not a lot of studying going on these past few days, but that's ok since i just went through the ringer for two huge exams in a row and this girl needs her rest!

medication review: purpose, side effects, contraindications of common medicines (percocet, amoxicillin, furosemide, metformin, etc.)

fundamentals lab: tracheostomy suctioning and care, then some review with finding and measuring apical pulse

39/100: finally got caught up with my textbook readings for comparative politics! no more textbook until next friday– but i do have both a paper and a midterm to do before that. i have to complete a lab write-up as well, but honestly compared to my friends at other universities, i feel like my workload has been light this week. probably because it's parents weekend starting friday

sunset study days🌇 the government didn't shut down so i still have my internship!! worked today, studied for the bar a bit, and then went to class. i was a good student and got my readings done last night instead of cramming before class like i usually do✨

overall super productive day!!

i spent an hour reviewing for ChE Cal and 2 hours on doing assessments for minor subjects. they're both art-based outputs. i already know what i'm gonna do. i'm kinda nervous tho,, what if it doesn't turn out the way i planned it would ahkdjhka

i'm still behind my schedule, but i already planned by study sessions throughout the next few weeks so i'll have enough time to study still for all of them still.

The University of Barcelona's Medicine Faculty has temporarily installed a giant heart made by the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa, with the building's columns acting as the ribcage.

The objective of this work of art is to raise awareness about cardiovascular illnesses, which are the leading cause of death worldwide.

The work is titled El cor secret (The Secret Heart). The heart measures 13 metres tall and 10 metres wide, and weighs 150 kg. It's made of synthetic materials and painted by hand. It had previously been shown in Germany in 2014 and was supposed to arrive to Plensa's home city sooner, but it was delayed because of covid. Instead, in 2020, Plensa donated one of his famous head sculptures to this same building, to thank medicine professionals and students for their work during the pandemic.

i keep seeing people saying this shit and honestly i think it stems from the infantalization of humans. humans are capable of making decisions for themselves. do some vampires abuse their powers over humans? of course! but you cant assume that every single human vampire relationship (or sire and sired relationship for that matter) is some unhealthy power imbalance, especially when you dont even know them!!!
