Day 8 of HADM! Hypno!!

i shall be rambling under the cut :D

WHOOOOOOO HYPNO!

fun fact: i had NEVER drawn hypno prior to this piece. like ever. which is honestly a shame, but now i've fixed that! i have officially drawn hypno!

Because this is a first design I can imagine it will change over time, but in the meantime i do really like this even if its super simple. I kinda just went through my usual first design process, which really is just looking at the mcyt's typical skin, fanart of the mcyt, and then running with those two and whatever vibe I'm getting.

But yeah! tbh i LOVE this one, it turned out SO GOOD!! the lighting especially im in love with for this one

Day 7 of HADM! Bdubs!!

As always, i shall be rambling under the cut :D

i love LOVE drawing bdubs, i do it so much at this point, and i actually have a fair amount of traditional art of him lmao. i even drew bdubs recently for a different mcyt event (mcytplatonicheros)

now with bdubs i couldnt NOT do a horse, so naturally- horse. i would like to thank heroforge again for being such a good reference tool cause MAN i have no practice drawing animals tbh....

anyways, bdubs. some of his design is carried over from his life series skins (the headband, the white hair) but i also carried over the super fluffy cloak and the pink flowers from my friend's bdubs cosplay! He also gets a green shirt cause i like how it looks lol

DAY 6 of HADM! Mumboooooooo!

a bit late to posting but i did it!

I LOVE drawing mumbo, I frankly don't do it enough lmao. For this one I wanted some redstone stuff, but I also wanted it to be a little bit less minecraft-y, so that led to the redstone dust being like, actual dust :D

I also like the super strong lighting coming off the redstone, I think it looks especially cool! Overall I don't have a ton to say about this one, but i really like it!

Day 5 of Hermit-a-day May! False!

GOD i love how this one turned out. So SO much. The lighting turned out so good, and I love the pose and just- man, this one is my favorite so far.

I mostly just stuck to false's skin, since I haven't drawn false a ton, but I did give her a falconry glove! My thoughts were that in her mc skin she has very long gloves, and i know a lot of people draw her as an avian or with wings, so- falconry glove it is! Let's just imagine she's waiting for her bird to land :D

In other news I am quickly running out of prepared pieces since I haven't had the time to make more, so I'm gonna get back on the grind this morning o7

Day 4 of Hermit-A-Day May! Alt Hermits!

I'm a sucker for Hotguy so naturally I had to draw him lol

gahhhhhhh hotguy my beloved

it has been far too long since i've drawn hotguy, so this was a nice refresher on one of my favorite designs! why is hotguy on the run you might ask? ...who knows! really i just wanted to do some more dynamic poses, and running was one of the first i found. Originally he was going to be running from cuteguy, but i liked the lighting bits of this better.

this is actually the third or fourth iteration of my hotguy design, since i just keep changing it lmao. at this point I think I'm pretty happy with the design, so I wont be surprised if it ends up sticking around for a while :D I actually put a lot of thought into this design, trying to use some pieces of what actual archers use nowadays, along with more super-hero-y elements. He also specifically has a compound bow, rather than a more simple bow like the ones in minecraft, which is why there's more than one string :D

what's this? malt posting a new fic out of the blue? for a fandom thats not ssmy? yes I know it's shocking. or it would be if it wasn't all planned out hehehe :) I'm participating in the @mcyt-platonic-heros event! this is my submission for round one that I had a such a great time writing. it's also the fic that gave me an excuse to rewatch all of bdubs' season 9 which was neat. hope you all like it!!

Day three of Hermit-a-day May! Tango!!

i LOVE drawing tango, I don't do it enough! No crazy design notes, though I can say his design has mostly stayed the same ever since I first drew him, which is not common with me lmao!

Fun fact: A lot of my pieces this year use heroforge for reference, because its such a good tool for custom pose reference! This one I wasn't sure what to do pose-wise or even drawing-wise, so I just messed around with the posing tools until I came up with something cool, and from there, inspiration struck, and I decided to make it Tango caving!

I think it's cool, even just looking at what I have prepared for this month so far, and what I've been making in preparation, I'm definitely learning about myself and how to problem solve certain issues I run into often. I'm also trying to get better at full bodies and different perspectives, and doing these poses is helping a lot!

The learning aspect is part of why I like big month long challenges like this! It requires you to make a LOT of art, and if you do art, you're going to learn, y'know? And I like learning and improving on what I do, so I think it's cool to get the opportunity to do so, especially with fun characters like the hermits!

Which means most of y'all have probably never seen this, since I never had the chance to post it on here! Anyways, here's my short little double life scarian animatic thing I made two years ago! Don't judge the art too hard, like I said, I made this in 2023 lmao.

DAY TWO!! Tis Grian day! Fun fact about this: this is the THIRD attempt at making today's Grian piece, I'll include the other two under the cut along with the rest of my rambles!

Firstly, I LOVE drawing Grian and his silly bird anatomy. I give my Grian bird legs and arm wings, (which are not unlike the rito from BotW or TotK, though obviously he also has hands lol.) The ear wings are a fairly new addition, but through fandom osmosis they have simply stuck fjsdbkjsdfb Now, why three whole Grian pieces you may ask? because I was unhappy with these first two to the point I just kept wanting a do-over. I think it's worth sharing these other two pieces with you all as a reminder that your art might not always be "perfect". And that's okay! Art is about growing! Not every piece will be something you like. I'm not surprised I had some versions I was unhappy with, that's just a part of making art!

I know for some people (like me) these monthly challenges can be tough when you want every piece to be your best work, and sometimes it feels like you fall flat. But you got this! Remember that all art is good, all that matters is that you made it!

If you don't know what Hermit-A-Day May is, it's a month long event, where every day we celebrate a different Hermit! There's a ton of super cool goals, and awesome raffle prizes! Anywayssssss, day one: Impulse! I love impulse, I've actually watched a fair amount of him, and I'm using this as an opportunity to share my Dragon!Impulse design! (Aka how I usually draw him lmao) I don't actually have any specific reason I draw him as a dragon, aside from the fact that it was a random idea in a discord server once, and it STUCK with me lmao.

We are looking for writers who are able to write a one-shot with a Word Min / Max of 1.5k to 3.5k in a three month time span. Any questions for writing, feel free to send our way; either through an ask, a dm, or on the application!

We are looking for Artists who are willing and or able to create a piece fitting an A5 paper (image attached for reference below), and needs to be CMYK and 300 DPI minimum.

2 page comics are allowed, though we will not be accepting many, one page comics are completely okay and we don't have a limit, as all artists are having one page.

We are also looking for any artists who would like to create art for physical and / or digital Merch! Details on *that* will be discussed with anyone who applies and is accepted, as there is an array of options that are available
