MEET THE TALENTED DEVELOPER BEHIND OUR NEW WEBSITE
Tumblr media
We couldn’t have launched this new website without his tireless dedication in making everything exactly how we envisioned it. Here’s a bit about the man who helped make it all happen (in his words)! Hi, my name is Russ and I run FS Creative–a Calgary-based shop that specializes in the design, development and strategy of websites. I recognized early on in my career that for many people their website can be intimidating, time intensive, obnoxious, paralyzing, or all of the above. I also recognized that many clients were coming to me with stories of hiring groups to help them out, only to have those groups become difficult to work with or hard to communicate with once the project completed.
I created FS Creative with the goal of alleviating people's anxiety around their website and offer them a line of support not only during the initial build, but also remain a phone call or email away for questions or modifications as their business grows (which it will). Thank you Russ and FS Creative for your incredible work!
GREEN GEMS FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY & BEYOND

OTHER THINGS WE LOVE: ELLINOR’S TOP PICKS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
Tumblr media
For our sweet-tooth KAKES & KANVAS is the perfect to-go-to!
Kalia is a delightful fellow local female entrepreneur that continues to spread delicious sweetness in form of cakes, cupcakes, chocolate bites, around Calgary. We've crossed paths at networking events, weddings and birthday celebrations and fallen in love with her baked goods and treats. Kalia's chocolate bombs were part of the recent 'bling'-care package giveaway we held on Instagram, and we're hooked! Because who can say no to a marshmallow chocolate bomb painted in gold, for their coffee!?
Tumblr media
Looking for a meaningful gift for someone you love? Why not hire a professional lifestyle (and wedding) photographer to capture you and your person, your loved ones, your family, pets, on photo? Photographs are a beautiful gift that captures your love and energy, and something you can enjoy looking at forever, not just a moment, day or week. Book a photography session with the talented photographer and wonderful human being that is Christy D Swanberg as a unique gift alternative to jewellery, chocolates and flowers - although, we say: why not go for them all?! The photography sessions with Christy can be safely executed outdoors, on a distance.
Tumblr media
Whether you celebrate Valentine's Day -or 'Friendship Day' as it is called in Finland and Scandinavia, where Ellinor is from- flowers are always a good idea, no matter the day, or the occasion. Through our involvement in the wedding industry community in Calgary we've had the great fortune to work alongside Creative Edge flowers on several occasions. We're always impressed with their quality, creativity and service. If you sneak in your flower order now you can secure some gorgeous blooms to brighten your own, or someone else's day and week, ahead of Valentine's Day. Nothing adds warmth and some sunshine to a room like a beautiful bouquet of flowers, especially in the midst of this wintery cold-spell we're currently in!
Tumblr media
And when you've had all your chocolates and special occasion meals that you desire, but wanting to feel better, stronger and healthier in your body, check out Tia of LiveFreeFitness for personal strength and fitness training and nutrition plans. We've been loving the online morning workouts from home, in place of in-person training, since June, and continuing to show up to them on Google Meet, until it's safe to return to the private fitness studio at the gym Tia trains her clients out of: Kings Fitness. (Ellinor's notes: I work out to help offset my immense love for good food and wine, but also to have something of a routine in the fluid work-schedule that is entrepreneurship, and blur of a timeline that is 2020/2021).
STAY TUNED...
Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for some exciting announcements in regards to the launch of our brand new website! We can't wait to share what we've been working on - so much so, that to celebrate the official launch we will be giving away something extra special to one lucky winner. But you'll have to wait just a bit longer (such a tease)! Be sure to follow EVStenroos on our social channels so you don't miss out on this exciting opportunity coming soon.

EVStenroos voted Best Wedding Jewellery!
From the archive: January 19th, 2021
Tumblr media
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2021
Tumblr media
What a year to be leaving behind! This past year has been a challenging one for everyone - us included. Thank you again to everyone who so patiently waited for delayed orders and shipments that ran behind due to circumstances beyond our control, and 2020!
But just because it’s a new year, doesn’t mean that the challenges we’ve faced have been left behind; theoretically, logistically and mentally. If you’re struggling to feel inspired, know that you’re not alone. Remember to be patient with yourself and unwind when you need to, we've certainly taken some much needed time to rest and recharge this January, so far.
Hold onto memories and things that inspire you, and daydream about days ahead when we can celebrate and gather. With time, we can turn this year around!
Tumblr media
EVSTENROOS WINS AVENUE MAGAZINE’S ‘BEST WEDDING JEWELLERY’
We are beyond thrilled to announce that EVStenroos has been voted ‘Best Wedding Jewellery’ in Avenue’s ballot on ‘Best Wedding Services in Calgary’! A huge thank you goes out to everyone who took time out to vote and made this happen, and for your undying support over the years.
We would also like to send a big congratulations to our fellow nominees and winners for your incredible work in the Calgary wedding industry; knowing the past year has been challenging and devastating for so many. We look forward to big celebrations of love, commitment and family. Together we will soon celebrate again!
WORK WE LOVE: DESIGNING AN ALL-IN-ONE ENGAGEMENT RING + ELLINOR’S TIPS FOR RING PLANNING
If you’re not in the business of jewellery design, you may be surprised to learn just how many variations of an engagement ring there can be. And for one of EVStenroos latest custom designs, this meant combining the engagement ring and wedding band into one ring, rather than separating the two as you may envision for a typical ring. But as Ellinor explains, there was a reason behind this design choice.
“Rather than waiting to 'complete' the ring design, we designed the ring with a visual 'wedding band element', but it was introduced into the ring design from the beginning. And when you are creating a wider band it is important to know what physical space you have on the finger to comfortably work with, so that an additional wedding ring doesn't make the set too wide".
Tumblr media
The ring was designed with an offset yellow-gold rim on one side to balance out the design and the result is beautifully unique. Another reason for this design choice? The ring shank was maximized widthwise and proportionately fit her ring finger; it was designed and made to be complete from the beginning. But of course, everyone has their own plans and preferences for the future of their ring. Whatever your vision, here are some things to keep in mind when planning an engagement ring and wedding band, according to Ellinor. If you opt for separate rings, consider what each ring will look like on its own:
"A lot of the time when you see commercially-made engagement rings they have that big mounting that sticks out further than the ring shank does, which means that if people want a wedding band that sits flush with it they need to get something that has a cutout in it - which then makes it tricky to wear that wedding band on its own.
And I know that every girl who has recently been proposed to probably thinks they’re always going to wear the engagement ring and the wedding band, but very often when women have kids they take the engagement ring off because they’re worried a tall setting or big stone is going to scratch the baby or something like that. And when you’re doing tasks around the house it certainly keeps the engagement ring more intact, safer and cleaner if you take it off.
So it is nice to have a wedding band that can work on its own. And also a lot of women will just wear the wedding band when they travel and leave the engagement ring at home, in case that is the higher valued piece, which it often is. I like to make sure that the customer has as many options as possible.
Tumblr media
You may want to reconsider joining your engagement ring and wedding band together:
“I don’t necessarily recommend joining bands together. Lots of people ask about joining the engagement ring and wedding band, just because that prevents them spinning, for instance. Let’s say you only did diamonds half way around on the wedding band, if you fix it then the diamonds are always facing upwards. But the problem is that it’s a lot easier to put a skinnier band on your finger, one at a time, rather than one wider band. So as people's fingers and knuckles change, it becomes trickier with a wider ring to accommodate wearing it. Plus it means that if you lose it, you lose both. There is no option of only taking the wedding band when travelling - it’s all or nothing at that point. It also sometimes can become trickier to size them and make them fit comfortably for a longer period of time.”
Tumblr media
Think ahead:
Overall, Ellinor says that the most important thing is to know what you'll want in the coming years.
“I think the important thing for people to think about is whether they’re planning on doing only two rings, or if in the future you perhaps add an anniversary ring to the other side of the engagement ring to balance things out. Is there space on your finger for the 'look' that you are hoping to achieve?” Do what's right for you!
"A lot of people ask if it’s normal that someone just does one ring (rather than a separate engagement ring and wedding band). You can do exactly what you want. There isn’t a rule about it. And lots of cultures and countries have their own take on it, so you can find a tradition to suit your preference if you'd like to justify a ring on each ring finger, just one ring, two or three.”

