I see a lot of post about people asking how aros actually realized we were aro, mostly bc it really is hard bc you’re basically trying to prove a negative

And like honestly my advice is: if you think you might be aro, it doesn’t hurt anything to id as aro. If later you realize that you’re not, no harm done, glad you could hang with us for a while, good luck with your identity.

Being wrong about who you think u are is fine, there’s literally nothing wrong with it.

I didn’t id as aro for a while bc i was worried about being wrong, but then one day i just said fuck it, I’m aro, and i never looked back. Honestly great move by me bc i was finally able to allow myself to participate fully in the community and i realized that i really related to what other aros experience too

So like if you think ur aro, try it out. If ur right then welcome, and if u find out ur wrong then it’s nbd

You blew my mind when you used the phrase "make examples of us" because that really is exactly what they're doing isn't it? They don't actually want to stop any wrongdoing, what they want is a head on a pike they can wave around in front of other transmascs and say "See? See??? This is what we'll do to you if you step out of line!!!"

Yep! There's a reason they don't give a shit when anyone involved acknowledges the behavior in question and changes it; and why they never attempted to talk to anyone involved in a genuine way, letting anyone know what the problem was, educating them, and giving them a chance to grow and change.

They don't give a shit about change, or growth, or stopping anything. It's a punitive justice system re-enacted through social media, and we can think of it as such; the prison system exists to trap and control people, not to reduce crime rates. We've seen systems that reduce crime rates, and they look like rehabilitation- not removal from society, dehumanization, and endless punishment.

And if the things they do to us are okay because of the words they manage to slap onto the situation, consider how easy it would be for them to slap those same words onto you. Consider how easy it would be for them to do the same to you.

What they want is an excuse to dispose of people for petty bullshit and bigotry. What they want is control.

Every time I get groceries I’m always appalled at how little you can get for like, $20. I was making banana pudding so I needed vanilla wafers but the brand name nilla wafers cost $4 a box. The minimum wage in my state is $7.25/hr. My friend put it really well when he said “imagine you work for an hour and someone hands you two boxes of nilla wafers and said ‘actually this is a bit more than what I owe you’”

it’s interesting to me how i can’t find any local bail funds that go towards bailing out actual prisoners and not just activists and protestors. seem a lil backwards to me. maybe the reasoning is ppl are more likely to fund them rather than imperfect victims like prisoners.
