Oh ANOTHER thing I did as a kid was, my parents decided the one best way to punish me was to take away my videogames and put the important cables etc in the computer room and lock the deadbolt on it. And of course, because I had ADHD and no one including me knew, I immediately lasered in on the solution, which was a multi part challenge. My dad was a carpenter and in spite of him trying to teach me things I didn't care about at the time, I learned some of it in spite of myself, so I proceeded to get a tape measure, a hand saw, and a wooden shim (a long thin narrow piece of wood) and went forward with my plan. I measured the deadbolt to the gap under the door, then I cut the shim to that exact length, then I grabbed a small plastic mirror out of a junk drawer, and with those two items I popped the deadbolt by slipping both under the door and flipping the shim up to the latch using the mirror to guide me. I remember getting in a lot of trouble at the time for it but I recently brought it up to my dad and unprompted he said "that was so fucking cool but I couldn't tell you that". My point is sometimes you are loved and sometimes it's always, even in spite of yourself, so be nice to yourself if you can help it.

With Gravity Falls trending again thanks to The Book of Bill, I figured it would be a good time to post this piece that I did for the Gravity Falls: 10 years later zine (a fan book that was released in 2022 for the show's tenth anniversary); I think I posted a teaser for it before but never posted the full work later ^^'

The scene is supposed to take place at some point after the show ends; maybe a couple years later? The grunkles take Dipper and Mabel on a short trip on the Stan o' war II and just so happen to discover a new creature species - an adorable cat/octopus hybrid. Of course, Mabel can't resist giving it hugs, and Dipper is about to take a few photos of the little cattopus - right before its angered momma appears from the depths of the sea.

Amal and her family have lost their home, and been displaced multiple times due to bombing. Currently Amal is doing her best to care for her daughter, and to save money in order to evacuate herself, her husband, and her daughter from Gaza.

Right now, Amal desperately needs money in order to feed her family, buy diapers and milk for her daughter, and pay rent for where her family is staying. Maryam is at risk of serious malnutrition unless Amal can get baby food and milk for her. Amal does not have any income other than this fundraiser right now, as she is unable to work due to the ongoing genocide. She needs ~$5,000 dollars just to survive each month, and even more to evacuate.

Do you ever get reminded of that one really intense longfic that you had every intention of writing and had meticulous notes and complicated outlines for but then something happened and you aren't in the fandom anymore and you still have the desire to write the fic but it's slightly hollow now because it's a good idea and you think it would have been a great fic but you haven't been in the fandom for literally years and you don't have that bit of passion for it that you did when you were writing it and have just a weird moment of nostalgia where you want to reread it but it never existed