Wishing you a happy holiday season!
From the archive: December 21st, 2020
Tumblr media
WISHING YOU AND YOUR LOVE ONES A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Tumblr media
As 2020 comes to a close, we would like to send a big THANK YOU to our loyal customers for sticking by EVStenroos during these challenging times. During the most crucial time -right before the holidays- several of our major suppliers experienced shut downs due to positive cases for COVID-19, which in turn affected orders on our end. For those of you whose orders this has impacted, thank you for being so gracious and understanding in these circumstances.
THERE ARE A FEW OF HER FAVOURITE THINGS...ELLINOR’S FESTIVE PICKS FOR A COZY HOLIDAY
Tumblr media
Over the holiday break, we will be cozying up with one of our latest favourites: Corporate - an easygoing, funny and lighthearted series found on Crave. Much like many of the other 'office culture' shows that we love, there's plenty of satire and lots of the 'mundane, yet accurate nuance' of office work highlighted in the 3 seasons currently available. Easy laughs, low commitment if you're tired, and some quirky plots to keep you coming back for more!
On extra challenging days as an entrepreneur, some of the office minutia is even painted in an appealing light!
Tumblr media
Shopping for the holidays proved to be extra interesting this year because I have a common-law partner to shop for. Normally, I hand out leftover jewellery to my closest friends and family as my energy is rather sparse this time of year due to being generally over-worked.
In search of a gift for my partner, David, and with cufflinks out of the running this year (working from home, anyone?), I found ESPY to be a great gift resource for the man in your life.
I won't spoil what I picked up for him - because he'll read this - but I suggest you check out the Inglewood boutique for perfectly stylish gifts for the person who has just about anything they need.
Tumblr media
Because I work up until mid-afternoon on Christmas Eve, and quite often have found myself commencing both Christmas gift shopping as well as grocery shopping at 3pm on Christmas Eve, we decided to eliminate at least one of those stresses this year.
We chose Harling Food Co. to provide us with an easy to prepare/pre-made Christmas Eve meal, as well as a holiday brunch for the following day, and I can't tell you how relieved I feel knowing we will eat something delicious without the stress of the 'last minute' crowd on Christmas Eve.
Tumblr media
We know the Holiday Season looks a lot different this year, but that won't prevent us from celebrating and dressing up.
Growing up, Christmas was a very special time that you dressed up for - even when just gathering for dinner with the family at home. And although we'll be celebrating Christmas in just our two person household circle this year, I still insist on taking the time to celebrate Christmas with great food, togetherness and warmth (albeit tired).
You can count on me to apply a bright red lipstick for Christmas Eve, Dinner on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve - and I can't tell you how much I love that my wonderful friend, Trena Laine, has created the perfect lipstick for this occasion. Check out her website for online sales for the quickest way to add that perfect holiday cheer to your lips and face, all the while catching that 'support local/feel good' feeling!
Tumblr media
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Last, but not least: a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our new and existing clients for supporting us through what has been the craziest year yet!cWithout you trusting us with your special occasion jewellery, your heirloom pieces, redesigns and unique gifts, we wouldn't be here. We love what we do, and we think it shows.
From every supplier in the chain that makes the pieces we put our name and stamp on, THANK YOU for trusting us and for allowing us to be part of telling your story.
We can't wait to create more beautiful pieces for you in the new year, that tell your life story - or the special moments in it - perfectly... because after all, life and love is a beautiful thing to celebrate.
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Ellinor

