Oof, good point. Wonder if the Fallen ever used that as proof that they were right to attack them.

Oh. Yes. Man I can't believe I didn't see something like this. Of course the lie about how triggers worked would get picked up and seen as just true by a lot of capes, especially ones not connected to the PRT. And of course it would lead to people reinterpreting their own trauma.
Now if I recall, this is slightly different from what Taylor thought the deal was: heroes got their powers in triumphant moments, villains from trauma. Maybe there's a few different theories floating about, maybe the story got changed by the time Worm started, maybe this drunk cape fanatic is misremembering things. But either way, the idea that really good powers are deserved in some way fits well into a worldview that sees the PRT as inherently just and good. And of course people who don't decide to be heroes could still end up seeing whatever gave them their powers as a good thing, as them doing good, and view their powers as proof of that. They're the elect, and must be on the right track. Amy was desperately holding onto that to believe she could be good, wheras May seems to be less concerned with being good and more concerned with being right, with her getting to take what she wants from others because she's better and she deserves it. Its like a less ridiculous version of Charlies whole deal in Fudge Revelations.

In case anon actually didn't know (and I don't really know whether this is still common knowledge or not), they're called Empire Eighty-Eight because 88 is a neonazi symbol. It stands for Heil Hitler, since H is the eight letter of the alphabet.
Was naming the nazi gang in worm "triple E" (E3) a reference to gamers being *like that*?
no not at all

World Central Kitchen announced that it will resume operations in Gaza on Monday, almost one month after seven of its aid workers were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the enclave. The U.S.-based nonprofit group, founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, suspended operations in Gaza for four weeks after the workers were killed on April 1, according to a statement. The organization identified the aid workers as Saifeddin Issam Ayad Abutaha, a 25-year-old Palestinian; Lalzawmi (Zomi) Frankcom, a 43-year-old Australian; Damian Soból, a 35-year-old from Poland; Jacob Flickinger, a 33-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada; Security team members John Chapman, 57, James (Jim) Henderson, 33, and James Kirby, 47, all from the United Kingdom, were also killed in the attack.
Before halting operations, the organization had distributed more than 43 million meals in Gaza “and accounted for 62% of all international NGO aid,” WCK said in a statement. “The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire,” said Erin Gore, the nonprofit’s chief executive officer. “We are restarting our operation with the same energy, dignity, and focus on feeding as many people as possible.” WCK has 276 trucks carrying almost 8 million meals that are ready to cross into Gaza via Rafah, and will send trucks into the enclave via Jordan too, it said in a statement. The organization is also continuing to explore delivering food with the help of Open Arms, a Spanish humanitarian organization, and the United Arab Emirates.

Getting more details about cluster mechanics aside. Writing that the asian girl gave the black guy her music skills while the black guy gave the asian girl his drug habit is. Well I wouldn't have written that I don't think.

I like seeing more of the PRT-heroes-as-products side of things. Lily getting her own promo, a release date, the whole shebang. We got some of that in Worm with reference to the action figures and lunchboxes and whathaveyou, and with the Wards having to clean off the blood in time for the tour groups and all that, but there was a bit less of that Glen Chambers magic than I would've liked. We see a lot of the effects of the marketing, but the marketing itself barely got seen.
Then again, deconstructions of superheroes that focus on how much their a marketing tool is already a well-trodden trope. The Boys, Disney's Hercules, even Watchmen with Veidt's action figure line. Can't begrudge 'bow for letting us fill in the blanks on the advertising aspect when there's already so many stories centered on that.

in most scenes of twig, ashton was using his robust imagination to meticulously craft a small video of Subway Surfers gameplay in the corner of his field of view. he did this because he is swag, and so epic
