Tips for dealing with Gender Dysphoria/Dysmorphia without transitioning :

1.) Read feminist literature. Read the scum manifesto, read Beauty and Misogyny, read Irreversible Damage.

2.) Find other women in your field of interest, especially if your interests are typically masculine.

3.) Read about gender nonconforming/ butch women in history. Watch shows with GNC or/and strong women in them. Surround yourself with content that portrays women as multidimensional, human and fleshed out.

4.) If you need reduction surgery to feel comfortable in your body, do it after extensive therapy. Find a competent surgeon. Don't rush into it. Breast reduction can be a quality of life improvement, but it has risks associated with it.

5.) Start using the words that make you uncomfortable. Call yourself a woman. Call yourself a girl. Use she/her. Stop using neutral words for your female body.

6.) Follow detransitioners/ desisters on social media.

7.) Dress in a way that makes you most comfortable. If that means wearing men's clothes, then own it!

8.) Realize that people arent going to see you exactly how you see yourself, and that's ok.

9.) Stop using misogynistic language for yourself and for other women.

Some people don't know how bad things have become. This is a rape shelter in Vancouver. First they got sued because they only have women volunteers on their phones.

Some guy really wanted to hear all the rape stories and they said no.

Then the rape shelter was vandalized. Talk about punching down! The ultimate abuse was they had funding stripped from them. Why? Because they dared be a shelter for women. And that’s not allowed any more. Not even for rape victims.

When they say who can any of this hurt? It can hurt those women. It can hurt those women a lot. The women who are traumatized and frightened and battered.

This shelter fought back and now depends on private donations. Other shelters have given in.

Imagine being a rape victim and just asking for one space where it can be all women. Even just one room. And being told you must include men or you can’t get help.

At the heart of it, rape is a crime of forced inclusion. You weren’t allowed to say no. Part of healing is being given back your power and that includes the ability to say no.

If a rape victim wants a healing space that only has redheads born on a Tuesday in it, I’d try to find her such a space. She has been traumatized. She is terrified. We would all do anything to help her be less frightened. At least most of us would.

To be clear, I can’t be sure of the motive of any particular person who demanded to be a volunteer at any particular time, but there are men who love to hear women’s rape stories and some women don’t like telling their stories to men.

And don’t think these are rare situations. There are many shelters across the world that have been facing the same pressures. It’s a huge story. When JK Rowling funded a shelter just for women she was swarmed by the fly lords! (See my pinned thread for that reference).

The constant barrage of propaganda pieces about low birth rates are the canary in the coal mine. This will only get worse. If you aren't planning to have children, you need to AT LEAST know your options regarding sterilisation.

The world will not transform into dystopian Handmaid's Tale type scenes overnight. But attitudes towards women are changing once more. The pendulum is swinging. Our rights, our autonomy, our self-determination. These have all come under question before and can and WILL again.

If financial incentives and social pressure don't result in more births, if women aren't willingly biting the bait...what do you think is the next step?

i think critiquing the beauty industry is slowly growing. although makeup and shaving are still widely accepted, it seems like plastic/cosmetic surgery is starting to gain more criticism.

i feel like (or hope) this could be a gateway (for lack of a better word) to radical feminism for many women.

It's amazing how ya'll will say the most blatant shit like "Pedophilia is queer" and not think that that is pedophilic. You will read that and somehow reach to the conclusion you made.

Being sexually abused is NOT a queer experience, and for anyone to say ~their journey~ lead them to that take, and it's ~their choice~ is in support of someone who is sympathizing with pedophiles. Just because someone is abused and has internalized their predators' beliefs doesn't mean they are exempt from further hurting other victims and normalizing pedophilia.

And anon, you should take a bullet too for supporting pedophile rhetoric.
