Moral of the Story. Masterlist.

Series Summary: From childhood friends, to highschool sweethearts, the two naive, young, and lovestruck teens decided the best way to keep a strong relationship during college would be to marry right out of highschool. No one batted an eye at the idea as everyone knew they were soulmates. However, college is a big step in a person’s life. You learn new things about yourself, you make new friends, find new hobbies… And maybe being newly weds and going to different colleges across the states wasn’t the best plan… After a falling out, a tragic and heartbreaking divorce, the two now despise the other for how the whole thing was handled. Neither not really knowing both sides of the story. 10 years later, and they both get a call from the lawyers office that settled their divorce. Somehow the papers never went through and the divorce was never completed. So now, the exes, or should we say husband and wife, have to meet back up after all these years to settle their failed marriage once and for all. (This summary will be shorter in other chapters. I just needed to get the full concept out there;)

A/N: So the other day while I was doing my hair (quite the process), I was playing music and the song Moral of the Story by Ashe came on. Mind you, I’ve heard this song hundreds of times, but for some reason, this time I got a major story idea! Listening to the lyrics brought me to this new series. Of course, the lengthy summary above will give you an idea of what came to my brain, but I recommend you listen to the song still because it plays a big part in my thought process:) (Plus it’s a good song;) Enjoy and please do not hesitate to share your thoughts and comments with me! “And that’s how you do it! Super Sonic Punch babbbyyy!!!”

“Can you be any louder?” Caitlin looks over at Cisco but he doesn’t listen as he continues cheering and soon you join in because why not? The Flash just took down two meta humans in one punch.

Speaking of the Flash, he soon speeds in in a huff. “Hey guys!”

Both you and Cisco runs over to him as he takes off his mask, seeing Barry’s grin makes you smile even more.

“Dude, that was sick! I mean, it was awesome punching one guy but you punched TWO and knocked BOTH of them out. I mean, how crazy is that am I right Y/N? It was just insane.” Cisco rambles.

You look up at Barry and smile. “It was pretty awesome.” You say and Barry smiles.

“Yeah, it may look awesome but it hurts like a bitch.” Barry groans as he holds onto his right hand. Caitlin comes over to run some scans over Barry’s hand.

“Well, lucky for you that you heal easy so give it an hour and you’ll be back to your normal self.” Caitlin says and he gives her a thanks.

While you stood off watching, you feel Cisco give you a little nudge. “So, have you talked to him yet?” He ask and you feel yourself blushing.

“Um..I um, haven’t talked to him yet..” You say softly and Cisco looks at you in confusion.

“Seriously? Y/N, it’s been over three months already, just talk to the man.” Cisco says but you shake your head.

“Nuh huh, no way Cisco.” You say, walking over to your desk with Cisco right behind you.

“Come on Y/N, how long are you going to be a love-sick puppy. It’s Barry for god sake, the worst thing take could happen is him saying no.” Cisco folds his arms as you turn and look at him.

“First off, I’m not a love-sick puppy, I think that title would go to you.” You state and Cisco gasp, placing a hand over his chest as you continues. “And yes, that’s the worst thing that could happen. I don’t want to get rejected by one of my friend’s and it’ll become awkward. I like my job here.” You say.

You’ve been working for S.T.A.R labs since the very beginning, being lucky enough to put your tech skills to use. Even after the Particular Accelerator explosion you still stuck around because honestly, no other place would of needed your skills. Plus, Caitlin and Cisco were your friends.

Once S.T.A.R labs took Barry Allen in and started training him as the Flash, you friendship with everyone became much stronger but you felt a little something extra with Barry. At first you weren’t sure about your little crush on him because he was trying so hard to get Iris attention that you decided to put a lid on your feelings for him. It wasn’t until Iris lost Eddie and Barry gave up on saving his mother as well as fighting Wells that changed him

You’ve notice a change in Barry when it came towards Iris. They were still close but Barry wasn’t trying to go after her so you took the changes to let your feelings flow freely. At least a little, both Cisco and Caitlin notice your crush on Barry but him.

While Caitlin goes to get more gauze for Barry, Cisco pushes you towards him as he sits, looking over his hand.

You look back, seeing Cisco and now Caitlin giving you the thumbs up. You take a deep breath before walking in, “So, how’s your hand?” You ask, getting Barry’s attention.

“Uh, it’s alright. It pays to heal fast.” He says with a smile, standing up. You chew on your lower lip nervously before speakings.

