I don't really like to post negativity here but these tags I saw on a post were what made me write that whole mithrun post and why I can't stop thinking about it

Most of the jokes don't really get to this level of ableism and I don't mean that whoever wrote this is a monster but this is how joking about ableist things can end up in "real" ableism (I'd argue the jokes are already ableist enough tbh)

I know ableism isn't quite as talked about as racism especially in fandom, since having disabled characters is already super rare, but please be aware of how your internalized ableism might impact how you think and how you joke about certain characters, don't be mad that a joke you made was "taken too seriously" or that you felt unjustly called out by something you don't perceive as a big deal. Just take a moment to reflect about why some people say it was inappropriate even if you think its not.

While children around the world are waking up to the comfort of their homes, these children are waking up to the sounds of bombs instead of birds. Here, we have nieces and nephews. 3 of them are newborns born during the genocide. They all took their first steps in a tent.

Typically, as soon as a baby enters the world, the family celebrates. my family was happy but simultaneously terrified. Terrified because they are met with a terrifying present and an unknown future.

The sounds that surround them daily are the sounds of bombs and drones, as well as the sounds of people screaming, wailing over the loss of their loved ones and the screams of those who are fleeing, rushing to a place of safety which does not exist

The smells that surround them are that of blood and corpses and burning flesh, instead of the scent of their favourite sweet treats, the scent of their mother's roses planted beautifully in their yard.

The scenery that surrounds them is the scenery of bombs falling on them as they look at the sky, their scenery of rubble and shattered memories, their eyes meeting the bodies and blood of martyrs scattered along the road, as if it were something natural. He may wonder: “Am I next?”

My family has 8 children under 16 years old. These kids aren't living their lives, they're just living.

Darkness and death surround them around every corner. But you can be their light by sharing this campaign and donating, even if it's a small amount. We pin our hopes on the free people of the world to support us.

there are not enough words to describe how much mithrun means to me. there is something wonderful about a character who has to rediscover themselves after having their sense of identity stripped away from them except for one thing that they have for their reason to keep going.

as someone who was in a similar position, mithrun's journey means a lot to me. someone who acted on a desire that, at least in the short term, provided some semblance of direction but would inevitably burn out in the long run. desiring revenge wasn't sustainable, yet it was the only thing that kept mithrun going. because that was all he had left of his identity.

but in the end, when mithrun realized that he wanted to do something else? that he wanted to live? i cried so hard.

the idea of actor au dunmeshi is actually horrifying because imagine being the guy who plays senshi. imagine having your big break as the dwarven chef who helped solve the dungeon problem and the director tells you to spread your legs a bit more when you fall so they can get a pantyshot of your cock and balls

me (tired, walking back to car from airport): i'm kinda hungry but ehhh, i'll just wait til i get home. no need spending money when i have food at home i can cook. besides, i ate well this past week, i can afford to skip just one meal.

the senshi that lives in the shared singular brain cell of every dungeon meshi fan: it's been nearly 6 hours since you last ate, and it'll take at least another hour and a half for you to get home. if you wait that long to eat, you'll get sick with hunger!

me: hmmm, yeah. i think i've got a baggie with like a handful of crisps at the bottom of my backpack. and a few pieces of candy in my purse. i could probably eat those to tide me over?

self care senshi: that's no good, you need way more than that. you can afford to pay for a restaurant; you CAN'T afford to risk putting yourself and everyone else out there in danger by driving while distracted by hunger.

me: you're right... i'll find a diner nearby to stop at.

(also the diner food was good + when i sat down to eat i realized i was starting to get a hunger headache that could have progressed into a migraine if i left it unmanaged. thank you imaginary senshi.)
