It’s #fashionrevolutionweek ! Keep your favorite clothing longer by learning how to mend them at this local workshop! #Repost @sustainablecolumbus ・・・ Fashion Revolution Week is here! (April 21-29) when people are encouraged everywhere to shine the spotlight on the social and environmental impacts of the fashion industry by throwing and attending events that aim to bridge the gap between the fast fashion consumer mindset and the reality of where (and from whom) their clothes come from. With that in mind, I am really excited to invite everyone to Clothes Mending 101 at Brothers Drake Meadery on 04/29 from 6-8 pm, a basic sewing skills class that will leave all those in attendance empowered to keep their clothing in rotation for as long as they are able to fix them. You will learn to mend seams, fix holes, sew on buttons, hem, and throw patches on whatever you please. We will provide you with all materials to learn on site, but bring that torn sweater from the back of your closet because there'll be time at the end to apply what you've learned. You'll also receive a starter sewing kit to take home! So, come, tell your friends, drink some mead, learn something useful, and take ownership of your garments.