WORK WE LOVECREATING A FAMILY HEIRLOOM FROM SCRATCH
After wearing EVStenroos for over 13 years, Roberta knew that she could count on Ellinor to bring her idea to life when it came time to commemorate a series of life changing events. Those life changing events? A milestone birthday and being blessed with two children, all the while working internationally out of the middle east. To commemorate, Roberta’s husband gifted Roberta with a custom piece of jewellery that she could create on her own. So, she decided to create something she had always wanted.
“I finally had the justification to make a beautiful family piece,” says Roberta.
While she initially envisioned a variation of Ellinor’s birds nest ring, after discussions with Ellinor, Roberta decided on a pendant to create a piece unlike anything else she already owned. Once the pendant was decided, the two worked together via email - with Roberta being in the Middle East - and Ellinor began sending a series of sketches to start the process.
Tumblr media
“Her initial drawings were pretty, but quite conventional. I was looking for something more unique and BOLD. Being a true artist, Ellinor incorporated my email comments and came back with more concepts. With the time change, she would draw and I would review / comment about changes 10 hours later.”
After a couple of weeks of brainstorming and vetting sketches, one detail in particular captured Roberta’s heart.
“The pendant’s yellow gold shape with a rose gold centre looked like a crescent moon. I was thrilled that the piece could incorporate a subtle nod to the Middle East (where my children are born). I also loved the floating nature of the stones in the piece.”
One of the key components in creating the future heirloom was the inclusion of her family’s birthstones.
Tumblr media
“Given my love of colour we chose a pink Tourmaline (October), Aquamarine (March), Tanzanite (December), and yellow Topaz (November). Ellinor started sourcing the stones. We ended up custom cutting the trillion yellow Topaz in Germany. Ellinor’s attention to detail is one of the reasons I work with her. Our deadline for pendant completion was almost upon us, but she was unhappy with the size and saturation of our pink Tourmaline choice. Hence, she pulled out all the stops and swapped stones before delivery.”
The end result? A rich and bold pendant with a story to tell for generations.
“When Ellinor delivered the pendant the beauty took my breath away. It is one of my favourite EVS pieces; bold, unique, and beautiful.”

SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESS THROUGH & THROUGH
Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Mariya Podeyko, owner and operator of AM CLEANING, travelled across 27 countries before settling in Ottawa, Canada — where she eventually met her soon-to-be-husband and future business partner, Andriy.
“I moved to Ottawa in 2013 from Ukraine to attend university, where I studied international development and environmental studies. Even though Andriy and I attended the same school, and only lived a few blocks away from each other, we didn’t meet until after graduation.”
After dating for a year, Mariya and Andriy decided to relocate to Calgary, Alberta, and shortly after, in September 2018, the couple launched AM CLEANING.
“The name conveys a few different meanings. We work early in the morning and finish by the afternoon, but it is also representative of my and Andriy’s first names — he is my A, and I am his M, and together, we are one another's home. A home is more than just a house or a structure. It’s about the way you feel when you are there. After travelling through and finding comfort, or lack of, in so many places around the world, I wanted to be able to help people feel that beautiful sense of nest."
Unlike large cleaning companies, AM CLEANING’s small but mighty team takes a holistic approach, tailored specifically to each client's unique needs and lifestyle.
Tumblr media
Why did you decide to take a natural approach to cleaning?
I had so many different jobs as an immigrant — I’ve worked in many environments, like kitchens and banks, which exposed me to harsh commercial cleaners. These chemicals are poured down drains without any way to filter the water. Even though we can’t see it, they have a detrimental impact on the environment. When I was still living in Ottawa, I came across a picture of Lake Louise, and at first, I couldn’t believe it was real. It was so ungodly beautiful. I was completely captivated by the clear, teal-coloured glacial water. I wanted to see it in person and enjoy, as well as preserve, the purity that nature offers us. Shortly after, I made the switch to all-natural, low toxic living. It started with personal care and then cleaning products.
When Andriy and I moved to Alberta, I was so excited to be able to visit Lake Louise. It was during that trip that I thought "if I decide to open a cleaning company — an industry with a notorious carbon footprint — it has to be dedicated to natural cleaning". Rather than using harsh cleaners like bleach, CLR, and Vim, AM CLEANING utilizes steamers, scrub brushes, and other tools like drills to get rid of grease and dirt.

When did you meet Ellinor, and how did you know she was the right person to design your ring?
Being a small business owner, I know how hard it is to be a self-employed human. When Andriy started talking about proposals and the ring, I knew I didn’t want to go to Tiffany’s to pick out a diamond. We live in a world where everything is mass-produced, and I wanted my ring to be more than an object. I wanted it to be made by a human who I know, who lives in my city, who I could meet at my local grocery store. That was really important to me. We found Ellinor through Instagram — her work is beautiful, and she is also European, so we liked her modern European style.
Working with her was such a cool experience. It was so much more than just going to a store and having something boxed up. You get to pick out your stones, decide on the width of the band…it’s a custom approach, which is what I live for. The way Ellinor approached working with us was very similar to how my own business operates. No house is the same. Instead of asking a client for the square footage, I want to know what their lifestyle is like, how they feel in their house, and what areas are used most often. Ellinor asked us similar questions about our lives — how active we were, what are the things that drive us crazy — and then used these answers to create a practical design just how I create practical, personalized cleaning appointments.
Tumblr media

Instead of going the traditional route and choosing a diamond for your ring, you picked a Montana Sapphire — can you explain the significance behind that decision?
When we arrived in Calgary, we went on our first camping trip to Waterton National Park, which is right on the border of Alberta and Montana. It was awesome — we went on one of the most beautiful hikes around Crypt lake. You can also take boat tours over Waterton lake, and at some point during the trip you cross the border and go into Montana. It was during our time in Waterton where we connected with and reaffirmed our love of nature.
We decided we no longer wanted to live a lifestyle that could spoil or impact our environment. We want to be mindful of consumption and resources because everything was so untouched and so pure. Three years later, when Andriy was thinking about the stone for my ring, he knew he didn’t want a diamond but rather a stone with significance. We liked sapphires but hesitated because they are primarily sourced from Sri Lanka, and we have no connection there. Then Ellinor told us sapphires come from other parts of the world like Montana — which symbolized so much for us: the lake we crossed was the colour of a sapphire, exploring nature in Alberta, the first hike we took in our new home. And in a way, this sapphire was locally sourced since it came from North America.
Tumblr media
How did Andriy propose to you?
He proposed to me on August 15th while highjacking my maternity photoshoot in Horseshoe Canyon, Drumheller — our first child is due any day now — which was very convenient for him. Then he took me back to Waterton National Park, and we stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel for three days. Stay Connected: @amcleaning_yyc www.amcleaning.ca

OUR MONTHLY FAVOURITES: CHECK OUT WHAT ELSE WE'VE BEEN LOVING

Nearly 30 years ago, Candace Larsen, a now master framer, began her career in the art and framing business.
"What I find so rewarding about working in this field, is the comprehensive nature of the process. The consideration of design requirements coupled with the practical nature of my materials, and how together it results in a finished piece. The presentation of which is the happy capstone of my craft. Besides handling the more traditional artist materials, Larsen's time working in galleries and completing her BFA in Jewellery/Metalworking gave her the skills she needed to work with less common materials, like stone, ceramics, and mixed media objects.
"We recently had some artwork framed by Candace out of the CK gallery, for our new place and it was an absolutely fantastic interaction," says Ellinor Stenroos.

