unique they are certainly couldn't hurt."

Turning Aurora grinned when she heard, and recognized, the voice coming from behind her. “Melody! I did not know you were coming for a visit! Oh I am so glad to see you!” she exclaimed wrapping her arms around the other princess. “Of course! You are more than welcome to join me!”
Taking the girl’s arm she led her out to the garden with a basket on her other arm. “When did you get here?! Why was I not told? Oh I hope there’s a room ready for you…oh I am just so happy to see you!”
"I know!" She laughed," For if you had, it wouldn't have been a surprised, now would it?" Melody hugged her tightly, letting go after a moment or so. It felt like ages since Melody had inhaled that crisp German air last, and it made her heart ache to know that she would soon have to leave it again.
Melody smiled," I got here two days ago, and am staying for two or three more before I've got to go back. Do not fret Grimsby's taken it upon himself to alert your staff and such, he didn't want to worry you." She told the blonde, looking over as she followed the princess. "So, how have you been since I've seen you last?"

Melody was laughing, and Ariel allowed herself to smile at the outburst, grateful to see a smile on the face of the raven-haired girl who was almost always so serious when Ariel was in the room. She shook her head slightly, as if to assure the girl that it was fine, and that Ariel wasn’t offended in the slightest. She enjoyed it when she was allowed to hear someone laugh. Every laugh was different. Some were high, some deep, some were soft, and some, like Melody’s, were like a song just waiting to be sung.
But the laughing was over quickly, and Melody’s face once again turned stoic at the mention of her father, his new wife, and their coming child. Ariel sighed, already missing the girl she had just gotten a glimpse of in Melody’s eyes. Why couldn’t they be friends? Melody was certainly too old for Ariel to consider her a daughter, they were only two years, maybe three depending on the month, apart. But Ariel knew that they could be friends. Would be friends, if she had anything to say about it. Who knew? Maybe one day they’d even be close enough for Ariel to call her sister.
But that wasn’t now, as made perfectly evident by Melody’s reaction to Ariel grabbing her hands. Ariel’s brow creased as she watched Melody consider her offer. She was sure that Melody had plenty to do, and that spending the day cavorting around with Ariel was the last thing on her list of ways to spend the afternoon, but Ariel was hopeful. When Melody finally admitted to not having plans, Ariel took that and ran. Well, she didn’t actually run, but she didn’t think twice before giving a tiny laugh of excitement, nodding vigorously.
”Perfect! I know that you have lessons, but I’ll tell Grim that you can’t possibly be bothered with anything educational today.”
”Don’t worry,” she winked. “He owes me one, anyway. I helped him out of an awkward encounter with the baker lady, you know, the one who keeps making eyes at him when she delivers bread in the morning? But I was thinking of maybe taking the carriage for a spin, or maybe visiting the Market, or…”
Her eyes lit up with a sudden idea. She knew what kind of adventure would turn Melody’s head. There was a certain place that held a deep significance for both of the young women. It bound them together more thoroughly than any blood tie could, because it had to do with their souls. They both belonged to the sea, and Ariel knew that anything having to do with their beloved ocean would strike a chord in Melody’s heart.
”I’ve been meaning to find some more items for my collection lately.” She was speaking of her new collection, an array of items that reminded her of where she grew up. “I’ve combed the shore, and I think I’ve picked up every seashell on the shores of Denmark. But I haven’t looked underwater, yet… Would you like to join me for a swim?”
Sometimes, Melody likes to convince herself that she was better off alone. Today it had been in the bath, when she had been surrounding by the warm water, wishing that she could close her eyes and melt into it. Wishing that she could evaporate with the water, but then the water grew cold and she was back to being herself again. But all the while thoughts had been swirling in her head about how much simpler life would be if she removed herself from the equation. Not like permanent removal, more removal to somewhere far away, and remote.
Truth be told she had dwell a lot about Ariel and Eric too, but she wasn't the sort to try things again, if something had gone badly the first time there was no use in a second attempt -- or a third -- or anything because it was utterly useless . . . wasn't it? So, Melody went on thinking in this manner that when the ginger girl looked at her with such hopeful eyes a surge of pain ran through her system.
She couldn't. She wouldn't. She depend, and looked up to Ariel for so long, only to be disappointed. Well, this time it wasn't Melody's turn to be disappointed. She was absolutely sick and tired of being mistreated, and forgotten. She pursed, her lips, eyeing the princess skeptically. Crossing her arms she said," Grim won't like that in the slightest; torturing me is his absolute favorite hobby, and you'll be taking it away from him. Like telling a child it's Christmas when it's not."
A sigh slipped through her lips, it wasn't a good enough reason, she knew that, but she hoped that Ariel might rethink it anyway.
It wasn't that she didn't like the girl -- she did -- even considered her family, but trying to befriend the girl after so many years caused so much stress and anxious that bile rose to the black haired woman's throat, leaving a bad taste in her mouth. She grimaced at the image of Grim with a woman, eyes widened as she heard all of Ariel's ideas. Quite optimistic about the day, wasn't she? Clearing her throat Melody stuttered," L-let's try and be realistic about the time, I would still like to get to sleep tonight."
Her breath rose from her throat in a gasp as her mouth hung agape. The promising ocean blue waves in her mind, and she waved back. Oh, how lovely it would feel to be enveloped in something so big and abstract, it was like you were apart of nothing and everything all at once. Melody nodded numbly, she could already feel the waves pulsating underneath her fingertips and the sweet song of the ocean calling to her in a tongue only she could hear.
-- And it took her a moment but she realized that Ariel was awfully clever for thinking up such an idea, for she knew it would win her own heart. She didn't say so though, and instead put back on the mask of somberness and nodded again.
"Yes, I think that will do just fine."
