btw i have not logged anything abt me playing 1000xresist but i finished it recently (100% it today actually) and it absolutely destroyed me. ive got so many screenshots of so many good lines and even then there were some that i didnt screenshot bc i didnt have the foresight to then

definitely one of my favorite games ever. top 10 at least. even before i finished it this game and its sequences haunt me at night. im surprised it's only around 20 hours (i clocked in around 18 i think bc i kept getting lost in the orchard and making sure i talked to everyone for the achievement lmfao)

"The GM is the ultimate arbiter of the rules and can modify rules at will to suit their table" is a useful principle to have in mind and apply to your table on a personal basis, but it getting informally codified by the D&D community as the maxim of "Rule 0" has been a complete disaster for anyone who wants to publicly engage with tabletop rpgs on a game design level. No other single concept has been as destructive as it to the very existence of tabletop game design discussion.