The Eden is a family owned & operated bistro, located on 9 Avenue in the heart of Inglewood, serving classic comfort dishes in a casual atmosphere.
"The EDEN quickly became one of my regular spots three years ago for great, feel-good food, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's suitable for business meetings, jewellery design consultations, and a happy hour cocktail after a busy week. Even during the pandemic, the EDEN has been a regular comfort treat for us!" — Ellinor Stenroos.
The Eden is celebrating its 3 year anniversary with a new menu, launching this week and you can be sure Ellinor will be there to check it out.

W1A is a British comedy series on Netflix that revolves around the awkward and humorous personalities at the BBC office, following the arrival of Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville), the new Head of Values.
"David and I thoroughly loved and laughed our way through W1A. The satire is spot on and relatable to anyone who’s ever been tangled up in bureaucracy of a work-place," raves Ellinor. "Having lived, studied and worked in the UK, I find the humour not just charmingly dry in a British way, but the office characters' stereotypes are beautifully portrayed while still being wonderfully entertaining. Absolutely brilliant!"

A SPECIAL MEMENTO FOR KAYLA BROWNE
Kayla Browne is an architect living and working in Calgary. She is a Senior Associate at Sturgess Architecture — an architecture firm founded over 4 years ago with numerous national and international accolades and awards under their belt, and founding partner of BOLD Architecture — a young firm focused on residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail architecture. Recently BOLD has formed a unique, collaborative partnership with _SA, where both firms complement one another's strengths and ideas.
A lover of design and art, Browne is a co-founder of the NEAT blog, alongside Suzanne Stewart. She also sits on the steering committee for BEA (Building Equality in Architecture) Calgary; part of a nation-wide grassroots movement, BEA is a ground-up initiative that promotes equality and diversity in city-building professions. Through an intersectional and cross-disciplinary approach, BEA works to generate awareness and dialogue around inclusive practices and addressing barriers; and celebrate the multiplicity of voices, hands, and minds who plan and design our communities.
"For your design to be successful, you need equal representation from the people in your city informing that design, not just a select few."
What is your design philosophy, and would you say that you have a signature style?
We are talking about this right now in the office. We don't have a signature style, and when it comes to design philosophy, our goal is to enhance the human experience through design. In all of our work, we aim to create memories, strong connections to places.
Can you think of a moment when you were in a space that made you feel something or formed a lasting memory or a connection to that space?
That is what we strive to create on every project, it is more than architecture.
When we are trying to solve design problems, we do endless iterations or studies and go through every option from site approach to layout and landscaping strategy and street integration, right down to window detailing, just to name a few. We leave no stone left unturned. Every single project is radically tailored to our client and informed by the environment and the context of the project. When did you decide to pursue a career as an architect, and what are your most notable or favourite projects?
I was really young when I decided. The ring that Ellinor designed for me is actually about that very moment. It was in grade 7 during our design and structure program. We were learning how placing a keystone in an arch creates a self-supporting structure, and the concept completely blew my mind — it was the craziest thing I had ever heard. I wanted to know who gets to do this type of work and discovered it's typically engineers and architects. My grandma, who was an artist and taught me for most of my life, was a big influence for me choosing this direction. In an ideal world, I would be an artist but my grandma pushed me to go into an applied science, which made sense.
I grew up in Edson and the only time I ever encountered proper buildings designed by proper architects was when my family would drive down to Edmonton. There is one specific trip, I'm not sure if it was before or after learning about keystones, which stuck with me. We were going to get our passports, and I was blown away by the government building we had to go in. I couldn’t believe that a building like that was open to the public, a building made just for me. I was completely fascinated, totally enthralled. I thought to myself "I have to make buildings for the people". Later on, we had a design competition at my school to redesign the building and we all all met with the group of architects who were going to be doing the work. I ended up winning. I think this career path was predestined. I've also always had a really strong sense of self, so that might also have something to do with it.
As for projects, I'm still young in my career so I haven’t been able to see a lot of projects designed and built start to finish. My house is one of those projects, I completed it just over a year ago. It's in Inglewood and has a main residence and a laneway suite above the garage. It was a rewarding experience to design every aspect of the development, and then build it — however, funding and budgeting it wasn't great. At _SA, I got to help with the planning of the Green Line. Even though it’s not built yet, it's something that I am proud of, the City is proud of, and the public is proud of. It's going to have a huge impact on the city of Calgary.
Tumblr media
Earlier, you said Ellinor designed a ring for you that represented the moment you decided to become an architect. Can you tell me more about the piece?
The ring was a gift from my husband to commemorate me receiving my architectural license. He gave me a budget, and together, with Ellinor, we created a stacking set of five rings because more is more. They are a combination of yellow and grey gold. The ring I mentioned earlier has rubies and trapezoid diamonds, which is the shape of a keystone in an arch. There are also two plain gold, rounded bands, a gypsy eternity band, and a deep purple colour-changing spinel, which is my favourite colour, in a bezel setting.
How did you meet Ellinor, and what attracted you to her work?
I came across her work online and reached out to her because I loved her style so much — it's bold and adventurous, and I could see through her project descriptions that she approached design the same way I do. Seeing her multiple iterations and renders, I could tell she tests numerous options just like I would when designing a building. She pays attention to the craft and technical side as well as the design side, which is something that architects pride themselves on.
Last question, how do you hope to see Calgary and Alberta grow in terms of architecture and design?
I’d like to see the city grow and change in a way that uses our money, our taxpayer dollars to support more local design talent. I’d also like to see the design talent push the envelope more. People shouldn't be afraid to take a risk or try something new.

