I love playing Orlesian Wardens really, in a worldstate where the HoF is dead, you're always in their shadow. You arrive in this country a stranger, barely even welcome. It looms over you at Vigils Keep. Oghren has an inside joke about the year of blight and his friend isnt beside him to laugh with him. Nathaniel comes to the Keep and his father is but a name to you. Wynne stands in front of Amaranthine's chantry, looking as though she was waiting for someone else.

There's no letters at the start, and every little callback to the blight year is a reminder of someone you've never known. You're trained for a work that is thankless, you know.

It's not for you, this love and adulation. You aren't the saviour. You aren't the friend they lost. When will they stop looking at you and wondering what a Commander that Hero would have made?

You bury Blackmarsh and bring Kal'hirol home. You guard the Wending Wood. You make peace on the streets and fight battles that have nothing to do with darkspawn. You mine granite and seal fissures beneath the ground. You try. A dozen odd Fereldans come to think you're alright. Some even ask, if you're alright. This place is a far cry from Val Chevin, but you come to call it home.

When the Keep you built stands strong, when Amaranthine grows to care for you, when Sigrun smiles and says she'd rather spend the afterlife fighting by your side, when Oghren tells you the old war buddy would've liked you like there is no greater compliment, you will be content as an afterthought to a legend past its prime, an epilogue to another. Someone had to do it. Someone had to clean up. Someone had to rebuild. And someone had to leave. When the time comes, you will Join them.

Originally from Oralis, they were born to an apostate mother and spent the first 8 years of her life in the alienage of Val Royeaux before she and her mother were eventually discovered and taken to separate circles.

At 12 years old she was transferred to Kinloch hold. She hardly spoke her first 4 months there, spending most of her time studying alone or reading amongst the tranquil.

She became close with Jowan after he approached her several months after she arrived, having learned sign language assuming her lack of speaking was not a choice. This caused her to genuinely laugh for the first time since arriving to kinloch hold.

Jowan being only 2 years older than Drora took it upon himself to protect her, taking responsibility for mistakes that often resulted in punishment and isolation, or acting out when he saw Templars paying “too much” attention to her. As the years went on and they became one of Irwin’s star pupils this dicotomy shifted as she tried to help him with his studies and took the blame when his experimental spells went awry.

As their magical talent grew she became self assured and often overly confident individual. Many would describe her as intelligent and quick-witted, while in the same breath lamenting her lack of reflection and entitlement.

Yesterday was my time to be super self indulgent!

So, not to get super political on my art tumblr BUT i saw someone talk about a modern DA2 AU where Anders is an activist, and i expanded the thought, thinkin bout him as an anarchist actively fighting against authority & capitalism thru collaboration & organizing events & a few rotten eggs, and I loved it and got super excited and wanted to draw it a billion times, so i did! im definitely channeling some of my friends and mine ~Queer Leftist Agenda~ towards this AU lol.

Hawke is a more chill supporter that doesnt always get the whole scene or agree with the methods but nevertheless supports his bf
