Please explain if I understand correctly. If the world were a bucket of water and I wanted the water to be blue instead of red, (not that blue is better than red), every day I would drip blue. Blue being kindness, compassion, mercy, understanding, and red being violence, hate, cruelty, etc. etc. so eventually if most people dripped blue instead of red the bucket would one day be blue. No matter how many people drip red, just drip blue as much as humanly possible. Is this "practice" in Buddhism?
It is and a very apt analogy. However, there would be a long period of time when the bucket would be purple.

There’s a wonderful sense of well-being that begins to circulate . . . up and down your spine. And you feel something that makes you almost want to smile. So what’s it like to be me? Ask yourself, ‘What’s it like to be me?’ The only way we’ll ever know what it’s like to be you is if you work your best at being you as often as you can, and keep reminding yourself that’s where home is.
Bill Murray, when asked what it is like to be him.

Where is the line between pride and hubris?
Pride: I think that song is one of my best. I am very pleased with it.
Hubris: That song is the best song ever. Goddamn I rock man!

I decided to rewrite this poem in a different way, let me know what you think!
The trees
Cold, and bare as they sway innocently in the wind.
Creaking and brushing through the skies,
like pillars of peace.
The noises they make only intensify silence.
The silence that rests between them,
and saturates the air.
A sea of red, orange, and brown fills the forest floor,
forming a delicate surface
for the animals.
And the aroma of pastries prepared nearby
assures me
that I’m not alone.

If you look at a diamond in the light each face reflects a different color. Yet the diamond remains clear. All your Gods are reflected colors. All your Gods are the same clear light.
