WEEK 13
Knowledge
I have learned that there is tremendous amount of materials to be explored in every subject through this semester. What surprised me was the realization that each subject had different level of difficulty in terms of the materials and the assessments especially for first-semester students like me. Another thing that surprised me was the fact that learning does not necessarily mean to just acquire fact and memorize the theory part of the subject, but it is about critical thinking and applying knowledge. This was both positive and a difficult thing at the same time. On the one side, it helped me realize how the material that I was studying was applicable to the real- world situations. However, the process of learning and understanding the content and critical thinking was sometimes difficult and required more time commitment than I had anticipated.
Skills
In terms of skills i have learned how to find reliable sources from different websites using different techniques and evaluate materials effectively. With this knowledge I was able to find reliable sources for my assignments. However, I encountered challenges with time management. Balancing academic life with personal life was a bit challenging hindering my ability to finish my due assignments in some subjects. I realized the importance of time management and started planning beforehand and used assignments planners which reminded me of the due time. I am determined to improve this skill to better mange my personal and academic obligations.
Attitude.
One of the positive attitudes that I have developed through out this semester includes the ability to seek help from my teachers and peers. Moreover, I have learned to utilize the feedback and work on my weak points instead of getting angry. This attitude has helped me tremendously in my academic experience. On the downside, I realized that I need to work on my self- doubt. There have been times I lacked confidence for example during public speaking, where I tend to feel nervous hindering my ability to tackle some tasks. To overcome this issue, I am building my confidence to speak at public spaces which is crucial for both my personal and academic growth.

WEEK 11
Some of the things that I have done well during this semester includes completing my assignment on time, which indicated my effective time-management skills. Additionally, I have been careful and paying attention when doing my assignments and assessments which reflected in the excellent grades that I received for some subjects and satisfactory grades for other subjects. To improve on my assessments, I should concentrate on improving my editing and proofreading skills as well as my referencing. This includes checking my spelling and grammar mistakes. Moreover, I also need to make sure that all references are correctly formatted and cited according to APA 7 referencing style. I am experiencing a range of feeling about the assessment at this this stage of the semester. When I reflect on my performance, I feel proud of achieving high grades for subjects like principles of accounting, which is a result of putting a lot of effort into the subject. I feel inspired and motivated by this accomplishment. However, there is a little bit of tension to improve my grades on some subjects which I got satisfactory grades. To improve on that, I will work on my editing skills and referencing.

WEEK 9
The feedback that I have received from my teachers and classmates helped me to highlight my strengths and areas for improvement. I have actively welcomed and used comments from my instructors and peers throughout this semester. Writing assignments was one of the occasions where I used feedback. My teacher highlighted that there were some inconsistencies in my referencing. I used the remarks as an opportunity to improve on my referencing skills rather than brushing it off. I took the time to identify common errors in my reference which included leaving out information and utilized Holmesglen referencing guide. Additionally, the feedback also indicated that the paper may have been better if I had proofread my writing more carefully. To address this issue, I sought help from Holmesglen academic support resources to enhance my editing skills. This not only helped me to make specific improvements in my referencing and editing skills but also to fully utilize the resources available in Brightspace. In another situation, my accounting teacher emphasized that I needed to use Excel formulas more extensively in one of the assignments. I responded by putting n more effort to improve my Excel skills by practising and becoming proficient with the required formulas. I performed quite well and received good marks overall indicating a great improvement.

WEEK 7
Maintaining a balance between my university work and other obligations has been an ongoing process of growth. Setting clear goals and study plans are two strategies that worked for me. My primary goal is to set out specific time period for coursework which will help me progress gradually without feeling overwhelmed. By doing this I will also get the enough time to work on my other duties outside the university. When studying a demanding course, it is difficult to stay motivated. I have used a few ways to deal with this. The first approach that I have used is to take effective breaks by using pomodoro technique which not only did help me to stay concentrated by also to avoid burnout. Secondly, having positive attitude when faced with difficulty. I have learnt to view to challenges as a part of growth rather than a setback. For example, I am using the feedback from my lecturer to work on my formal writing by using the resources available on Brightspace, this will help me to improve on my academic writing and achieve my desired score. One of the main strategies I am working on right now is being mindful which will help me in to identify my weaknesses and improve on them. Looking forward, I might need to pay attention to Time management as it is one of my main issues am dealing with and my communication skills.

WEEK 5
What worked well included initial planning whereby we established clear roles and responsibilities for each team member. We distributed the work equally and everybody had a section to focus on. Among the four people in the group, one was to focus on the introduction part of the report, the other two were to focus on the body and lastly, I was assigned the task of writing the conclusion and the recommendations. One of the strategies we used to effectively increase our communication throughout the process of writing the report was creating a WhatsApp group. By doing this we were able to discuss our progress and address our problems, and every one of us was open to improvements and responsive to feedback. Even though our group cooperated very well, we faced some troubles. Time management was one of the major issues. We took a few steps to overcome this obstacle. Setting deadlines was one of them where everyone one of us was to submit their part of the work on a specific date so that the other parts of the report could be gathered together. Secondly, we established regular communication whereby we arranged meetings in the WhatsApp group to discuss the process, setbacks and updates to enhance the process of the report writing. One of the academic articles I found was called “Team quality and the success of innovative projects” which discussed the concept of collaboration in teams and mainly focused on communication, coordination, and lastly the balance of members contribution. Peer feedback was important in recognizing my potential for improvement as a group member. One of the main points was the need to proofread and edit which could have potentially improved the report. I use this feedback to work on editing and proofreading in my future writing assignments which will help me to refine the message and to accurately eliminate any misunderstanding.

WEEK 2
The first week was quite demanding for me as I arrived late at the university. All the students had already started their course material and were sitting for assessments in a weeks’ time. Missing the initial classes made me realise that I needed to put extra effort to understand the lectures and finish the assignments which were due, so that I could catch up. The fact that I had missed the introduction and the prior classes made it very difficult to understand the idea that was being presented in class. After realising that I could not handle the situation all by myself, I reached out to the head of the department of Accounting, Claire, for help. She assisted me in one of the subjects which had assessment by teaching the crucial materials of the sessions I missed. This made me confident to sit for my assessment and I scored well. Despite feeling lost in class initially, the help of the subject teachers helped me regain my confidence and I felt welcome to the new environment. For me to successfully navigate through the year I plan to create a structured semester assessment plan, keeping track of the deadliness and giving sufficient time for study using the RMIT planning guide.
