James suspected the other's stiff posture, though he continued to let his arms stay in their place, that means behind Sebastian's back, as time was passing by, he realized he held a little too long onto the other, poor them maybe he was a bit too early with hugging another person he doesn't know about, now if he's thinking about it, it was better to let Sebastian know about him approaching and sharing an embrace with him first.

He found himself of letting go of the slightly shorter figure that he has hugged and took a few steps back to weakly smile at him. "Huh, seems like YOU haven't had a hug in a while, have you?" A simple chuckle left him, as he hesitated to open his mouth to spread his lips further, while both of his hands were slowly moving behind his back so he has something to fiddle with, he was a bit nervous that he was gonna be yelled at, or found to be weird, it was kind of inappropriate to hug a stranger.

The assumption actually made a smile touch upon his lips, not making them too wide ( to display his inhuman features, the sharp fangs of he has hidden in his mouth ) he didn’t want to freak out the person, he did that already too many times when he tried to communicate with people, he finally wanted to have a friendly conversation with another human being.

“Yeah, pretty much.” He giggled, starting to feel nervous as he spoke with the other being, it’s not like they were scary to him, it was just he was scared he’ll scare them and lose another opportunity to gain friends of his own. “Hmm, how did you know that though?” Head cocked to the side of his head, eyebrows narrowing up as if he was surprised. Did he show signs of him not being used to the kind words people who would’ve said to him if he was complete human?

The words made James’ eyes widen, he was not sure if he was supposed to be flattered or outright confused, either way, he was in between those two feelings of his. James let a smile touch upon his face and chuckled at the compliment. It wasn’t that usual someone would come up to him, tell him a compliment about his face, most of the people he meets he gets avoided at all cost.

Honestly, he was not sure how he should respond to a compliment like this, it made him feel happy, and somewhat relieved someone would like being around his presence.

“—Thank you? You don’t look that bad either, I’m not gonna say that you look better, but you look better than me.” He thought of this as a nice, silly thing to make him feel a bit better about himself.
