Day 3 - Sci-Fi - @mcyt-yuri-week

False and Cleo in my Star Trek AU. False is the head Security Officer and Cleo is the CMO. My False lore is based off the DS9 Episode “Second Skin”. The idea is that the Cardassians, who are mainly depicted as existing under a fascist regime, have medically transformed secret operatives and brainwashed them into believing they are another species so that they can genuinely infiltrate and enemy group and be captured at a later date, where they would be pushed back into their operative Cardassian training and thus able to willingly reveal the intel they have gather. Though to be fair, it’s unclear if this is something they actually do just in the episode because they are telling one of our protagonists this despite her not being actually a Cardassian spy. Well they do medically transform their spies we know this from the Voyager character Seska, but it’s unclear if the brainwashing into thinking they are another species thing actually works, because Seska seems to remember being a Cardassian without any prompting. But regardless, my idea for False is that the Cardassian operative military kidnapped the original human False early on into her career as a Star Fleet officer and replaced her with the brainwashed Cardassian False, but because of the various military losses Cardiassia suffered operatives like False were just kinda left to rot while the Cardassian homeworld was rebuilt. And False is just breaking apart because whatever conditioning that existed to suppress her original Cardassian memories are crumbling but she still very much has ~10 years of real memories of getting to know and kinda love the crew around her still exist, even while her implanted memories are failing. Wow this is a whole lot of explanation for a not a whole lot of fic. Also, Cleo was part of the borg collective at some point, it’s not mentioned or super relevant that’s just also part of my AU.

It was a normal check up. It was a normal check up, and False was normal, and there was nothing wrong to be concerned about. It was bog standard, it was routine. Cleo was not suspicious of her and there was nothing to worry about.

“You always deny the blood test, False. I normally let it slide by, because you’re a pain in the ass when you don’t get what you want and if I really wanted to know you’re blood type it’s easy enough to get in emergencies, but you’ve been extra reclusive lately. Anytime anyone asks you do to anything beyond your bridge and meeting duties you’re suddenly ‘tired’. How else am I supposed to help?” She placed her hand on False’s arm, hoping to coax her.

But she couldn’t help. Shouldn’t help. She couldn’t - she couldn’t know.

Because there wasn’t anything to know. False was fine. It was just - nightmares. Stress or something. She should say that. “I am tired. Trouble sleeping, is all. I’m just, stressed or something.”

“We could help with that. We have a counselor on board, you know.”

False just stares.

Cleo sighs. “You never do let anyone in, do you?”

False knows she doesn’t mean it literally. Well, getting her blood drawn would be literal, wouldn’t it? Inside her. Under her skin. Memories of being torn apart and put back together - alien worlds. Alien experiences - no. They mean nothing. Nothing worth worrying about.

Something must have have shown on her face because Cleo’s frown deepened. False didn’t know that was possible.

They sat in silence for a moment. Cleo hesitated, started to say something, and then stopped again. Another moment. Cleo finally spoke, “May I - would you like a hug.”

False looked away and shrugged. Cleo took her into her arms anyways.

FalseCleo to me is tge stupidest thing of all time, yeah we’ve had this weird homoerotic friendship for ten years yes we’re married yes we’re divorced no we did not have a ‘talking’ stage yes we hit the third base (beating each other to death bare handed) no neither of us can say ‘I love you’ properly even in a non-romantic context

C!Cleo has a little false critter toy that she keeps in her purse and they give it little kissies and tells it nice things but sometimes when False pisses them off she slams into the wall really hard in hopes False feels it

The funniest part about Falsecleo is when Cleo is being sweet and lovely to her but then realises to who and what she’s doing and gets mad about it but cant help themselves so it just continues

And then she says something to false angrily all of sudden and False is like „What😰“

False killing Cleo in Exile reminds a lot of the scene at the start of season six where Cleo asks if they can kill false and she refuses and then Cleo asks of False can kill them and False does the Exact same motion and the exact same little nervous laugh, the biggest difference is that False does kill Cleo

Also them doing this after Skizz and Grian log off is understandable but to me it’s also like more intimate I guess, yeah no should know we‘re doing this to each other willingly and enthusiastically and that I love you

False gets a short tour of the exile area from Cleo, they spend a night in a tent together hiding from the creakings. False then punches Cleo to death and wears their player head, and they exchange heart symbols in chat.
