watching   all   these   horror   movies   makes   me   wonder   if   sophie   will   survive   in   a   horror   film   &   what   she’ll   be   like   in   that   setting   :thinking:

she’s not good at comfort, no matter what the circumstance is. for the majority of her life, it’s just never been a thing… and she’s never really known how to give someone comfort either as a result. she never even thought of trying after the program, sure that it would be weak, would come back to bite her, so she kept her distance and kept all her own problems inside. no one helps me… so why should i help them, pretty much, aware everyone in the facility and later out in the life she lived had to fight their own battles - or at least, that was the way they were all made to think.

she doesn’t consider herself completely heartless, though, so when sophie seems to need some comfort, she decides to give it a try without even thinking at first, though the hope she doesn’t make things worse soon comes to mind. she moves to sit beside her friend and pulls her into an embrace, holding her close to her chest. she’s seen this in movies, and it always seemed to make the characters feel better, moving to gently rub her back as she’s also seen before. “sophie…” she’s unsure what to say, wonders if she should just shut up and wait for sophie to let her know what she needs, but she’s unsure if that’s the right thing to do or not.

“you… you don’t have to talk to me about this,” another thing from a movie, hating how the concept of comforting doesn’t come natural to her, even with someone she considers so dear. she presses her lips to her friend’s forehead and holds her tighter. “just… just know that i will be here for you, whether you want to speak about it or not. even if you just don’t want to talk right away… i’ll be here until you feel like doing so,” more things clumsily pieced together from films, though she means them genuinely. the next thing that comes out of her mouth is entirely satomi, though. “if someone’s responsible for how you feel right now… i will gladly tear them apart if that will make you feel better.”

𝐇𝐄    𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐒    𝐇𝐄𝐑.    𝐀    𝐋𝐎𝐓.                    not    just    for    a    helping    hand    regarding    his    wounds,    but    for    becoming    a    part    of    his    healing    process.    reminding    him    that    there    is    more    to    life    than    constant    war.    sebastian    thanks    whatever    god    is    there    as    she    aids    with    bandaging,    as    a    pink    shade    overwhelms    his    cheeks,    his    mask    just    barely    containing    it.    he    doesn’t    deserve    such    tender    care.    it’s    been    some    time    since    he’s    been    graced    with    anything    close    to    friendship.    let    alone    the    bond    they’ve    formed.

SOPHIE   DOESN’T   THINK   TOO   HIGHLY   of   herself   for   offering   him   a   hand.   it’s   what   any   person   should   do,   should   he   allow   it,   but   she   can   feel   how   grateful   he   is   all   the   same.   it’s   somewhat   a   strange   feeling   ;   being   on   the   receiving   end   of   his   endearment   because   she’s   treating   his   wounds   ---------   or   maybe   it’s   not   only   his   physical   scars   that   she’s   mending.   this   isn’t   her   job   ;   he’s   not   paying   her   to   do   this.   no,   she’s   doing   it   because   she   WANTS   to.   because   she   wants   to   keep   him   alive.   perhaps,   she’s   healing   him   on   the   inside,   too.   or,   well,   that’s   what   she’s   hoping   for.
