I Hope...

I hope that even though we're no longer together, you know that I appreciate everything you did with and for me. I loved every moment spent with you, regardless if we were just studying or out eating. I know it was mutual, but if not for you, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I got to see so many new things I never thought I'd get the chance to experience, so I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart. I hope your new man treats you the way you should be treated. Loves you better, cares for you better, spends time with you better, and ultimately, leads you in Christ better....than I could ever have hoped to do. I hope you tell your parents I thank them so much for raising you the way you turned out to be. I'm going to miss their warm smiles and welcoming arms. They will always have my utmost respect and love. I hope you continue growing in Christ. In days like these, it's so hard to continue seeking Christ and going to church, as we both know. Take the initiative to find what you need to have God show you everything he wants to tell you. I will always be praying for your success and that He uses you to glorify His kingdom. I hope that one day we will both heal from our scars. Not physical scars, but emotional and mental scars from past relationships. Let them not influence us or hold us back. Let them be opportunities to grow. Let us be stronger and overcome them. I hope I had at least somewhat of a good impact on you or a good lasting impression. All I remember are the times I hurt you or we had arguments and it makes me question if I was a good boyfriend or not. I hope you find all the happiness you need and deserve that should have been given to you. I hope one day I'll take your advice and learn to stop blaming myself for everything, even if it's not my fault. I hope one day we can look back at our relationship and laugh together at the silly things we did. I hope and pray God has a purpose for having me go through these trials right now. I hope the nightmares stop. I had a wonderful time getting to know you in our time together. Even though it didn't work out for us, I'm glad we agreed to stay friends. I pray for yours and my future, that it goes the way God intends it to go and that we both find solace in Him, regardless of who we're with or where we are in the world. For once, I think I'm content where I am, despite its troubles and constant problems. Life is a journey. Love is a journey. Take it one step at a time.
