Do you like Yu Yu Hakusho?
Do you specifically like the anime version, and haven't read the manga? Do you know what the anime version changed?
One major thing was removing Atsuko (Yusuke's mom) from the Dark Tournament. In the manga, she's there, part of the gal squad, cheering Yusuke on the whole time, but the anime cut her entirely.
Here are my favorite moments of Atsuko in the Dark Tournament that the anime cut:

an old comic for an abandoned fic concept i had back in october. i don’t remember most of the details, but there was supposed to be a scene between yusuke and atsuko wherein she makes him talk about what he’s been so stressed about, which he is not too fond of. as things get more tense, she gives him a drink to help him unwind.
i remember it was supposed to me a pivotal moment for his character, wherein he can decide to either drink away his problems like his mom, thus perpetuating the cycle of abuse, or he could refuse the drink and forge his own path. half a metaphor, half literal. i don’t actually remember whether or not he took the drink tho, don’t think i ever decided :\ either way i found the comic and thought it held up alright, so wanted to share

y'know between getting copied by yanagisawa at the mansion, getting attacked while powerless by mitarai, and getting kidnapped by sensui, kuwabara's kind of the recurrent damsel in distress of chapter black. kinda like how keiko's the damsel in the spirit detective saga. which. has no kuwameshi implications im sure