EVStenroos Is On The Move
From the archive: September 1, 2020
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not very far, but nonetheless, Ellinor Stenroos is relocating within the city of Calgary to a new design studio, workshop space and home with her partner, David.
If you have an upcoming appointment or pickup, please email [email protected] for more details.
We apologize for any disruptions to your projects. The process of moving during a pandemic has impacted deadlines with a bit over three weeks. We appreciate your patience as we work through this hectic time without compromising the safety of our work spaces and the projects themselves.
WORK WE LOVEA REFRESHING NEW LOOK FOR REESE REYES
Tumblr media
Rizalyn (Reese) Reyes first met Ellinor in real life at a small ‘tweetup’ event where red velvet pancakes were served and laughter was plentiful. And although she didn’t have jewellery on her mind at the time, she followed Ellinor’s work through Facebook and Instagram, as well as engaging with her often on Twitter. It was that sense of familiarity and online friendship—and seeing multiple friends and acquaintances sport their EVStenroos original—that spurred Reese to finally make the call when the time came to update her wedding jewellery.
Twelve years into marriage, Reese’s wedding and engagement rings were starting to show their age; the mass produced 18k white gold rings were rhodium plated and it wore off constantly, requiring re-plating every 18 months. The setting of the smaller stones also began to weaken with time, which caused them to loosen.
She wanted to keep all of her original stones and was also looking for something unique, modern and more true to her style. She didn’t know exactly what she wanted, only what she didn’t. And even with those sparse details, she was confident Ellinor would create something perfectly for her.
Tumblr media
“I reached out to Ellinor less than two weeks before the pandemic caused a lockdown all over the world,” explains Reese. “And although we met for coffee only once and worked back and forth on the design through only email, it was very much a fun, friendly and collaborative experience. Ellinor took all my random ideas and photo inspiration, listened to stories about my everyday life and paid close attention to my style—all of which resulted in rings more beautiful, and more me, than I ever could have imagined. They are absolutely stunning.”
“It was an absolute joy to work with Reese," says Ellinor. "Not only did it feel like a catch-up with a friend every time we emailed or met, but her communication style was also incredibly fun, clear and comfortable to work with. I loved creating this new beautiful 18k yellow gold engagement and wedding ring set for her. Despite it being a classic ring set, meant for everyday wear, it is fun and happy, and *so much more* her! I believe it represents her better and adds a warmth that is very reflective of her as a person."
Tumblr media
Ellinor and Reese used the existing diamonds from her original set and even though they are now mounted into yellow gold, they look so much brighter than they did in the mass-manufactured white gold setting.
"Knowing Reese and getting to spend time with her before we started the design process was incredibly valuable for me as the designer," Ellinor explains, "and I feel like you can see the infectious positive energy that she brings, when you look at her rings. Add her bright nails to the photo and it just makes me smile!"

WORK WE LOVE: SPICING THINGS UP WITH CONTOUR BANDS
Tumblr media
When Linda Lewington met Ellinor years ago during a night out with mutual friends at the Calgary Stampede, she was smitten with the designer's jewellery.
"I really liked the jewellery she was wearing and when she told me she designed it all, I had to get her card."
The two then began working on re-vamping Linda's mother's engagement ring—a platinum band with an emerald cut diamond in the center and baguettes on either side.
"My mom had been asked why I wasn't wearing the ring. Even though it was nice and dainty, it wasn't my size or style; but Ellinor gave me a ton of ideas on how to tweak it."
Instead of taking the ring apart and redesigning it from scratch, Ellinor sent Linda an assortment of contour bands to look at. These bands would go on either side of the ring, transforming it into a right-hand ring.
"It's a very popular trend right now," says Ellinor, "but also a very clever way to make a ring-set more impactful."
Linda chose two gold bands with baguette diamonds to encase her mother's engagement ring.
"I'm so happy and thrilled with the finished piece. I wear it most days. Having it means even more to me now that my mom has passed away. It isn't easy finding someone you trust to take care of your heirloom pieces, but I found that in Ellinor."
Linda also recruited Ellinor's services to help redesign her wedding and tenth-anniversary ring following her divorce.
"I wasn't sure if I wanted a pendant or another ring, but I finally decided on one of Ellinor's award-winning Bird Nest rings. It was a perfect idea. Now I have two unique pieces to alternate between, and pass on to each of my children."

MEET THE TEAM: MARTINE AND BENEDICTE LAVOIE OF PIERRES DE CHARME INC.
Tumblr media
After working in real estate for thirty years, Martine Lavoie decided to change course and pursue an entirely new career—gemmology. After completing her classes at The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A), the world's longest established provider of gem and jewellery education, Martine founded Pierres de charme Inc., specializing in the sales of gems and precious stones, in 2012.
"In the beginning, the gem market in Montreal wasn't quite as important so I spent a year building my customer base in Halifax, Vancouver, and Calgary. It happened one brick at a time. Slowly you meet people, you give great service, and you get good reviews. I eventually began reaching out of Montreal, I moved my business out of my home and into an office, and then my daughter joined the team."
Bénédicte Lavoie pursued her studies in gemmology after completing a Bachelor's degree in HR management and was awarded the internationally recognized title of FGA-Merit (Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain). She joined Pierres de charme Inc. 2015 and has been working in the industry full-time for the past six years.
"Our interests are very complimentary. I love travelling and the business side of the industry, whereas my daughter is very interested in mining and cutting. We try to know everything about our gems, from beginning to end."
Every six months, the mother-daughter gem dealers visit their clients in Quebec City, Halifax, Fredericton, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver; and eight jewellery schools in Canada. They also travel the world to continue forging and strengthening ties with respected suppliers in Switzerland, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Burma, Sri Lanka, Brazil, and East Africa.
"It's a strong and active community of people. We all share, rather than compete, to make it work. It's a world of gratefulness and honour. You don't see a stone the same way when you see all the work that goes into finding it. These are not manufactured gems, they take millions of years to create and are so rare to find. It's like a piece of art from the earth."

