Photographers decide to use B&W when capturing their photos for varied reasons. When looking at picture in black and white, it enhances the vivid details in the photo. In the picture I used to show an example of black and white you can see each water droplet on the petals and every bump in the center of the flower. While looking at the colorful picture of the flower wet, you cannot see the water droplets as close as you can in the black and white picture. The use of black and white also gives a creative choice to use your imagination to think about what is going on in the picture. Another thing about black and white is that it can make the picture timeless and look like any time period especially the old/ modern period. Looking at black and white pictures is my favorite type to look at.

1. My name is Faith Stoothoff, a little fact about me is that i love to travel.

-This is a piece of folk art

-This artwork was made to express, Christianity and African American spirituals.

-This artwork was in the process of being built for over fourteen years.

-The sculpture was a testament to his religious visions particularly the book of revelations.

-On the left side of the artwork, it has objects that are related to the old testament, while on the right are objects based on the new testament.

3.When  first looked at the art, I had no idea of what I was even looking at. I didn't know any of the history or origin of the sculpture. Once I looked at the art and did some research on it I was then able to get a sense of it's origin and background. When I first looked at the artwork there were some things that I didn't se the first time. Once I actually looked at it piece by piece I saw items that explained the history of the art.
