He’s able to distract himself throughout the day, inventing perfunctory tasks and avoiding people he runs into in town. But at night…at night, it feels like the hotel is smothering him, pressing the air out of his lungs.

He needs to get out.

He used to walk in New York sometimes, usually late at night, a zigzag across the avenues instead of calling an Uber after a hookup. Schitt’s Creek feels different. He’s never seen this many stars, to start, and the crickets are pounding in his skull. But he can breathe a little easier as he paces around the block, so he keeps walking.

decided i'm going to try to submit at least one more fic for frozen over fest but the deadline is tomorrow night lmao and i just realized that the minimum word count is 1500 where i was planning to write a nice little 1000 word fic....well we'll see if it happens!

starting a december drabble-a-day project! yes i am still reading and occasionally writing for this fandom! longer fics are not really coming to me rn as i have a lot going on but stand alone drabbles drive me nuts so we'll give this a go

every other month-long drabble project i've done i have started pre-writing them significantly in advance. this is the first time i wrote the first drabble on the first day of the month. hopefully in the next two weeks i'll be able to write ahead a little bit so i don't constantly feel the time pressure but yeah i just posted the first chapter so we are off to the races

i finished my april drabble project!! i had everything pre-written until the last week, and then my semester finished and i was able to finish everything up. much love to the people who literally write a drabble-a-day because i think i would lose my mind with the pressure, and i like being able to map things out and make connections looking at the whole thing at once so that even if the drabbles aren't explicitly connected they all clearly take place in the same timeframe/world.

cracking open some WIPs that i started two summers ago! we'll see if i get anywhere with them, i think i'm too reliant on stats as validation and at this point in the fandom's journey that is not really the path to success, having these benchmarks in my mind from 3 or 4 years ago. but writing nonetheless!

last year i had my entire drabble-a-day december fic prepped and ready but this year i am in grad school and writing a lot of papers and also just moved but i'm determined to do this! insanely the later ones (like the days closer to christmas) have been easier to write than the early ones but if i can get at least half pre-written before december 1 then we will be rockin and rollin
