Emma still had trouble accepting she had friends& family who loved and cared for her. She was soused to doing everything on her own. It’s all she ever knew.

                                    regina wasn’t going to bring up the past -- not now, at least. so much was done ( mostly by zelena ) to make the pair hate one another so like they did. the wicked witch has committed unspeakable acts, but so has regina, and eventually she was forgiven for those acts by all of the people she currently had in her life. and even if regina wasn’t ready to forgive her sister for a lot of the things she had done, she could at least look past those things for now and focus on what was most important ; and that was family.                                                       a gentle smile tugged at the corners of the mayor’s lips as zelena told her that she loved her --- the redhead has deceived her many times before, but this time --- this time regina could tell that she truly meant what she was saying. and for a moment, she wasn’t feeling only the agony of her loss inside of her chest, but love.        “i love you too. even if you are quite possibly the biggest pain i’ve ever had in my ass,”       she teased --- although there was also truth in her words. but judging by the smirk across regina’s lips, she wasn’t holding any grudges,       “i gotta give you props though, sis, you were quite the worthy competitor.”                                                nodding her head in agreement, she stood from the booth and grasped the handle of the carrier and gently lifted baby robin from the table,         “are we driving or shall we just magic ourselves home?”     she asked, unsure if zelena wanted to take the drive or not. it didn’t matter to regina.

                         after hearing zelena’s words, regina wasted no time in shaking her head in protest, looking in the redhead’s direction,         “it wasn’t you that i didn’t trust. i know you would never do anything to purposefully put your daughter in danger. i just wanted to make sure she was in a safe place before we confronted hades —- he was the one that i didn’t trust, and for good reason,”      releasing a sigh, she felt awful for her sister. she knew how hard everything has been for her ; for the both of them,          “i’m sorry, zelena. i never meant to ruin your happiness. just like i know it wasn’t your intention to ruin mine. and like i said, i don’t blame you,”         she said, reaching over and placing a hand over zelena’s for an added reassurance.                                    feeling her sister’s lips against her cheek after the hug she was given, it brought a gentle smile to regina’s lips for a brief moment as she took in the witch’s words,          “we may have lost a lot —- but we’ve gained a lot too. you have a daughter and…. i have a sister,” her smile widened with her last sentence, more tears glossing over her eyes as she looked into zelena’s features,           “and i’m gonna be here for you too from now on.”

         She would’ve loved to just smile and agree. Things were more difficult than they appeared, and just like with a second person stuck inside her body, it was hard to shake the former dislike for her sister. It had been festering for decades, and was only barely overshadowed by the love of a little girl for her sister. Things had changed, and yet it would take a while until those changes could take root. “You’ve always had a sister, and yet we chose to fight each other.” There were things that could not be forgiven. Not now, and not in ten year’s time. They had to learn how to live with them, accept them, overcome them together. Perhaps then they could be the sisters they had been meant to be. 

        “I love you, and I mean it.” Zelena kept her voice low. Public displays of affection and declarations of her love were something she wasn’t comfortable parading around here. The only reason she spent so much time at Granny’s was because she couldn’t stand being alone at the moment. “We should go home. I’m still expecting people to come at me with pitchforks as soon as I make a wrong movement. Besides, the little one should sleep in a real bed.”

Sometimes pain becomes such a huge part of your life that you expect it to always be there, because you cant remember a time in you life when it wasnt. But then one day you feel something else. Something that feels wrong only because its so unfamiliar and in that moment you realize you’re happy.

                                            “aria,”      regina said with a nod of her head as the young woman corrected her. there was something about this girl already that made the evil queen somewhat hopeful --- and it was a foreign feeling to her. she wasn’t sure how she felt about it, exactly. how was aria still able to laugh, even so softly, after enduring such pain she more than likely didn’t deserve?                                                             hearing her last sentence, regina’s brows furrowed and she came to a slow stop at a red light, long enough to look over at the younger woman with a stern look on her features,      “it doesn’t matter what you’re used to, aria. just because you’re used to be treated wrongfully doesn’t make it right, and it doesn’t give anyone else the right to lay another finger on you, do you understand me?”       as the light turned green, she looked back at the road and continued,       “your former foster parents had better be lucky i don’t know where they live ---- they’d get a very big surprise if i were to show up. and not the good kind,” her voice was low and icy --- and aria wasn’t aware just how truthful she was being.

                                    it had been years since her banishment from storybrooke — from the only family she had left — and after countless attempts to try and return, nothing worked. not even the evil queen was powerful enough to make her way back ; not in this land without magic. she found herself growing lonelier and lonelier as time passed, but no matter how many months that went by, the pain never seemed to dull. not even a little bit. so after months of preparation, regina decided to occupy her time and take care of someone who needed something more stable in their life. granted, the queen knew she wasn’t anywhere near stability herself – in fact, she felt as though each piece of her was slowly shattering and soon there would be nothing left. however, she couldn’t turn away from this beautiful young woman who was clearly being abused ; regina tried not to glance too long at the marks that were showing through the cover up.                                                “not too far. twenty minutes, give or take, depending on the traffic,”     regina answered aria’s question simply, stealing yet another glance at the bruises before turning away and looking back at the road,        “so, ms. torres — i’ve never done this sort of thing before. i mean…. i’ve been a parent before just not…. like this. so forgive me if i seem a bit cold at first. but no matter how cold i may seem — i can guarantee you that you won’t leave my care with any added….. injuries…”

             i have a few drafts that i need to start working on, but i gotta go to work soon, so i don’t think i’ll finish all of them before i have to leave. i don’t think i’ll be on after work tonight, because i have to work a double tomorrow. meh.
