Early plans for the fangame!

Firstly, know that it won't be available on iOS because Apple is just so much more difficult for app developing. I'd personally prefer to code for windows but I should be able to do it on android as well. On that note, for all questions like this one, I want your input. On tumblr, I'm limited to one poll per post and honestly, I only want those actually interested in playing to have input. Therefore, I'm toying with the idea of making a discord for organisation, volunteering, progress reports, et cetera.

The game will be a visual novel. There will be no gacha, because gacha is really a way to make money and the game will be free to play. It won't feature released routes for obvious reasons. I hope to get enough writers on board we can rewrite the routes. It will feature OC routes (but I can't write those because I don't feel I have enough knowledge of OCs that aren't my own). If you want your OC to be added to the game, feel free to contact me here or on the discord if I end up making one The game also won't feature battles, rankings, or in-game purchases.

I'm still thinking about the closet feature. What I definitely want in the game is a basic character selection like eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, hopefully a few basic hairstyles and pronouns (she/her, he/him, they/them, if you want more added, lmk). I'm still thinking about clothes beyond the basic dress or shirt & trousers. I feel like ikemen vampire had very little character customisation and you were essentially playing as Mitsuki doing a bad cosplay of yourself. But if you want to keep her, I'd oblige.

The system of the routes will be similar to the game. You read a story, and you collect romantic/dramatic points. I am, however, playing with the idea of making bad endings as well (for the angst). Once you've completed a story, you'll receive a gift from the character depending on the ending, like "Isaac's apple" or "Comte's hourglass" or "Vlad's eternal rose". If the people want outfits, you may receive an outfit. Probably two versions, one with boobs and skirt and one without boobs and pants (yes I'm aware girls wear pants too but that's a bit much effort for a piece of clothing. So we're using the historical setting as an explanation). If I can recruit enough artists, there will be cards. If not, I can draw them myself, but that will take time away from the coding.

If you want to write event-like stories, that'd be great. I don't plan on making seasonal events, but I may lock them behind playing x amount of chapters.

I don't know if there'll be in-game smut (i know, boo) but I don't know if I'm making myself legally responsible or something there. If I'm absolutely sure it's okay, there will be an option to skip the smut for people who don't want to read about it or are minors.

Here's questions that are still open which I want to poll about in discord or here later.

Do you want to keep Mitsuki or do you want a customizable avatar?

Should the player character/mitsuki appear on screen when she's saying something?

Do you want some kind of AP/ticket system? (just so you don't devour everything in one day)

Should I just call it Ikemen Vampire - Temptation in the Dark fangame or do you want another name?

Should there be character-character or character-OC ships in routes where these characters aren't the ones being romanced?

May I change the theme to be more goth and vampirey? The current theme is very Comte and sun.

May the writers that hopefully volunteer and I make the vampires more vampirey? Like them being nocturnal and stuff.

May I, if others and I want to put in the effort, redesign the characters to be more historically accurate? Their clothes just hurt my heart sometimes.

May I make Jean female in the game? It just hurts that she's suddenly a man in the games.

May I please, please, make Arthur and Theo's hands a normal size?

May I make Vincent ginger and one-eared?

I'm so sorry for the length of this, but video game planning is hard. In advance, I want you to know that this'll be my first visual novel. I code 2d pixel games most of the time. I hope you'll be interested in playing/supporting later. I also want you to know that no one is making money on this project. Beethoven used these reverse trumpets to hear. They're called 'Höhrrohr'. I can totally imagine Mozart hiding them just to piss him off. Or Time because *shiny*.

Now picture both Time and Beethoven pulling on it and Beethoven loudly cursing him out. That just showed up in my head after reading this.

Actually they briefly met when Beethoven was young, Mozart was impressed but he was distracted by his wife being Sick sick and then Beethovens mom got Sick Sick so they never spoke

Also a fun fact (not fun) Beethoven HATED his late deafness, tried to hide his diagnosis as long as he could, he never learned any variation of sign language and only used written communication, actually he contemplated suicide because of it "A Silence Haunts Me" is an adaptation based off the letter he never sent to his brothers. Fun stuff 👍

And to cheer up the post imagine Mozart hates him enough to learn sign language and Beethoven is just "bitch wtf are you doing? What is that?"

I know very minimal about Beethoven and I low key just didn't feel like doing any research before that post ngl. It was just a really funny thought to me.

And I knew he became deaf later in life so I figured him knowing sign language was very, very slim. But it's so hilarious to think that Mozart would learn it just so that he can insult someone.

To me that man learned French so that he can choose not to speak it and not just because he doesn't know it.

