"WELL- IT'S A BIT COMPLICATED-" Motley had never met another aasimar before. He would have lost his composure before he'd been changed, but now he was nervous for entirely different reasons. This aasimar could clearly tell something was wrong with him (could they?). He just didn't know if it was more humiliating to have them assume he'd fallen (hadn't he, in a way?)- or if the truth of his alteration was worse. Or maybe the question was entirely related to something else. He had a habit of getting vague when referring back to his time in Barovia. Had he said something odd without noticing? Or had he neglected to mention the mask's status as a sight aid by mistake?

He'd been referring to his mask, and the fact that he'd finally made it to a point where it was no longer his primary vessel for sight, but 'no longer needing it so much' could really be taken as either his slightly stolen valor (it wasn't stolen, he'd just lost it) or the fact that his sight aid was no longer the end all be all of his mobility. He was opting for the latter and praying Ilmater's mercy would extend to him in that moment. At the very least so he could stop panicking over potentially innocent questions and have a normal interaction for once. Especially with someone he'd have jumped at the change to talk to a year ago.

"Seeing without it is still a bit limited, I'm definitely better off with the mask- and I'm used to it, by now. But I'm not lost without it! Or, I'm not now, I guess," He said at last. Oh, he was a wreck, wasn't he. He had to get it together. By the Triad, this was getting sad. "So I guess, not that complicated, after all- sorry about that."

"SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN," Legion replied. "I will be on my most respectable behavior, promise, and I'll see if I can't be useful in a 'people will spill things in front of me because they think I'm just security' kind of way."

Crowds were not Legion's friend, but he was not to be the spectacle here, which did a bit to ease any anxieties brewing. He grinned back.

"Let's get going then- and yeah. it's relatable. I'm not gonna pry, but just know I'm not gonna be the one to judge you for shit that needs to be left behind."

"I thank you for that.... there are thing I am not proud of in my past. I am sure some of that is probably relatable in some capacity." He offered as he thought about when they should arrive.

"I think on time this time, if we are forced to do another we can make them wait for me." He spoke looking at Legion with a small smile.

The would-be monster hunter had gotten one solid swipe in with his little sword. It wasn't much, but Legion gestured at the wound anyway to prove his own innocence.

"I didn't even draw my weapon. That's a much more efficient way to kill people, trust me," Legion said. "If I'd been planning on killing him I'd have just used that."

CHORUS'S BACK STRAIGHTENED, false bravado yanked back into place hastily. He beamed again, smile strained at the edges. He would not bring down the mood ever, if he could help it.

"It's still there in the ways that matter, isn't it?" He asked. "I remember it- I'm sure everyone in Liptenn does too. So that's- that's something!"

He wanted to go home.

"If you get a chance, you should go off-plane too, I've heard a bunch about the feywilds, they've got to be gorgeous- and my friend and I passed through this little town near Baldur's Gate that had a bunch of High Harvestide festivities- it's passed now but it'd be easy to find next year." Chorus did what he did best and kept talking, bouncing from the balls of his feet to his heels. Silence was the enemy, in this moment and he was pretty solidly mediocre at defeating enemies by now.

Lyria could tell there was more to be said about Gold Peak. She knew people enough to know it probably had been personal to loose such a place. She wanted to ask if anyone had tried to get it rebuilt but she felt it may be too personal to ask. "The flowers sound lovely." Her voice was soft as she looked at Chorus with a small smile.

"I am sorry to hear what happened, and I am sorry that someplace you clearly love is gone." She wondered with the tiefling would want a hug or not, she was never really sure when it was something that would actually comfort a person.