WORK WE LOVE: A BIRD’S NEST RING FOR LOUISE LACEY-ROKOSH
Tumblr media
Louise Lacey-Rokosh first met Ellinor at the Calgary Rowing Club, almost seven years ago, which is how she discovered EVStenroos signature design — the Bird's Nest Ring.
"I had been collecting rings from relatives for a while. My Great Aunt Ruby, Aunt Phillis, Aunt Gladys, and Great Uncle Bill all left me solitaires in their wills that I wanted to make into something special. Since each diamond is a different shape and cut, I knew combining them into one ring would make the design quite random but it's perfect for Ellinor's Bird's Nest Ring."
After their initial meeting, Ellinor sent Louise four designs. With a few modifications and help from family, she chose the first rendering.
"I call it my wrinkly love ring, and I think Ruby, Phillis, Gladys, and Bill would be pleased to see me wearing it. I understand why Ellinor has won awards for this design. It's beautiful, and unique and working with her is so easy."
Not only is Louise an avid rower, who competed in the 2019 World Rowing Masters Regatta in Hungary, but she is also an artist with a BFA in painting and a double master's in Architecture and Architectural Technology.
Tumblr media
Quilt series - Pinwheel 24x 30, Oil on panel. In recent juried show at the Leighton Art Centre
"I had a dream job, I was living in London and working as a Senior Design Architect with some of the best architects in the world but, in 2005, I knew it was time to leave and paint full-time instead."
Although her inspiration is always changing, Louise looks to artists, like Edmond Praybe, Zoey Frank, and Maggie Siner, who leave their "handwriting", their personal, identifiable brushwork on their paintings.
"The power of their mark-making is what stands them apart from other artists. You can tell their work anywhere, anytime."
Louise has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, and her paintings reside in private collections across Canada, the USA, and England. You can view her work in-person at the Leighton Art Centre in Millarville, Alberta. To learn more about Louise, visit her website and follow her on Instagram at @LouiseRokosh .

WORK WE LOVE: RINGS FOR HIM AND HER
Tumblr media
After seeing a friend wearing a custom piece from EVStenroos, Suzanne Stewart knew Ellinor would be the one to design her engagement ring.
"I have really specific taste and didn't want a traditional wedding ring with a solitaire cut-diamond. Ellinor's work is modern and clean but timeless in a unique way."
This is why when Suzanne's husband, Shea Kerwood, Founder and Creative Director of Brandsmith—a strategic brand development company—popped the question, using a 3D printed ring from a previous EVStenroos collection.
"We were in Paris and had just spent the day cruising around, picking up wine, cheese, and baguettes. When we got back to the little apartment we were staying in, we started listening to a song we had heard before. Out of nowhere, we started dancing, and I thought wow this is how I want to propose, during a beautiful sweet moment with just the two of us. It really summed up how I wanted to spend every day with her. I used a 3D printed ring from Ellinor to propose and told Suzanne they would design her engagement ring together."
The finished result is a set of three, stackable rings. Suzanne's engagement ring is a brushed gold eternity band with channel set baguette diamonds. Her wedding ring is polished gold with brilliant round diamonds spaced & scattered evenly around the ring. Shea gifted her with the third ring on their wedding day. It is the most traditional, a polished gold eternity band encased with tiny square diamonds.
Ellinor also designed Shea's wedding ring—a simple gold band with a single asymmetrical baguette diamond notched into one of the edges.
"Working with Ellinor is so easy, in the sense that you can talk to her about your vision and she'll guide you through all of your options and recommend things you hadn't even thought of before," concludes Shea.

Mother's Day is Almost Here
From the archive: April 30th, 2020
Tumblr media
Hello,
First and foremost, I hope you are safe, healthy, and in good spirits despite current events. While the sun is finally shining, the cancellation of all summer events and gatherings over 15 people has dampened the spirits of many. Although large weddings and anniversary parties will have to be postponed until further notice, we can still find ways to celebrate love. If we can learn anything from this pandemic, it's that nothing brings more joy and hope to life than beautifully fulfilling relationships. Though it's important to be sad about the cancellation of these momentous events, we must keep looking to the future — the birthdays, the engagements, the graduations, and the many milestones still to come.
I understand the difficultly that is staying positive through all of this, but I've found a few ways to keep my spirits up, especially when it comes to working and living in the same space, are:
Closing the door to your office when you're finished working helps to signal that the work-day is indeed over. If there is no door to close, close the tabs on your computer instead and don't respond to work-related messages until the next day.
When I get dressed for work, I choose clothes that would be fit to meet a client in, and I only change into something more casual when I am officially done working. Again, this helps separate my work-time from my personal-time.
If I need an easy pick-me up during the day, because the news can be a bit overwhelming, I sometimes put on a bright lipstick and a glitzy pair of earrings or one of my favourite rings that I can see throughout the day while typing on my keyboard. It just adds that little bit of brightness to my day!
We are continuing to accept new orders and design projects and are able to complete them without much interruption. Minor delays with items we regularly source from suppliers in other provinces and states may occur.
Best wishes,
Ellinor Stenroos
MOTHER'S DAY IS ALMOST HERE

WORK WE LOVE: SOMETHING OLD TURNED INTO SOMETHING NEW
Freelance food writer, columnist, editor, and author Gwendolyn Richards has always had an obsession with arrows. When she came across an antique ring set that gave the illusion of an arrow piercing through a person's middle finger, she decided it was time to repurpose her left-over gold jewellery.
Tumblr media
"It occurred to me that it would make more sense to transform my hodgepodge box of jewellery into something more meaningful that I would actually wear. I've known Ellinor for almost a decade, and this project seemed like a perfect fit for her. It was a fun and easy process — she was able to translate my incohesive description into an exquisite piece of jewellery."
Tumblr media
The end result, a two-piece vintage-inspired cocktail ring set with diamonds, 3 of which were reused from an old promise ring Richards' first boyfriend gave her, and hand-engraved to fit the desired time and style era!
"As a food writer, I miss dressing up and going out to try new foods and new drinks and talking to chefs and bartenders. When this is all over, I want a bourbon sour at Proof, dinner at Native Tongues, Calcutta Cricket Club, and Cassis, and brunch at Pigeon Hole, just to name a few."
If you're a citrus lover like Richards, check out her cookbook Pucker, for over 100 recipes highlighting the flavours of lemon, limes, and grapefruits.