“Well, if that’s the case then you should come out tonight at Jitters.” You say. “They’re hosting trivia and I was wondering if you wanted to go?” You ask, feeling your cheeks burning from how red they are getting and it only get worst as Barry just sits there in silence. “Unless you have other plans, which is totally cool. I wouldn’t want to get in the way of your plans.” You ramble.

Barry chuckles. “Okay, okay I’ll go tonight.” He says with a smile, one that made your little heart beat.

“You serious?”

Barry nods his head again. “Yeah, I’ll need to go home and change but I’ll defiantly be there.”

You can’t help but smile. “Okay, awesome. Well, I’ll see you later tonight.” You turn quickly and walk out the room, trying to keep yourself from skipping.

You left S.T.A.R labs early because you need to pick out the prefect outfit to wear tonight for “date” tonight with Barry.

‘See Y/N, it wasn’t that hard now was it?’ You think to yourself once you’re out of the shower and getting ready.

You decide to wear something flattering for your figure and you had to admit, black did look good on you so you go for a black pencil skirt and a black top and heels. Applying on red lipstick to give the outfit that pop.

You check your reflection once more before heading out. “Look out Barry Allen because here I come!”

When you make it to Jitters you realize that you’re a couple of minutes early so you order some tea for yourself and find a spot while you wait. You were playing on your phone so you didn’t notice Barry coming in. With Iris right with him.

“Hey Y/N!” Iris says with a smile, coming over to give you a hug. “Wow, you look stunning.” She says and you just give her a smile.

“She’s right, you look really good Y/N.” Barry says, hugging you a hug as well.

“T-Thank you.” You say quickly while you all take your seats. “Sorry that we’re late, it was taking Iris forever to get ready.” Barry says, looking at Iris who just shrugs her shoulders.

“Sorry, I didn’t know that we all had plans tonight. I would been ready sooner.” She says. “Speaking of which, where’s Caitlin and Cisco?” She ask.

You were to focused on watching Barry gaze fondly at Iris and your own hopes being crushed to catch her question. “Huh?” You ask.

Iris raises an eyebrow at you for moment. “Cisco? Caitlin? Aren’t they coming too?” She ask.

‘Oh crap..this is bad! If they find out that this was suppose to be a date between Barry and I then I’ll just die of embarrassment!!’ You think, pulling out your phone.

“Let me go give them a call to see where they are.” You say with a quick smile before getting up and walking a far enough space so your out of ear shot.

After a couple of rings, Cisco finally picks up. “Hello, Cisco speaking!”

“Cisco! I need your help ASAP!” You say.

“Why? What’s going on? Are you in trouble? Is Barry in trouble?” Cisco ask.

“No, worst..” You say, looking over to see Barry and Iris laughing at something Barr said. “I think I screwed up. I need you and Caitlin down here at Jitters quickly.” You don’t give Cisco time to reply before you end the call and walk back over. “They’re on their way.”

As you sat there across from Barry and Iris you couldn’t help but beat yourself up. You didn’t make it clear enough that you just wanted it to be you and Barry, and what sucks more is the fact the mostly everyone here at Jitters is in pairs while you look like the third wheel.

Soon, Caitlin and Cisco show up, a little confused but they read the mood you were giving off quickly. And that they’re both here, you look like a fifth wheel.

‘This blows..’ You think to yourself, needing to get out of here. You quickly check your phone before standing up, coming up with an idea.

Barry notices and speaks up. “Everything alright Y/N?” He ask.

“Um..I ah..no actually my neighbor just texted me and..my cat got out? Yeah, my cat got out so I need to go home and make sure everything is okay.” You say, watching as Barry is about to get up. “Then I’ll take you home.” He says but you stop him.

“No it’s fine really, I took a cab so it’s all good.” You say, needing to leave. “Have fun tonight guys.” You wave before power walking out of Jitters, leaving your friends confused.

Soon, you’re walking down the streets of Central City, kicking yourself for leaving like that.

‘Now they’re defiantly going to know something was up..’ you think to yourself before you come to realize that you don’t really want to go home alone and drown yourself in self-pity. So you decide to go to a bar where their are other people there drinking their problems away.

You go to a bar a couple of minutes away from Jitters and head inside, seeing that it has a little crowd but still enough room for you to sit up at the bar and so you do.

