Bonnano Family Captains Antonio Tomasulo AKA Bootsie & Anthony Rabito AKA Fat Tony Tomasulo was primarily known for his Joker Poker empire..& when he passed from natural causes..his son Anthony assumed he would take over ..but Bonnano Family Underboss turned government witness Salvatore Vitale AKA Good Looking Sal had other plans & told him his father's rackets were Bonnano Family property..Anthony was a livid ..& he let people know about it..even stating that he was planning to ask then Genovese Family Boss Vincent Gigante to intervene..& when Vitale heard that..he consulted with then Bonnano acting Boss Anthony Spero..who reccomended that Vitale kill him..& sometime in 1990 Anthony Tomasulo disappeared & was presumed dead. Rabito was known for drug trafficking & the usual mob rackets gambling & loansharking..& after the heavy government crackdown on the Bonannos from early 2000s on..Rabito was named acting Consilgerie for as time Both Tomasulo & Rabito were Greenpoint Brooklyn natives like myself... Rabitos HQ was Bamontes Restaurant..one of my personal favorites in the hood...thats been used a location for The Sopranos a couple times..which is one of the reasons I'm into researching the Bonannos. As well as getting to know a few Bonnanos from the neighborhood &Mulberry St over the years..which can be helpful. Pre LCN NYC mob bosses Salvatore Lucania AKA Charles Lucky Luciano( middle) Ciro Terranova AKA Artichoke King & Chicago Outfit Boss Alphonse Al Capone & Francisco Costiglia AKA Frank Costello. These photos were taken at Capones Miami mansion circa mid 1920s..all 4 had come up in NYC & had been members of Paolo Vacarelli AKA Paul Kelly's Five Points Gang..along with Capones mentor in Chicago & former Brooklyn rackets Boss Francesco Uale AKA Frankie Yale. At the time of these iconic photos..Capone was the powerful of the group..he was at the peak of his powers.by the time Luciano & Costello would go on to form LCN & the Luciano Family..with Costello as Consilgerie & later boss after Lucianos deportation to Sicily circa early 1930s..Capone would be nearing the end of his days as the United States most powerful gangster & would get locked up on tax evasion..never to return to Chicago Most tragic of all would be Terranovas story..Already on the downside of his mob career..he had been the driver on the hit on Guissepe Masseria AKA Joe The Boss..& lost his nerves & fumbled for the keys when after killing Masseria the gunmen returned to the car..& allegedly shooter Benjamin Siegel AKA Bugsy pushed him into the passenger seat & took over When word of this got out Terranovas reputation took a huge hit..& by 1937 he had been kicked out of the rackets & was borrowing money to survive..& in 1938 suffered a stroke & died at age 49. I wonder if this day at Capones mansion was one of the last good times they had together before the treachery of life in the mob took over all their lives in one way or another.. Former Kansas City LCN soldiers Anthony Brancato & Anthony Trombino..known as The Two Tonys.... relocated to Los Angeles early 1950s figuring they could make an easy living knocking of local wiseguys rackets..they were wrong.. They were executed by Los Angeles LCN soldiers Angelo Pollina & Aldena Frattiano AKA Jimmy The Weasel.. Frattiano later became acting boss & one of the most famous rats in LCN history..he admitted to his involvement in the Two Tony's hit. Founder of modern LCN &former Luciano/Genovese Family boss Salvatore Lucania AKA Charles Lucky Luciano( left) & former Genovese Family Captain Pasquale Eboli AKA Tommy Ryan in Sicily circa late 1950s These photos were taken during one of Eboli's frequent trips to Italy & Sicily during which he brought Luciano his monthly stipend from NYC LCN. .but by the late 1950s things were changing in NYC & the new men in power didn't feel the closeness respect towards Luciano that their predecessors did..& the amount given monthly to him reflected that..it allegedly went from $25K a month the 1st few years of Lucianos exile down to as low $1500 a month. The fact is what probably caused Luciano to enter negotiations to sell his life story..which did not make the bosses in NYC happy ..One thing I find interesting is that some people still want to believe that Luciano was part of a huge heroin trafficking conspiracy in his later years despite the fact that IF Luciano WAS involved in anything close to that..the LAST thing he would have done is call attention to himself by meeting with writers to talk about his potential autobiography..& there's also the fact that Luciano was under almost 24hr a day surveillance by the FBN ..the Federal Bureau of Narcotics..the predecessor to today's DEA..who pushed the narrative that Luciano was an international heroin Kingpin to continue getting funding & there's the fact that the head of FBN Charles Siragusa was definitely obsessed with Luciano as well as by Sicilian law enforcement..at one point Luciano tried to open a small candy manufacturing company & after he had a warehouse full of product ready to be shipped out..local law enforcement showed up & basically tore open every last box of candy looking for narcotics & not finding any..& of course not reimbursing Luciano or his investors..thats just one example of the nonstop police harassment that Luciano was going thru his last few yrs. Last but not least I doubt very much that any significant drug traffickers would go anywhere near a well known cop magnet like Luciano...much less do regular business with him..altho I could imagine he may have made a few bucks putting people together. Former Cuban President Fulgencio Battista (left) & American LCN co founder & most powerful Jewish Organized Crime Boss in United States history Meyer Lansky ..photos such as this..of American gangsters having dinner with the Cuban President are what inspired Fidel Castros Communist rebels to eventually overthrow Battista & kick the mob off the island. Lansky & fellow mobsters such as Albert Anastasia & Florida LCN Boss Santo Trafficante were able to thoroughly currupt pre Castro Cuba & had full control of Cuban gambling& casinos until 1959 when Communist rebel Fidel Castro was able to force out Battista. The United States CIA tried to enlist members of the American Mafia to try to overthrow Castro several times during the 1960s ..promising LCN full control of Cuba's organized crime again in return..but we're never able to do it. The Communist government Castro put in place remains until this day. (at Absolute Power Fitness) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9xETI_AOHW/?igshid=9tumg5nvcp2y

