One of us has to be the relaxed one, doesn’t he? I’m glad you’re not overworking yourself. Work never ends, unfortunately. I don’t see the point in resolutions, if you’re going to promise to improve on something, it should always be a work in progress. 

You’ll get your time in January, big bro. And I agree - staying in shape is something everyone should be trying to do all the time, but there’s a lot that think, oh. I’m gonna get a gym membership. And then by Easter I got no clue where they’re at.

   Winter always makes me think of how much work I still have to do, like this last-minute report my boss wants me to write. Everyone wants to get the crunch in before the holidays. Fortunately, I’m lucky enough that my job is relatively quiet.

December’s a chill month for me - January’s when stuff’s gonna hit the fan. Everyone’s resolutions are gonna put me on overdrive, bro.

Uh no, like Baltimore Maryland. It’s like a four hour train ride. Really dude? Alaska? 

I dunno man, I haven’t been around the country much. I thought of the dog.

I’ve never been to Baltimore. Where’s that? Alaska?

I just have a little one. Like it’s a foot tall and on my windowsill.  But it’s got lights and I didn’t have to put them in.

Heheh, that sounds like a New York Christmas to me.

Lights are always the best! When I was a kid, we used to drive around just. to. look at everyone’s decorations. My favorite is when you can see the christmas tree through the window. 

My dad used to take me and my brother to go pick out and chop down our own tree. It was a ton of fun.

Ha. Well, no promises that I can make it a habit, but you seem like you’d be a good trainer. You give off a good kind of energy, and it can be hard to come by that around here. Thank you. I’d say you’ve made my day a little better already.

Even if it doesn’t stick with you, it can give you some ideas. And thanks! If you ever need a pick-me-up or something I’m around.

Ha. You have so much to learn… but I’m sure I’ll be just the same once I have to scramble my way around some gym equipment. I can be patient with you, if you can be patient with me. 

I’m always patient, dude. Hyping people up’s half my job. Fitness is about motivation and I gotta make sure you keep it to get any results.

I’ll start you on the basics too. Step-ball-change. A couple grapevines. Maybe a simple waltz. I haven’t danced properly in so long, it’s hard to find a partner that’s happy to just explore, rather than wanting to perform all the time. 

I’mma be honest I only recognize one of those words and it’s the one I thought was attached to food.

We should do a trade off sometime. You put me through my paces in the gym, and I’ll try teaching you to dance. I’m a good partner, all you need is a little rhythm. 

That could be a lot of fun! I’d start you low since you haven’t done that much. At least, with weights. I don’t have much rhythm though, so you might do better than me ahah.

Oh, you train people? That’s cool. I wish I had the time for the gym and stuff. I like to run in the mornings, and I used to take a couple dance classes. 

Yeah! Five days a week. I have an instagram too that’s like, wellness and stuff. I get paid pretty good by sponsors. 

You got that on me though. I can’t dance at all. I probably look like I got a broken leg when I try.

I’m sure it’s nothing compared to what you’ve been through. Talk about putting my little complaint into perspective, wow. Huge respect to you. Hope you’re doing okay!

Aye, keep in mind I signed up. I wanted to get myself out there - to serve. I liked being out there and helping people. There’s nothing to complain about if you like what you’re doing. 

I’m doing great though! Using what I learned there to help people get into shape.

Ooh, a military guy. Pretty much worlds away from me, I work in a diner and I need coffee to get through the night shift. But it’s cool that you could quit! I’m always tired. 

Yeah! Finished my last tour this year. 

I can get that, though. I’ve never worked that kinda job before so I dunno how hard it is, but if it gets you through I can’t talk too much crap.
