Palestine. Self-reflection. Self-refinement.
This space has always been one of recalibration for me. After many years of inactivity and the absence in articulating myself in a published blog post, this is an attempt at stepping things up. So here it goes.
I am now a Master's graduate, married, and in the midst of a life pivot – a career shift. I am gradually drawing myself the career I aspire to have. There is some confusion along the way but I am hoping writing this clears this mind fog of mine.
Prosperity, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Urban Design, Urban Planning, UX/UI Design, Figma, Design Innovation, Design Consulting, Consumer Goods, Strategy, Sales Planning and Strategy, Writing, Editor. Business. Design. Engineering. Key words I'd like to be associated with.
These recent events in Palestine make you rethink everything though. How can I have a role in influencing policy to adopt the Palestinian cause rather than encourage the silencing of justice and truth. This would have to fall at the core of my purpose: encourage conversations around achieving justice for Palestine. Can I do that through design? through the organization or agency that I will be a part of? Does this mean the best thing to do is start my own little firm? I can. Maybe then I'll have the freedom to do what I want. It would be a good stepping stone.
What is my personal brand?
What am I good at?
I've done well in my master's. In research. In writing. In social innovation and design projects. I've done well working alone and in groups. I've had a particular knack for working alone though. Maybe I did enjoy it. Maybe I maxed myself out, but I was happy with it. I was happy to follow a bootcamp route. Wake up at a certain hour. Workout. Get ready. Walk. Get to school. Research. Read. Synthesize. Write. Eat. Read. Synthesize. Walk back. Talk to loved ones. Sleep at a certain hour. Repeat. It worked for me.
Let's see.
To be continued...

Did some solo exploring while visiting friends in Boston and found this little book shop near one of the gardens. I guess I live in this alley now?

"In Vietnamese, the word for missing someone and remembering them is the same: nhớ. Sometimes, when you ask me over the phone, Có nhớ mẹ không? I flinch, thinking you meant, Do you remember me?
I miss you more than I remember you."