And the winner of our diamond giveaway is...
From the archive: March 25th, 2020
Tumblr media
Hello,
I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this difficult and uncertain time. The news of COVID-19 has many of us feeling overwhelmed, stressed about work and the economy, and concerned for loved ones. If you are feeling paralysed or unsure of what to do, know that you are not alone. The impacts of coronavirus are felt across the globe. It is important that we try to think positively, stay connected with one another, and support our communities, especially those most vulnerable to this epidemic.
As a small-business owner and creative, I am using this time to work on new projects. Many of my suppliers in other provinces or states have been forced to close for a period of time, but I am able to continue designing, while waiting for normal operations to resume. None of the current projects are affected or anticipated to be delayed. I am hopeful that I can seamlessly continue to design, make and deliver throughout this entire period of time, even if at slight reduced capacity. If there is a project you have been interested in pursuing with EVStenroos, of if you just want to talk -jewellery or not, please send me an email at [email protected].
The health of my clients and team is of the utmost importance to me. I would not continue to work if it posed a threat of spreading COVID-19. I work alone in a small studio in Calgary and because of the nature of my work as a self-employed goldsmith, silversmith and jewellery designer, I have always had strict hygiene and social distancing practices in place. All consultations can be conducted over phone, email, and video chat. My external team of goldsmiths/engravers also work independently in various studios and workshop spaces, keeping them operating safely during this time.
If you have any questions or concerns, do hesitate to reach out. Keep positive and stay healthy, Ellinor Stenroos

WORK WE LOVE: ONE WOMAN'S ENGAGEMENT STORY Two years after meeting, Derek proposed to Kate over Thanksgiving long weekend with a set of stacking rings designed by Ellinor.
"Ellinor and I met on Twitter through a mutual friend seven or eight years ago" Kate says. "I always knew I wanted her to design my engagement ring. Her aesthetic is modern and clean, and she is so nice and sweet and wonderful to work with. Having someone who is an online acquaintance turn into a friend while they make your engagement ring is such a lovely experience."
Although Derek oversaw the details of Kate's wedding rings, she handled the general direction of the design.
"My family has a family ring — a diamond solitaire — so I wanted my engagement ring to be different. Less traditional with a mixture of metals and diamonds," explains Kate.
Together with Ellinor, the couple designed three rings: two rose gold eternity bands with a diamond ring in the middle.
Tumblr media
"Once we had the base concept down, the biggest thing was sorting out the technical details," says Derek."Ellinor made it easy for me, she's a true artist and an amazing designer. She explained different ways to get the most value out of certain cuts. We also talked about different ways to personalize the rings. There is an engraving on the inside of each band — a tiny lock represents when Kate got locked out of the restaurant we were meeting at on our first date; a pineapple for our honeymoon in Hawaii; and a shark, because Kate just really loves them."
While the planning phase of their engagement went smoothly, Kate endearingly describes the proposal itself as a bit of a gong show.
"The ring was supposed to arrive at Derek's parents' house on the day he planned to propose, but there was a delay. He had arranged for a winery to email me about a new wine listing, so I would suggest we go for a tasting. While we were driving there, he got the call that the ring had arrived so we had to turn back. He tried to come up with an excuse for the detour, but I figured out what was going on. Once we got to the winery, we were handed glasses of wine and encouraged to ‘take a walk’ down to the pond. Totally subtle. Derek started crying almost immediately, and could barely get through the actual proposal, it was incredibly sweet,” Kate says with a laugh.
"I put a little rubber ducky in the box and proposed with that first. I had a good laugh over that but Kate found it less whimsical," Derek adds.

THE RISING COST OF PALLADIUM
Tumblr media
Palladium, a shiny white metal in the same group as platinum, is now the most valuable precious metals, with a recent shortage driving prices to an all-time record breaking high.
The cost of palladium has jumped by more than 25% in the last two weeks alone, and almost doubled in value over the last year, making it more expensive than gold...

MEET THE TEAM: WARREN SMITH, MASTER ENGRAVER AT THE COAST HANDWORKS CO.
Born and raised in North Vancouver, BC, Warren Smith is a journeyman machinist turned goldsmith, master hand engraver revered for his meticulous attention to detail and outstanding artistic designs.
"Growing up, I lived across the street from Robert Davidson and Bill Reid, two famous west coast artists. I was influenced early on by the artwork in their houses. It led to me being interested in and studying art as a teenager, primarily north west coast work.”
Warren went on to become a full journeyman machinist, melding his love of art and metal together while continuing to practice engraving on his own. When he was offered a job as head engraver at a company in Vancouver, after walking in to ask a few questions about tool design, Warren saw it as an opportunity to gain more technical knowledge and accepted.
Tumblr media
“I would start my days at 5:30 in the morning and finish around 10 at night, in order to learn while working.”
It was during his time in Vancouver that Smith met Ellinor, who was also working with a different jewelry company.
“Her and I would meet through the phone to work on various projects. When she went out on her own, she called me to work on some of her pieces and I said yes. Ellinor is a dynamo and I can’t say enough good things about her. She is inspiring, her enthusiasm is incredible, and she is one of the hardest working people I know in this business. She places a lot of trust in me and allows me a lot of creative freedom on our collaborations, and I think that’s how you get the best pieces.”
After 12 years in Vancouver, Smith decided to branch out on his own and now works from his ranch/studio in the Okanagan Valley. He has engraved thousands of unique pieces for jewellers, gunsmiths, private collectors, and many celebrities, including David Bowie, John Travolta, and Sylvester Stallone. In 2012, Smith began offering his engraving services directly to the public.
Tumblr media
“When I stopped working under the umbrella of a company, I was no longer conveniently located and it was only my reputation on the line. The fear that people wouldn’t like my work and that they wouldn’t come, meant the quality of my work had to increase immensely.”

KIRSTEY JANE, PHOTOGRAPHER & FOUNDER OF SUPER CORPORATE PEOPLE
Tumblr media
Kirstey Jane has always loved taking pictures. Before moving to Calgary and opening her own photography studio, Kirstey split her time between working in London’s restaurant and nightlife industry and taking photos.
“I had a career in training and development but there were just so many actors, dancers, and performers who needed photos for their portfolios. I would photograph them and weddings and corporate events on the weekends and in the evenings.”
In 2001, Kirstey left behind London’s hub of fashion and media agencies to come to Calgary and start a family. But, when she arrived, she realized the photography industry in Alberta was going to be very different. “London was very exciting and fashion-focused. There was a lot of attention to detail, the city was busy and thriving. But here, people wanted pictures of their dogs,” she laughs. “And no one had a website for their work. It was all through the yellow pages.”
Although Calgary lacked a strong online photography community, it didn’t take long for Kirstey to find a niche for herself.
“The corporate, business-side of things in Calgary was very male dominated and it was a blur of golf shirts, chinos, and coffee mugs. I wanted to put a spin on it and help people ramp up their business image. I was able to find clients and build up my portfolio mostly by word of mouth. People would see my pictures on someone’s desk or business card and I would be referred to them.”
But as digital cameras became more and more accessible, Kirstey had to continue distinguishing her business from emerging photographers.
Tumblr media
“It’s not all about how great the pictures are. In my opinion, it’s 20 percent technical skill and 80% people skills. You have to know how to talk to people, how to resolve problems, and how to navigate a business.”
When Kirstey met Ellinor, through a mutual friend over ten years ago, the two instantly clicked and began working together. You may recognize Kirstey’s work from EVStenroos editorial campaigns and more recently, our 10th anniversary party.
“You don’t find work like Ellinor’s often, especially in Calgary," Kirstey says. "I can’t remember the first shoot we did together, whether it was business or social, but we really connected. She has a keen eye to detail and is very visual. She liked my photos, and I didn’t have to explain much to her. We do the same work, just in different trades.”