It doesn’t take long for you to get a buzz going after you sixth drink. A couple of guys would come up to talk to you but you just shooed them off but their was one group who wouldn’t take the hint as they continue sending drinks over but you just send them right back.

You finish off another glass of coke and rum when you feel a tap on your shoulder. You sigh loudly before turning in your seat, ready to give what ever guy came up to you a piece of your mind but you stop when you notice the familiar face.

“Snart.”

Leonard Snart gives you one of his famous smirks. “Surprised?” He ask before taking a seat next to you.

“Well, a little since the last time I’ve seen you, you were being handcuff and tossed in the back of a police car.” You say while Leonard orders himself a drink. “Make it ice cold.” He states before turning his attention back to you while you shake your head.

“What?” He ask.

“It’s just, never mind.” You say with a light chuckle, thinking about how much Leonard Snart actually plays into his alias, Captain Cold.

“So, what brings you to this side of town? I figured you’d be at some science gallery or playing cops and robbers with ol’ Scoopy Doo and the gang.” He says, the sarcasm not lost.

You roll your eyes, taking a sip of your drink. “Not all geeks enjoy science Snart.” You say before asking. “I just needed to go out and have a drink, plus I’m dressed pretty well to be here.”

Snart glances at you, his eye darting over your body for speaking. “Can’t argue with that.” He says, taking a sip of his drink.

You feel a faint blush form on your cheeks, watching as Snart takes a sip of his drink while you take the time to look over him. Seeing that he’s ditched the blue parka for a black business jacket with black pants and shoes.

“And what about you? You look like you’re dressed up for something important.” You say while Snart shrugs.

“I had some business to take care of here.” He states before turning in his chair a bit, facing you. “So, how’s being Barry’s sidekick?” He ask.

You put your drink down. “We go through this every time Snart, I am not Barry’s sidekick.” You say. “Matter of fact, I don’t think I’ll be working at S.T.A.R labs for much longer.” You confess.

“Oh? And why’s that?” Leonard ask. “Is being the good guy becoming to boring for you?” He states sarcastically.

You sigh, shaking your head before you unleash all your pint up frustration and once you started, you couldn’t stop. And Leonard was a good sport, he didn’t interrupt or made any of his usual snarky remarks.

“And so here I am. Alone, sad, and now confiding in a criminal.” You say, finishing off your drink, ready to order another one.

“Sounds to me like you need a new change of scenery.” Snart says as he gets up, motioning for you to follow him for some reason, you do.

“Should you have paid for you drink?” You ask once you’re both outside of the bar and Snart starts walking.

“Nah, I normally don’t pay for anything.” He says, purposely bumping into a man. “Excuse you.” Snart says as he continues walking and see him putting the mans wallet into the pockets of his jacket.

“Give me that.” You, quickly snatching the wallet away from Snart before rushing over to the man and giving it back.

“Wow, you’re no fun.” Leonard says once you make it back over. “If I’m going to hangout with you then you’re not going to steal anything from anyone.” You say. 

“I didn’t know we were hanging out.” Snart say.

You look at him. “Back at the bar, you said that we’ll hangout.”

“Did I?” He ask sarcastically before shoving his hands in his pocket and being walking once more.

You groan to yourself before following behind him. For most of the time, you’re both just walking and talking where you learn a little bit more about Leonard Snart. At some point, Snart lens you his jacket to wear since it was getting a bit chilly.

It wasn’t until you both stop outside of a mini-mart. “Be right back.” Snart says before walking inside, not waiting for you respond. You lean against the walk and wait, taking off your heels to give your feet time to relax.

You were to focus on rubbing the bottom of your feet to notice the group of guys coming up to you.

“Well hello there beautiful. What are you doing out all alone?” One ask, the smell of liquor and Old Spice makes you gag a little. You ignore him, crossing your arms and looking away, hoping the Leonard hurries up.

Instead of taking the hint, the guy seemed to get piss from you ignoring him and what made it worse was his four little friends behind him, hyping him up.

“I think that’s the same chick from the bar earlier.”

“Oh yeah, defiantly her.”

“Wasn’t she the one who kept sending back out drinks?”

“Yeah, I think so boss.”

Their leader step forward towards you before grabbing a hold of your arm. “I spent a lot of money on those drinks and you just blew them off.” He says as you try to tug out of his grip.

“Just because you buy a girl a drink doesn’t mean she owes you anything, creep.” You say through clench teeth but he only tightens his grip, causing you to wince.

