Dr Worm has stuffed the letter into the depths of a drawer and is now giving said drawer a wide berth. This has not been helping.

The nightmare's are coming back, worse and more graphic than before. The images are burned onto their retinas.

Shattered glass littering the floor, and rooms so cold you can see your breath.

Trying not to sleep. Trying not to sleep. Eyes boring holes into the ceiling, trying to stay awake.

A million lances of pain. Crisp, clean offices and bright infographics, whiter-than-white smiles, laughter, and handshakes.

Sneaking past a fundraising party, bloodied footprints following them, hardly daring to breathe at all.

Dr Worm's vision comes back into focus. That's right. They were just chopping tomatoes for dinner. It looks too similar to blood, now, knife slicing into red, too much like flesh-

They set it down with a clatter and back away, trapped between the letter and the chopping board, frozen.

Dr Worm is sat on the sofa, riffling through their letters.

“Bank, bank, accounting, society, ooh- my magazine, oh, what’s this?”

They sit a little more upright and open a brown, stern looking envelope with the address - to Dr Worm’s prior address - written in looping biro.

Withdrawing and unfolding the letter, they read it.

Your location has come to our attention. Return to Research Location #3 immediately.

Failure to comply will result in further punishment for your disobedience.