WORK WE LOVE: OLD MADE NEW
Last month, we interviewed John and Jane, who had stumbled upon EVStenroos' at the Blue Rock Gallery in 2014, to learn more about the cufflinks Ellinor created from a brooch John inherited.
This month, we're talking to Jane about the earrings and pendant necklace Ellinor reworked for her.
"I also inherited some jewellery when my mother passed away, including a pair of grey pearl drop earrings. I had always loved the pearls, but the rest of the design was quite lavish. Ellinor was able to strip away the gaudiness of the design while keeping the pearls intake. She even drilled tiny little diamonds in them which sparkle whenever they move, which is absolutely gorgeous and speaks to who my mother was. I think of her whenever I wear them."
Tumblr media
"There is something really lovely about being around someone who has such high standards and creativity rolled into one. Ellinor stays true to both her vision and yours, and is extraordinary to work with."
Jane also inherited a classic, three-drop pearl pendant necklace from her mother, which was originally a 50th anniversary present.
"After my mother passed, I wore the necklace every time I saw my father because it made him so happy. After he passed away, I gave the necklace to Ellinor to redesign it into something more contemporary. She placed the three pearls into a sterling silver circle, and dusted grey diamonds on one side and white on the other. Now, I have a very beautiful daytime piece and a very luxurious piece all in one. It's stunning and a ton of fun to wear. I always get compliments on how beautiful it is. When I pass, I plan to leave it to my nieces, whom I'm sure won't want to change a thing about it."

WORK WE LOVE: A MOTHER'S BROOCH TURNED CUFFLINKS
Tumblr media
When Jane and John stumbled upon EVStenroos' at the Blue Rock Gallery in 2014, they both immediately fell in love with her work.
"These were unique designs that neither of us had seen before. We loved the clean lines, the craftsmanship, and the contemporary yet enduring style. Personally, I was drawn to the bling factor of her work. I have a bit of a magpie eye," says Jane.
"Her work has a very clean, nordic aesthetic," adds John.
While the couple has both commissioned pieces from Ellinor, we wanted to learn more about John's EVStenroos cufflinks, created from a brooch he inherited from his mother.
Tumblr media
"In the mid-60s, my family and I used to go holidaying in the Isle of Wight. On a rainy day in '65 or '66, we passed by a shop called the Benzie of Cowes, they've been creating nautical-styled brooches, bracelets, and pendants out of flags since Queen Victoria’s time. In the window, I saw a brooch that spelled 'Mary' which is my mother’s name and my father ended up buying it for her. It was a very elegant piece, which she wore all of her life. She passed away a few years ago and when my family was sorting out her estate, the one thing I wanted was the brooch. Upon closer examination, I noticed that it had lived quite a good life. I wasn't sure what to do with it so I gave it to Ellinor and asked her to help." Over the course of a year, John and Ellinor worked together to create a pair of cufflinks from his mother's brooch.
"Ellinor and I came up with several ideas but none of them really worked out because of the state the brooch was in. It was missing several diamonds, and instead of investing in new stones to rebuild it, I thought we should play with the skeleton of it."
Tumblr media
The final product is a pair of cufflinks in a silver setting. On one side are the two intact flags from the brooch and on the other side are the frames of the flags with more wear and tear.
"She did a wonderful job of preserving the integrity of the piece. Instead of my mother's brooch sitting away in a box somewhere, it's been repurposed. I think Ellinor is very brave in her design choices. Repurposing comes with a lot of baggage, there are a lot of personal memories tied to this piece and you could get it wrong very easily. She works hard to understand your personal aesthetic and is very honest with her design principle."
Stay tuned for part two of this segment, where we interview Jane to learn more about her collaboration with Ellinor.

WORK WE LOVE: A FAMILY HEIRLOOM TRANSFORMED
Patty McLeod describes the moment when she discovered Ellinor's work on Instagram as love at first sight. She was enthralled with EVStenroos' signature Bird's Nest ring , but even though she continuously sent photos of it to her husband, and even went so far as to print and post pictures of it around their home, he wasn't taking the bait. So McLeod decided to take matters into her own hands.
"I wanted the Bird's Nest ring but I also had a few other pieces I need adjusted. After Ellinor reworked some rings I owned, my mom passed down a brooch to me. It was given to her by her mother and was in a such a delicate state — I'm assuming it came from England sometime in the early 1900s — that it had been sitting in a safety deposit box for the last sixty years. While it didn't have much monetary value, it had tons of sentimental value attached to it. My mother gave it to me on the condition that I have it made into a wearable piece of jewellery. So I took it to Ellinor."
Tumblr media
Together, Patty and Ellinor designed a stunning antique-inspired ring from the larger diamonds, a set of bangles, and two pairs of earrings, one of which McLeod gifted to her mother.
"It was very important that my mother also has something she can wear and enjoy. Eventually, both pairs will go to my two daughters. While I love all of the pieces, I get the most wear out of the bangles. They go with absolutely everything, from business to fun, and I love how they can be mixed and matched."
Tumblr media
"I love how Ellinor was able to take something with so much sentimental value, that was completely hidden away from the world, and attach new meaning to it. You need to work with someone you trust on a project like this. There is so much emotional attachment surrounding jewellery, whether it's from a failed relationship or lost parents, and Ellinor honours that. This brooch was the one thing my mother received after her mother passed away, and it was very hard for her to let it go. She instilled a lot of trust in me, as I did with Ellinor and now I won't let anyone else touch my jewellery. This is more than a vocation for Ellinor, this matters to her. She is an artist and a storyteller and she helps people move forward."
McLeod and Ellinor are currently planning a set of rings to go along with each of these reworked pieces. Stay tuned for part 2 of her interview!