Former Bonnano Family Captain Cesare Bonaventure AKA The Tall Guy(left) & his cousin Bonnano Family Captain Baldassare Amato AKA Baldo Circa 1980s Bonaventure & Amato were Sicilian nationals..nicknamed. Zips by American Mafia members..were the former bodyguards of former Sicilian wannabe Boss on the day he was assassinated in 1979 at a Brooklyn restaurant..& not only were they unharmed..witnesses saw them walk out with the shooters..& ballistic tests later showed that Bonaventure & Amato more than likely pumped a couple of shots into Galantes themselves. As a reward for his treachery towards his old boss Bonaventure was made a captain by the Bonnanos not long afterwards..making him the youngest captain in Bonnano Family history. Amato was made around the same time & became a captain later on. Bonaventures luck didn't last..& after siding with Bonnano Family captain Alphonse Indelicato AKA Sonny Red..captain Philip Giaccone AKA Lucky & captain Dominick Trinchera AKA Big Trim..the infamous 3 Captains..that were taken out by their rival future Bonnano Family boss turned government witness Joe Massino in a notorious hit in 1981..Bonaventure was taken out himself by Bonnanos Frank Lino AKA Curly & Louis Anastasio AKA Haha in 1984..btw it's also likely that Bonaventures well known disrespect for American wiseguys & his treachery towards his old boss were factors in Bonaventures assassination as well. Amato was convicted of murder in 1992 & is currently serving a life sentence. (at Greenpoint, Brooklyn) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9mgmYHF_IP/?igshid=xlbp9g2n7bst

The e New England LCN Patriarca Family members & 1 associate who were framby FBI Agent H Paul Rico(top right) in the 1960s. Patriarca Family members Henry Tameleo..Louis Greco ..Peter Limone & associate Joseph Salvati(left) all had one thing in common They were enemies of former Patriarca Family associate & FBI Confidential Informant Joseph Barboza AKA The Animal(right middle) Barboza & his partner in crime & fellow FBI Confidential Informant Vincent Flemmi AKA The Bear(right bottom) murdered a low level Boston hood named Teddy Deegan & then conspired with their FBI handler the currupt Agent Rico to frame the four Patriarca wiseguys. Barboza testified in open court that the four mobsters had killed Deegan..NOT him & Flemmi..& despite the fact that all four had alibi & none had any reason to kill the lowly Deegan..unlike Barboza & Flemmi..ALL four were wrongfully convicted & sentenced to life. Barboza & Flemmi didn't last too long afterwards..Barboza was killed by future Patriarca Family Boss JR Russo in San Francisco while in WitSec in 1976..& Flemmi overdosed in Prison in 1969. Tameleo was the 1st to die in Prison in 1982..followed by Greco in 1995..neither saw the light of day again..but Limone & Salvati were finally exonerated & released..Salvati in 1997 & Limone in 2001. Agent Rico..who was indicted for murder in 2003 for helping Boston gangsters James Bulger AKA Whitey & Stephen Flemmi..brother of Vincent..for plotting with them to kill executive Roger Wheeler..was questioned about framing Tameleo Greco Limone & Salvati..& replied.." Whattya want from me..tears.??" Luckily for Rico he passed away in 2004 before he could be tried & convicted As far as the four wrongfully comment..Limlne & Salvati & the surviving family members of Tameleo & Greco recieved a huge settlement from the Federal Government ..over 100 million altogether.. In an ironic twist to this story Peter Limone..aftrr spending 33 yrs in Prison for a crime he didn't commit..went on to become The Patriarca Family Boss from 2009 until his death in 2016. In my opinion that's the craziest part of this insane story. (at Greenpoint, Brooklyn) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9k2yH4FllO/?igshid=sr40456rcb7m

Former Genovese Family Consilgerie Louis Manna AKA Bobby(left) & Pennsylvania LCN Boss Russell Bufalino AKA McGee Surveillance photo. Circa 1970s-80s Manna is currently serving a life sentence for conspiracy to murder former Gambino Family Boss John Gotti & his brother Gambino Captain Gene Gotti. Even tho Bufalino was the boss of a fairly small family he was very well respected & had close ties to both Buffalo LCN & The Bonnano Family..& was allegedly so close & so well respected that he served as acting Boss for the Genovese Family for a time in the 1970s when the Genoveses were going thru a period of internal strife..which would account for his appearance in Genovese territory in NYCs Greenwich Village & meeting with Manna. Recently Bufalino was portrayed by actor Joe Pecsci.in Scorceses movie The Irishman..in my opinion the movie..while extremely well acted..had way too many historical inaccuracies to be considered very factual..it was great entertainment..& Pecsci's portrayal of Bufalino was spot on according to law enforcement types who had encountered him.
