Ibtisam and her children are currently under fire RIGHT NOW in north Gaza!

Ibtisam’s oldest daughter Noha sustained a head wound and a serious burn on her hand after narrowly escaping IOF bombing. They are trying to evacuate to a relatively safer place and get Noha treatment. Her injuries are very concerning and her hand is severely blistered and unusable, requiring urgent treatment.

The family NEEDS to get to some kind of safety, and Noha URGENTLY needs treatment or she could lose her hand!!

Evacuation and medical treatment costs amount to about $1,000 USD needed

I think every computer user needs to read this because holy fucking shit this is fucking horrible.

So Windows has a new feature incoming called Recall where your computer will first, monitor everything you do with screenshots every couple of seconds and "process that" with an AI.

Hey, errrr, fuck no? This isn't merely because AI is really energy intensive to the point that it causes environmental damage. This is because it's basically surveilling what you are doing on your fucking desktop.

This AI is not going to be on your desktop, like all AI, it's going to be done on another server, "in the cloud" to be precise, so all those data and screenshot? They're going to go off to Microsoft. Microsoft are going to be monitoring what you do on your own computer.

Now of course Microsoft are going to be all "oooh, it's okay, we'll keep your data safe". They won't. Let me just remind you that evidence given over from Facebook has been used to prosecute a mother and daughter for an "illegal abortion", Microsoft will likely do the same.

And before someone goes "durrr, nuthin' to fear, nuthin to hide", let me remind you that you can be doing completely legal and righteous acts and still have the police on your arse. Are you an activist? Don't even need to be a hackivist, you can just be very vocal about something concerning and have the fucking police on your arse. They did this with environmental protesters in the UK. The culture war against transgender people looks likely to be heading in a direction wherein people looking for information on transgender people or help transitioning will be tracked down too. You have plenty to hide from the government, including your opinions and ideas.

Again, look into backing up your shit and switching to Linux Mint or Ubuntu to get away from Microsoft doing this shit.

we've been helping mohammed and his family (including a 2 month old) fundraise since august last year, they've had to close their gfm and reopen it recently. they cant take care of sharing it or doing social media stuff, we're the only lifeline they have. they just got back to the north of gaza a couple of weeks ago and now israel has broken the ceasefire and resumed bombing the gaza strip.

i just hope that no person anywhere in the world at any point in the future has to go through what mothers in gaza went through these past few months.

like it was so insane. women were giving birth without medical aid and having c-sections without anaesthesia while being malnourished and unable to properly provide food and warmth to their newborns. they couldn't produce milk and couldn't afford baby formula. hell, at a certain point finding baby formula was impossible in certain areas of gaza. and there was the constant fear of death hanging over their heads.

there were hopes that after the ceasefire things would improve for these babies and their mothers. that their quality of life would improve. but now that there are chances that israel won't continue with the ceasefire, we need to support these mothers and infants, now more than ever.

please please consider helping my friend suad, who has a little baby boy who suffers from respiratory problems. she just wants to ensure her son's well being. baby khaled is around 8 months old. her fundraiser has been verified (#279).

hi. as i shared yesterday, i am newly homeless and absolutely at a loss as to what my next steps will be. i have no food, no hygiene stuff, and $5 total to get me through the weekend and to work this week after the cost of the motel and storage for the few things i chose to keep.

hello, i'm literally so ashamed to be asking for help yet again but this time i'm really drowning and this is my only hope.

this week i had a scan and it revealed that the chemo ive been on for two years has caused necrosis in my lower jaw. it's intensely painful, because my bone is basically dying. while we're working on a treatment plan, i need drugs in order to kill this pain and i just can't afford them any more.

ive spent all of my savings and sold my belongings to pay for meds, rent, and therapy. people on tumblr have donated and shared my posts, my friend has even sold their artwork to raise money to help me and that's why i'm so incredibly ashamed to be asking for help again. bc you've already helped.
