not everyone can say they’ve been to the big apple, but 𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆, a 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒚 year-old 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 has lived in 𝒃𝒆𝒅-𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒚, 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒍𝒚𝒏 for 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔. this is the city of dreams and 𝒔𝒉𝒆 knows it, because they came to nyc to be a 𝒑𝒐𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓. living in the city means they meet all kinds of people, but everyone always seems to think they look like 𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆. they even got away with free cab fare once because of it!

tw: domestic abuse, death, depression, anxiety

evelyn ‘evie’ eldridge was the youngest of three daughters born to a single mother in manchester, england.

she was incredibly bright but headstrong, loud and easily distracted in school.

tw: her oldest sister was murdered by her male partner when evie was sixteen. evie battled with depression and anxiety in her wake but it drove her to put her head down for her gcses and she finished school topping her a levels. she was desperate to fight against domestic abuse.

she studied sociology in london and went on to complete a phd in intimate partner violence, where she began a podcast about ivp at her university.

the podcast eventually hit the big-time and after publishing two books, she struck a deal with sp*tify. the podcast has shaped and shifted since its early days and now focuses on gender equality as whole.

ever restless, she moved to nyc in 2017 to continue her fight for the cause.

she has called bed-stuy home since then and has found her community east of the hudson river.

massive feminist (if you hadn’t already gathered).

evie is bisexual but homoromantic leaning, though she’s currently not looking for a long-term relationship.

she’s still fiery but she’s learnt to harness her anger and channel it into passionate conversations with her guests.

loves: hoop earrings, female vocalists, playing the drums, 70s style interior decor, colour, deep conversations, all of her plant babies, her two cats, prosecco and women.