However, someone said that Beethoven would just talk really loud... And my head canon that Mozart's hearing enhances fter becoming a vampire makes it funnier because he keeps yelling back telling him to shut up.

You're one of the reasons I actually picked up art and picked writing back up. I have to admit, I lost motivation around 2024 because people weren't really interacting with content anymore

I'm gonna be a huge bitch with an ego for a moment. I might piss some of you off but idc. I'm giving you my ikevamp story

2019 I went through a lot. My college closed. My bf broke up with me and sent me to the mental ward. But I worked in London for a few months. Visited Italy.

I came back in 2020, and right before lockdown hit I found ikevamp. How? I literally typed 'Shakespeare' into the Google play search bar. Bc I love Shakespeare and I was on a kick after going to The Globe and being in London.

Ikevamp popped up and I was like "oh?" So I downloaded it and was immediately hooked. It was the first mobile otome I played and I wasn't sure how it worked. I didn't realize I had to wait for things to be released and I thought I had to read certain things to unlock other routes.

So I started with Leonardo. Vincent came out as soon as I started playing so he was next. Then I read Arthur. Mozart. Isaac was released. Napoleon. Theo was released and from then on read the order they were released in.

I had dusted off my old dying Tumblr and finally felt like this was a fandom I could join. The summer of 2020 the game was at its peak on Tumblr. I had so many friends. So many people were writing and drawing and talking to each other and it was beautiful. We would bounce ideas off of each other and we would make the weirdest headcanons and aus and everyone interacted. People were reblogging to talk rather than heading to the comments.

I had a desk job at the time so I was at my desk writing writing writing. That's all I did really. I wrote so much for this fandom. I focused on Will and Charles since they were my favorites and no one was writing them so parts of the fandom flocked to me. I would write everyone. Not just my favorites. I got popular. My headcanons got so popular that people didn't realize they weren't canon. The sexy scenes in the game sucked and I started working my own and that ended up being what I was good at.

I made my OC Poe and encouraged everyone to make an OC too and the fandom did. People had their OCS interacting with each other and how they got to the mansion and everything.

There were so many plot holes in the game we never got answers to and so I would come up with ideas and reasons as to why things went a certain way.

When the fandom started dying in 2023 I wasn't going to stop. I didn't want to give up on the fandom. I still wanted to have fun. I wanted to keep writing and interacting with everyone. I wanted to talk to people. That's how ideas and fun headcanons start. But no one was willing.

Last year got even worse. So many people left ikevamp for Ikepri...Genshin..ikevil..and now LADs. I can't really blame them...cybird is falling a little behind in terms of what people want out of otome.

This is where my ego comes in..which I never have one..but this fandom...Lowkey feels like my kid. Like I have some kind of responsibility in it. So many people came to me to explain things or if there's a certain order to read things in. So many people turned to my blog for content and updates and explanations to things. Asking how the door and all the time travel works.

I feel as if I have done so much for this fandom, for this game. I always knew the fandom was going to die eventually. It happens. It has always been a small fandom. I have kept my eyes on the rankings all the time. Even at its peak it was around 10,000 players and for being a global server...that's honestly not a lot.

I'm not saying I am owed anything. I chose to run this blog and dedicate so much of my time to the game. But since the announcement I have seen so many URLs that I have never seen talking about the game, in my notifications, in my comments. I have ALWAYS looked at all of my notifications. Even at the peak when I was getting upwards to 1k notes a day. I've just been wondering where you've been this whole time? You're saying you're upset about the game and now you want to interact with the fandom? What about when it started declining in 2023? Not when writers and artists were struggling to post anything due to lack of engagement?

I have stopped posting so much due to lack of engagement. Like I said. I have dedicated a LOT of time into this blog and the things I write. If I am not going to get feedback or be able to talk with the fandom then the thoughts are gonna stay in my head rather than wasting time with writing.

I am not saying the downfall of the game is bc of the lack of engagement in the fandom. Not at all. But the fandom helps keep the game alive and if we want it to feel like the game never ended then we need to interact with each other.

Even if cybird treated us like garbage until the very end I made my two best friends @lulu-the-smol-floof and @marinelezard from this game and I will forever be thankful for that.

Anyway. That's my ikevamp story and how I got here. What's going to happen next I have no clue. I want to keep posting but I feel like I'm just talking into the void and I don't see much of a point.

To the players who are long gone, to the players who hate me, to the players who have just started playing, and to the people who have been here from the start, I've enjoyed all our time together and I'm sad that it's come to this. I hope we can still have fun and talk about the game
