A year ago today was supposed to be my last day on Earth, at least according to the books... I like to say all 4 limbs because that's easier than saying what I truly went through. I cover up a lot of trauma that I've been through in my life. It makes it easier than saying the whole story, but I'm the only one with the ability to say the details of what truly happened. Left compound ankle fracture With a talus break Right compound fracture Right wrist broken Left wrist essentially obliterated 😅 plus pinky, forefinger and other carpel breaks Right eye socket crushed All Left side ribs broken Internal bleeding And other complications But somehow I made it. As the man who pulled me out of the car says to me "you're a fighter" I really must be. I fight for everyone and everything in life. I'm learning this year what battles are worth fighting for. I'm also learning where the value of me as an entity on this earth is. I'm so thankful for my unbelievable amount of support, love, and community. I feel like a stronger woman everyday I'm so thankful you can all see this journey I'm thankful that I'm defying all odds. Hiking already and doing so much more physically than the average person. Letting Go $20 2020 8 x 11" A simple emotional piece about letting go fully to what doesn't serve you. Inspired by @moonzcap and my favorite piece by him I wanted to honor what it truly means to let go of everything and everyone. It feels hard, lonely, but light. There is a sense of you are letting go because your ego told you "If you hold on you can keep it" You are no ones and no one is yours. Even as a parent your child is their own entity and being. Your partner. Your employees. No one is yours truly and this is so beautiful because when someone chooses to be yours and you let them into your space. Honor every moment for you don't know when it will be your last. If you let everyone and everything go you are truly stepping into the space of unabashed shamelessness where you are fully able to be present without the past. Finding the truth for your own life is so important. Communicate and express your truth always. It will be hard, but let go of the ego for the lightness of life to shine upon you in your darkest hour. I've been finding a lot of previous writings of mine telling me "be silent, no one wants to hear you" for so long I have believed this. I'm letting go and being who I need to be, for me. Remember kids- the devil disguises himself It's harder to trust the angel who is aware of their horns. We fear this harshness, because the devil has its comforts. That's why we live in our society of endless addiction and unsatisfaction. We wonder where all the light has gone, but it's because we are gouging out our own eyes and poisoning ourselves. Sometimes it's hard to sit with the harshness of the light, but it's love. True love. This is where the saying tough love I believe truly comes from. Angels will walk with you and recognize all of the darkness to help patch up the places where the darkness can get in. The angel can admit where they have their horns. Unfortunately this statement has been hijacked by those with bad intentions and told "see! The devil!" This is when manipulation starts. Creating a comprable plan that makes it easy to follow them vs truly change and challenge. This is intimidating because we have been fooled into thinking what an angel really looks like- a higher ascension of man. It's not. We forget the devil is just a fallen angel who's lost their way due to ego. So what do angels look like? Most people don't spend the time to connect with their light being or only do so to satisfy ego. We in so many ways are doing this in politics, saying democrat/republican picking sides vs respecting the light each side has. We are a spectrum. Step into this spectrum and do not invalidate another's light we all have something to bring. If something is uncomfortable or hard to hold, hold onto it because you are doing the light work necessary to help not only this generation but all that will come after. Sit with your uncomfortableness in complete consciousness. It will hurt, but that's because it's God's work. Growth and change hurt, but be mindful of the type of hurt, the type of growth. Are you growing where you want to or are you being subservient to the system? Stand up to a devil in your life today. Any elements that you know are deeply hurting you and you're choosing their comfort over growth just let go. They will come back changed or not and you'll have your answer. It's been an emotional week, but these photoshoots and creative endeavors fill me with so much light. Our intentions for the shoot were creepy, but I wanted to share our portrait shots first.... I'm tearing up because @woahsanya a thank you million times isn't enough for making me feel more like myself again. When you have a metal eye socket and all of my scars it makes one feel creepy about your face, but photos like these take back my confidence in a new way. So breathtaking and emotional. 10.23.19 I was the victim of a motor vehicle accident. Without the help of 5 amazing neighbors who pulled me out of the vehicle before it exploded I am still here today. This weekend I honored the experience by working with the incredible @ssarahwentworthh to capture the heart wrenching moments. Taking a break from my art to just be. I am realizing the truly life changing moments aren't ever captured. Here are moments of those fractals in reflection. To truly look at the last year of my life and know that it'll be hard to be the bearer of my story. I am proud for being alive and making it through. You should too. Summing of the Sunrise 2019 8 x 11" $50 Your touch lingers over me. I think like the sun will never rise you will never be here. Yet, you're in everything and these places aren't so far away from me. When painting this piece last year at @chapelofsacredmirrors their Art Church on Nature in Mysticism had the same painting... Now ashamed I forget the artist it floored me to see a painting with similar qualities. I love that with visionary art. The same visions are speaking to us all. Breathing, stretching, and calling us forward to who we need to be.