You soon feel a hand wrapping around your waist and you being pulled back into a tall figure. “If I were you, I’d keep my hands to myself before something bad happens.”

You look, seeing Leonard standing, holding you close to him. “Snart..”

“I’m gone for five minutes and even then you can’t seem to stay out of trouble.” He says, causing you to roll your eyes.

“This wouldn’t of happen if you didn’t have to stop here.” You say, narrowing your eyes.

“I had to handle something.” He simply replies, causing you to sigh to yourself. The group of guys standing in front of you watch for a moment before their leader clenches his fist.

“Listen here old man, the problem is between me and girl so why don’t you run alone.” He says.

You feel Snart’s grip around your waist tightens for a moment. “I don’t think you understand kid, this is my city so I suggest you get lost before things get ugly.” Snart replies calmly, loosing his grip before moving you slowly behind him and you notice he doesn’t have his cold gun.

Soon, the group charge at Snart but he dodges their fist, landing a few in before knocking down the last one quickly.

“Awesome..” You say in awe at how quickly he took them out with his bare hands, but that’s soon short lived when you hear sirens.

“Come on.” Snart grabs you hand, pulling you along as he runs, cutting corners and through an alleyway before coming to a stop.

“I think we’re good here for now.” He says, huffing a little. You lean back against the brick wall, trying to catch your breath. “Feeling alive yet kid?” Snart ask with a smirk and you soon find yourself smiling.

“Defiantly.” You reply. “I mean, the way you took out those guys was crazy. Right hook, left hook. They didn’t even see it com-” Before you could finish your sentence, you feel Leonard’s lips pressed against yours passionately, his hands cuffing your face.

Maybe it was the liquor you drank earlier or the adrenaline going through you from running away from the cop, whatever it was, you were kissing Leonard Snart back, wrapping your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss, which earned you having him pressing his body against yours, leaving you wedge between the brick wall and him.

You don’t know who did it first before you soon feel his tongue moving over yours, causing you to moan against his lips. He continues going, one of his hands moving down to your leg, pulling it up and around his waist while his other hand is holding both your wrist above your head.

You huff to yourself. ‘Why would he wait to ask me now when I was so close..?’ You think to yourself, hating how badly you want Leonard even more than before. ‘Maybe this could be my chance to start over somewhere new..with the rogues?’ You think more before nodding your head.

“Okay.”

“Okay what?” He ask.

You’re silent for a moment but Leonard moves his fingers again, causing you to moan. “I’ll join you.” You say panting, seeing Snart gaze turn from serious to lust. Soon, he starts moving his fingers again, this time faster and he’s forced to keep his mouth on yours to keep you loud moans under control when you came.

“Welcome to the rogues Y/N.” He whispers in your ear as you come down from your orgasm.

A week after that you’ve already packed up your things from S.T.A.R labs. “Is it because of your feelings towards me?” Barry asked on your last day there and for a moment you think before replying.

“Did my feelings for you play a part in this? Yes but then I realized that I’m doing this for me. It’s time for me to move on with my life and start a new adventure.” You said before you said your good-byes and left.

Since you’ve joined the rogues, you figured you’d be getting some action like going on heist but Leonard made it clear that he didn’t want you in the field. “It’s too dangerous for you.” He said one night while you were laying in his bed.

“That’s not fair, I don’t want to be stuck in front of a computer every time you guys go out.” You say, sitting up and leaning your back against the bed headboard.

“I’d rather have you sitting and typing away on a computer then have you get hurt out there.” He says, coming over to the bed after changing, handing you a shirt to change into as well. “It’s already bad enough I have to worry about Lisa being out there with me. If you started coming along then I know that my main focus is going to be on you and making sure you don’t get hurt.” He says, laying back with his hands resting behind his head.

You sit there for a moment, seeing Snart closing his eyes. You can’t help but smile. “Awe Lenny, don’t tell me you love me?” You ask, a teasing smirk on your face.

Snart quickly opens his eyes. “I do not.” He states but you continue going, poking his cheek. “You love me don’t you Lenny?” You ask again as he sits up.

“I love money and shiny things.” He states firmly, crossing his arms over his chest. You grin, even though he has an annoyed look on his face the shade of red his ears turned let you know exactly how he’s truly feeling.

You lean into him, wrapping your arms around his neck before kissing him gently on the lips.

“It’s okay, I love you too.” You whisper softly before he cuffs your face, returning the kiss and then some.
